    It’s very interesting, like it takes away “option paralysis”. Some might not like but not being able to turn the cab off but still a neat product. If they added a way to use your own IRs but I guess that would defeat the purpose of the “simpleness”. Still a great idea.

    • @Raithmir
      @Raithmir 2 роки тому +8

      I don't think that would complicate things too much, at least just giving us the option to turn it off and use another IR loader.

    • @dorzluf
      @dorzluf 2 роки тому +1

      Honestly, I still don't get why you would buy it. Yes, it sounds really good, but there's only so much you can do to change the tone and stand out. Also, the idea of good tone out of the box, I think most Neural DSP plugins sound great out of the box, but then you can also tweak. If all you care about is jam with good tone, then it's good, but for anything else I don't see how it's worth the money.

    Jason (a genius) at JZIR Impulse Responses have made an IR that neutralize the one in Amp Knob so you can use your own. Signal chain is 1.Bogrens amp knob 2.IR loader with JZIRs neutralizing IR and 3 IR loader with the IR of your choice.
    Works fantastic and its free!

      Same deal for me but I got mine a year ago give or take. It is a very solid amp, great tones for modern prog metal it just sounds good. Also it plays pretty good live, it feels responsive and I get very little latency to the point that I do not notice it al all when playing. It has tons of IR's as well - over 100 to choose from.

      @@mylogify I use Reaper. Seems like it has a tone of potential, more than I currently need so that is cool. Also they have a great online community, lots of support and ability to find out how to do anything with the software.
      For what it is worth I also have a 7 string Jackson, cost me $180 and it is an awesome guitar, super low action, holds tune for days, etc... Also have a MusicMan JP100D, sounds a lot like the Jackson.
      Tha goes into an Audient iD4 interface, the best interface I have owned so far. I have also had the Sterling interface and an AudioBox from Presonus and they both worked good. The Presonus was OK, the Sterling sounded really good except I get too much clicking and popping. This one is great, super quiet and sounds well - not there!
      My laptop is ancient which actually gives some props to Reaper and the VST's that I mostly use - I can play live with no percieved latency and it sounds and works great, Overlouds THU is particularly low on laptop burden, there are some VST's that are resource hogs and cause crashes, clicks and pops, but the really frustrating thing is that I think if this laptop was just a little newer it would have zero issues.
      And amp VST's - there are tons of them out there. I have THU Metal which is really good and useable, also have an amp called the Cali Reverb from Nembrini that sounds great.
      But I have to maention this guy Nalex - his amps are super inexpensive and they sound 99% as good as anything from Neural DSP! (the Neural stuff is all awesome, it seems like it is only just a little bit away from being useable on my laptop. Anyway I have the Crunchman which is a Friedman HBE custom amp sim. that sounds EXACTLY like many of the Periphery guitars off of P2. I paid for that one and a couple others, the Uber and the Gerbert - both super solid sounding amps.
      Oh yea, and I play like a beginner. Have been playing for a long time, long enough to have quit in the middle of things for over 15 years. I self taught which was a terrible idea as I ingrained in a ton of bad habbits which I now spend most of my time fighting. But it is still fun to play and think it might be possible to play some of these modern prog metal songs which are all fast, melodic, technical, amazing songs that aren't fast just for the sake of being fast, some truly sounding like composed masterpieces uf musical genius! No doubt that this genre of music is something special.
      Hope that wasn't too much... What kind of gear do you have? Cheers!

    Pretty cool... but a little too limited for the money maybe? I totally have option paralysis when it comes to plugins though. I love the Neural DSP Gojira suite, but three amps, all those effects, where do you start dialing in tones?! Give me a proper amp and I'm totally happy turning knobs, but with all the choice in Gojira I find it daunting. Crazy I know.
    I've actually been using the Fortin Cali suite more, single amp, limited effects, I'm much happier tweaking it. Maybe I need to try this Rev C!

      I don’t mean to sound condescending, but you’ll probably never find any guitar tone that doesn’t go through at least a low/high pass on the post-EQ, especially for metal. This is minimizing the process of tone-shaping the amp itself, giving you an immediately great sound to just mess around with.

      @@coffinfeeder7732 I still don't get the marketing hype here. Use my tone knob amp that doesn't have any tone sculpting or eq controls but you will obviously have to shape it to fit in a mix. I don't care about the mix. I use software amps to play through and to practice. Too expensive for what you get. Thank you for the laughs.

    Make this a 10$ plugin and add an IR loader and it would be an interesting concept. 40 bucks for one single sound is just ridiculous.
