It's become obvious that this is the best a cockpit video can get. Subtitles, perfect camera angles, unusual approaches. 10/10. Ps. make sure your company is okay with filming on the flight deck, i know some guys who got fired for posting footage from the cockpit. It'd be a tragedy if that happened to you man. Edit: beware the MCAS bois
Hello from Tenerife. I love aiplanes. Sometimes I see airplanes in the evebing flying from Cape Verde to the UK. They fly by near La Gomera, so it is easy for us living in Tenerife to observe
Landed here about 6 months, when your a passenger it looks like your still high up then all of a sudden you've touched down ! and the arrivals and departure gate is outside under a tent canopy ! amazing place to visit !
Merci!!
Max happy To see you back. A long time I don t see a video from you. Very smooth landing. Hope next video. Sorry for m'y poor english its the french touch. Lol
I remember a few years ago flying from Manchester UK to Boa Visit, our Female Captain advised that as the airport had no ILS she had to make a Visual Approach. “Don’t worry I have flown into this airport a lot, just now there’s a Big Black Cloud obscuring my view” she circled and once under the cloud made a perfect landing. Love Boa Vista. 🛬
Nice Video and epic circling! And the landing very smooth...but I personally don't like the fact, that the Captain puts his hand on top of the thrust lever at 50ft RA. Of course he has a lot of experience but in case of late go around for whatever reason he would first have to put his hand under the thrust levers again to get to TOGA which can cost some critical small seconds..but nice video anyway :)
Fantastic approach- flew it as a pax last August- is there a published approach for the visual part as I can’t seem to find one anymore? I assumed at the time it was stood down for the new RNAV app? Cheers
Hi there, first of all great vid! Just wondering where you got the camera mount for the window handle (blue). It looks custom made (3D printed) can you confirm? If so, did you print it yourself or had it made somewhere? I could use a piece like that ; ) Also, isn't the camera pointed at the PFD blocking your view? It's probably the side perspective which is giving me this impression. And lastly, what's the setup for the WG2 gimbal? Did you place it on your shoulder like a parrot? In my view it's to far from the aft cockpit window to be physically attached to it and other than that, there is nothing in the 73 to properly attach it to. Your insights would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day skipper.
Thanks Max! Did you continue to Sal for refueling/crew change? Was that a circling approach programmed in the FMC? Have ground/cabin videos of the circling at GVBA on my channel ;)
Quite a polyglot cockpit. Since the flight is out of Brussels, I'm guessing the pilots are Belgians -- so in addition to English as the universal language for talk to the control tower they speak Flemish to each other and toss in a little French along the way. Très amusant!
Did ATC ever approved for descend to 1800ft? 2500ft was approved for NDB 21 followed by circling to approach RNW03 and report final, or did I miss something? 🤷🏼♂️
PilotMax ok then I follow :-) Make sense of course when you’re cleared for the approach. Thanks a lot for your answer. I’m neither a pilot or ATC. I’m just quite fascinated by and interested in ATC. I listen a lot to ESGG’s frequencies, I live nearby. I like your videos a lot, keep em coming :-) Also, the fact that you have the communication with ATC in the videos makes it even better.
PilotMax that was in ferry config though? fair enough. I've dispatched all sorts to places I didn't think would make it. But you've got pax, surely RTOW is just the same MTOW on these flights?😂
I'm talking about the 3 green landing gear lights that indicate that the gear is down and locked. There is a set of them on the main instrument panel, but there's an extra one on the overhead panel, that's the ones I'm referring to.
Mooie video weer MAX! Merci en keep up the video's!
Some differences include : The leading edge devices will fully extend at higher flaps setting (flaps 30 vs flaps 10 on NG), the spoilers have a higher deflection, some engine parameter differences on landing. You don't really notice the differences in reality.
I love it ! It feels really nice, flies better than the NG and much smoother, and is a bit quieter. The big screens are a nice plus also. And the fuel figures are incredible compared to the NG.
I started flying at 13! You can solo at your current age 16 and get your initial license at 17 (in the US...I don't know about other countries)! If you have the patience, commitment, most importantly the 💲💲💲, go for it!😊

Succes verderl!

Would like to get your take on the max being grounded? Have you had an issue with pitching?

What are the technical differences between a B738 with and without the shortfield performance package?
