Yes, #5 is a joke. Although, I’ll never know for sure what was in that goodie bag...

Im 25 attractive tall male I to have had same bad experiences in wearhouses worked wearhouse from like 18 to 20 . I could go on and on about how I was treated similar and maybe even worse. my advice to you would be do something your passionate about and don't let others influence your decisions and my advice to everyone thinking about working at amazon is try it out . either it will motivate you to further your education or just appreciate the value of money . their are no failures only lessons. I love driving and would relish the opportunity to get more driving experience so I can get my cdl.

In all honesty I’ve been working at amazon for 8 months and It’s really nice for an antisocial person because you don’t need to interact with customers or anything. It also pays well and the benefits are great! I work night shifts which is good for me since I can literally never sleep at night anyway 😂

It’s definitely great for antisocial people. I worked at Amazon for 5 months, it was a good job when it came to the money and benefits. I was also a quiet person so dealing with zero customers was great. However, that’s really all the good things I have to say about the job. Even as an anti-social person, I hated it a lot. For many different reasons of course. So I lasted only 5 months there until I said screw this and left. It’s definitely not as a bad of a job that many people say it is, but I personally don’t think it’s even close to a good job overall as well. Just my thoughts.

I had been working with amazon for 3 months so far. I paid attention that all the work is on the associates, PAS just fast walk along the ailes to make sure the job is going, NEVER doing the real work ! Some employees are toxic and speak bad on others, break time is short . 9 hours working and only 1 hour break ( 30 min x2 ). A lot of people leave and new faces come in. Attitude of some managers is toxic, no phones no music, no chairs to set: Amazon is obsessed with safety but not much about your health!

Try working a Regular "non amazon company" distribution center, say as a bulk puller (heavy items over 300lb) and having to keep your pick quota at obscene levels (amazon quota is easier) and do so on a 12 hour shift (not 10). It may be hard (I start tomm evening) but when you've worked on a Corrugator (look the machine up) for 10 hours in 100 degree weather, high humidity and the machine creates about 50 more degrees. Anything Amazon can throw ain't nothing compared to that and I did that for almost six years straight living in the south.

Yes! My first experience working for the FC in my area was so frustrating I quit in my second week simply because it was SOOO disorganized and it would take them hours to get all of the new hires situated into stations with all the equipment needed to work. When allowed to actually do my job I had no problem hitting rates but hated the downtime that was out of my control.
I am trying again in a new department though so hopefully this time is better.

  • @irvdawg34
    @irvdawg34 2 роки тому +38

I am about to quit, been there a year working part time and the problem I have is with the management, they don't know how to talk to people , the training sucks and when you ask them how to do something because you have never done it before the do catch attitudes. It is the biggest revolving door I've ever seen. So many people coming and going. And yes there is always a shortage of walkie talkies and those little handheld dolphins. Those rates they want you to keep is unreal. And they act as if you are supposed to know everything about every position. Amazon needs to teach their managers about how to deal with people cause the majority of them do not know how to manage people. And the pay could be upgraded to about 17.50 an hour cause 15.00 an hr is bacically what minimum wage should be across the country. So I've been pissed off more nights than I've been happy there.

There were many times that my scanner got stolen. Another problem is that people hoard, keep their scanner, make it their own without returning the scanner to the scanner shelf after using it. Another problem is when you come to work and there aren't enough walkie talkies. Again, people keep them without returning them in after use. I've seen people put scanners, walkie talkies in their lockers.

Everything she says is 100% dead accurate. The new launch I'm at is an actual hell hole. The worst management ever. And the first thing all the idiots did was strip off all the tape and flags that designated equipment to specific departments and steal everything which does contribute to a hostile environment. She's so right about this. And the managers act like it's not a problem if there are no scanners or computers or radios, as if it's not one of the top aspects of their freaking jobs to make sure the workers have the tools to get the job done. The whole thing is trash.

I had my lunch stolen right from the break room refrigerator a few weeks ago. I keep my food in the guard shack now. No one messes with it there. Yes, I did have times when scanners didn't work when i was doing non con. And some scanners had the safety straps ripped out or taken off, and i needed those to be able to scan effectively. It was also sometimes very hard to find a charged battery. These were oftentimes common work day hazards. I did try to get there a little bit early to get a good scanner and battery before they were gone. My building also has a parking lot that is a pain to get in and out of and people would back into a parking space and block traffic as they stop in the middle of the traffic lane and back into a space. It drove me nuts. When I went to the new fulfillment center this past summer, the parking lot there was bigger, so I didn't have that issue and, despite the large number of people there, no one there stole my food. I did have one rude experience with one of the packing team ambassadors when I tried to ask for help. I told the learning team coordinator about it, as I was an ambassador myself, so I knew who to talk to about it. Ambassadors are supposed to be very helpful and for the most part, we try to be. This is just a little about my past experiences there. I'm in logistics now for peak on a seasonal assignment on TOM team, back at my sort center.

I would try it out! It really all depends on your location. Maybe you’ll luck out with a good one. Worst comes to worst, you try it out and in the process make some extra money.

I showed up for the second day of training per my shift and no one from class was there 😂 and they had to find someone to help train me randomly 😂 I just walked away.

It's not easy being an Amazombie. But at least, having a foot in the door.

Omg girl, I hope my comment will reach you. Thanks for speaking the truth. I've been an amazon seasonal sortation associate for 2 weeks, and regardless of my financial situation, I REALLY WANT TO QUIT. The reason #2 is all about it. That is ridiculous. They don't even give me sick days. I felt sick. And eventually they added 1.5 points to point systems. Thanks to your video, I am now so certain to leave this place and find another place better than it. Best!

It’s because your seasonal. When they open up blue badge conversions apply for it and you will start getting PTO and UPT hours

I had pto as a white badge and they said 6 points to be terminated but the warehouse I was at has a high turnover rate they won’t terminate you unless you have 12 points.

that first one hit hard ..I used to stow at amazon and the hardest part of the job was finding a scanner at the start of your shift there were either none or no batteries or the scanners there were not able to connect to the internet ..so by the time you get to scanning your first item, you're 20mims into your shift (late)

I just started. Leadership all seems lost and clueless. My biggest issue is that there wasn’t a member of HR in orientation (4 hrs) to answer basic questions. The individuals I had to interact with were apparently on the “training path”. One was burned out and didn’t care to be helpful. The other was brand new and didn’t know anything.
There is a complete lack of information at Amazon. No one knows how anything works, or who to contact about issues. They have a dry erase board where members can write suggestions on the board such as “add xyz food to the break room” but I don’t think suggestions are ever acted on by management
Since I’m in outbound ship dock it takes me about 5 minutes to walk to the front of the building. Up front they have an immaculate break room full of coolers, lockers, video games, and a coffee machine. The break room we have in the back is tiny, has a limited selection of anything, and there are definitely no games or tvs in it. I also don’t think the sc”air conditioner works in it. You could walk back out on the floor and be at least 10 degrees cooler.
Overall I’m not impressed. Two days of being protected by training status and on the 3rd day they threw us to the wolves. I honestly have a feeling they take bets and go out of their way to see who they can break and get to quit. (Management)
It’s also very clicky*, gossipy, and back stabbing. Big red flag. I don’t trust management and I damn sure don’t trust the guy working next to me.

One week isn’t long enough to get a feel for the company. Each facility is different.

I have heard that after a year you can reapply. I think stowing was the wrong position for me. I would be still working if I delivered totes to the stow lines. I made 17.00 working 3 days Fri, Sat, and Sun. My 4th day was Mon. When the holidays started or for Prime. 12 hrs a day. The time went fast. The step stool is what will get you. My knees become swollen. So I decided to quit. The I pad people let you know everyday how much you pulled and what you need to work on. The job is at a constant pace. You are on a timer. The stations all had scanners. So that was not a problem in stowing.
