- If you need to turn on your water when you are gone or asleep then I would recommend this Orbit Digital Timer. Very easy to set and works well. Battery lasts a long long time.

Simple , clear and useful Instructions, Thank you. The manufacturer could not do such a nice job.
Thanks for the instruction! .... Cheaper than Home Depot, so I put one in my Amazon cart from YOUR link!
Ladies and gentlemen my research is over thanks for the review this is exactly what I need instead of making holes and running tubes in my yard
This has worked well for a couple years now. The batteries last forever.
Amazing device, thanks for the design 😍
This is a great timer. I bought one just like it 4 years ago. I used it on a farm and it lasted all summer. The battery last over one year. The gasket works good to keep any corrosion off the battery. Great Video. Need more Cow Bell, no wait need more RAM PUMP! :) Keep up the good Videos. :)
John Godwin Nice! I had questioned how long the batteries would last. Just wait a couple weeks and you will get a video with not only more ram pump but also more cow bell!!! I have a local farm that needs water for cows and I am going to be installing a land to house pump. yay.
:-D perfect
Great video! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the video. Great job!!!
I only had two small patches of lawn before, and the timer worked fine for that. But when I moved to a new place with a big backyard and front lawn, I had to upgrade to an irrigation controller. I was going to buy an Orbit product at first, but ended up going with the ImoLaza, which is also a really good controller.
Good review. Just got one. Thanks
Glad I found this post. People asked the question i needed and you answered. We will need to get a new washer/valve I guess because the timer works but where it connects to the pump water is shooting out the side of the pumps valve and that will be water loss if the pump is turned on ti operate the timer. Thanks!
I'm happy to help. Glad you found the answer you needed
What a nifty item, I never knew such a thing existed, I can see me getting one of these before too long
My next video is using it with ram pump!
Land to House i also think so
Orbit has great customer service
very helpful thank you!
Straight forward and to the point video. Thank you bro.
It didn't seem to have that much water going through. I need to run 2 orbit sprinkler heads that shoot 15 feet. Am I gonna have a problem? 🐀🐾
I have this same timer. Love it. Nice job.
Is 6 hours the least amount of time apart
Can we install it under direct sunlight?
I have several of these and set them up inline, mine have a removable in connector but alternate replacement fitting to run poly irrigation pipe in are not available, so I need to use other parts and screw them into the supplied fitting.
Your awesome!!
What kind of pressure will it support? Looks like under 20psi coming out
Straight forward easy to follow up, tq, Sir
Happy to help.
Hey Seth I hope you see this.. so I bought the 3 station timer and put some sprinkler heads in ground on 3/4 inch pipe. It works well but my Anti Siphon valve leaks now I have to push the washer down but after a while it does it again. You have any advice?
Been using 2 of these for years now. Love it but how can we getting better waterflow? Seems like it restricts the waterflow some
this is what i needed....
Thank you for this. But I have a question. Do you turn on your house spigot to the orbit timer so it can water through the cycle that is set?
The part I don't get is what's above the timer. I connect a hose then the timer, then another hose? My faucet has to be on all the time? And the timer blocks the water unless it's time? I'm thinking of a timer because I'm going to travel. It seems like my 2 faucets being on for 24 hours a day for a week while I'm gone is worrisome. Especially since I have a well. Also when I water my water pressure drops in the house at times. Thank you for your help.
So to control it remotely, you have to have the Iris hub connected to Wi-Fi, and the faucet has to be connected with the hub. Do you know what the range is from the hub to the faucet? I'm wishing for at least a 2,000 ft. distance, or is it Zigbee range?
Nice job bro
Is the valve free flow? I use a water reservoir without a water pump, gravity flow
I have the Divvio which is similar. You set it 1 when you want it to water everyday? I’ve been setting 7 since there are 7 days in a week.
WaltBee - If the timer shuts off, isn't the water valve itself still turned on? Because you can hear the water still running. How does this work? Won't this run up my water bill (which is already high) ?
I'm building a drip irrigation system. But I have the same timer except mine is the one with 3 stations. But when I connect to the water source an the timer is laying flat like u had yours on the ground. No water comes through ..but if I have the timer in a vertical position .. an the water source is coming from on top it flows normally..why is that?
Thanks bro!
Thanks for watching
Be aware that if these are to be stored in freezing temperatures/over winter, you must empty the internal solenoid water by removing timer from hoses and setting the timer to open the valve to allow you to blow by mouth, the residual water from the internal solenoid. It's surprising how much water you will blow out. Approx. 4-5 ml came out of mine. Enough to crack a plastic housing solenoid if frozen into a confined space.
Do you have to turn on the spigot and leave it on before this will actually work?
I bought orbit 2 months ago when I was in New York, when I got to Jakarta, I tried to set but the outlet water is very small (just drip). What shall I do?
Is the water pressure that weak? Wont be able to water anything with that kind of pressure.
Great Video. Question. How long do the batteries generally last. Let me know please. THANKS.
I had a question that I noticed reviewers don't address. Maybe I am missing something. When hooking this water timer to the valve, what is turning the actual water valve off and on? Do I turn the water valve from the house on? And then the timer does the rest? If so, does that leave the water running, until I come turn the valve off? I understand the timer blocks the water from running but does that mean the valve is still turned on? Until I come to turn It off? I hope I'm making sense.
Thank you sir lot help me
This is a stupid question but do you have the water running at all times?
Mine has a clip on the part that screws into the hose and it leaks. I have no idea how to stop the leak.
If the battery dies out, will the valve fail to close or fail to opn
Thank you
Happy to help.
thanks mate
+BMW OF - TEXAS any time. I have enjoyed this timer.
LOVE this timer! Just one question,: if I want it to water around 11:30am and 5:30pm and I set it for 11:30 at a 6 hr interval, will it water again at 11:30pm? I don't want to water my new seed that late so if need be I can just shut it off after the 5:30 watering. In this case, if I change the time to water at maybe 12:01pm and 6:01pm, would it water again at 12:01am since it's a new day, or would the next watering be at 12:01pm? I hope this is not too confusing, I've been trying to figure this out for awhile now! Thanks :)
Yes
this system lost water pressure?
Do you turn water on and leave it on and set it up ???
If I set it to 1 day will it water every day or just one day a week?
The water pressure seems very weak, probably wont be able to run a sprinkler? I got one of those Oscillating Sprinkler that fans back and forth and thinking of adding this to it.
Please help. Which model# has on off time settings but has no limitation or duration on water flow time?
Question: Own two of these timers..one has stopped letting water go through, either by auto or manuel. The timer screen is working, I've cleared it and reset it, but still no water??? Any ideas? Thank you.
Anyone have used this device to water a garden using drip irrigation lines? What to know which valves and hose etc I should be ordering.
QUESTION: For some reason when I turn the water on, it's not going through the timer? I took the hose off and turned the water on but still it doesn't go through the timer and out of the opening? What's going wrong?
Does it fit directly to the spigot with out leaking around the sides?
Yes it has a standard garden hose o-ring to prevent leaks
Do you have a problem with that don't close after time up?
what battery go dead when being used water stay on?
The battery lasts for a very long time. It is my understanding that when the battery does die it will leave the unit in the position it is currently in.
Hello great video but wanted to know how to cancel the rain delay
Can you hook this up to a soaker hose?
my orbit model 62061n when programmed does not work only the manual way HO W CAN I PROGRAMM IT CORRECTLY¿
Hello Is it possible to program 4 watering times for each 24 hours ? Thank you
What happens if battery becomes dead? Valve open or close?
Can you put a hose splitter (y) on the connection where a hose goes, to have two hoses tied to the timer instead of just one??
+Eric Foor yes you sure can. This company actually makes a multi head timer. But if you want to run water to two separate places you can install a y splitter.
YES
So, do you turn the spigot on after you put on the device, before you set the timer?
I find it amazing that it will stop the water when its not supposed to be on. Amazing.
Yeah, water has to be on all the time. Use white garden hose. Water can be quite warm when it first starts. I bury my hose along a fence. Timer is in a corner covered by a notched bucket. Between my 2 sprinkler heads, I use the white hose on top of a granite retaining wall. The wall is 3 feet high. Gives me extra distance rather than being at ground level. They shoot toward each other to prevent dry spots at the heads.
@@djratino so if the hose is always turned on, where does the water go? Do you get a large water bill?
@@jd1671 The water bill ran $60 last month.
The water bill is based on flow. If this timer is installed but not flowing the water is not moving. This means its the same as if the hose was off.
@@LandtoHouseMine wont stop the water from flowing, everything is programmed right, washer is there no leaks, what might be the problem?
Can you explain what's rain delay
Quick question. I don't mind watering my garden each day but my husband believes you can leave a water hose on (pressurized all day) that doesnt leak and it wont effect the water bill. I say turn it off if you are not using. Which is true? I think if you leave it on it cost more to keep the hose full at all times. Please help.
If the water is not running out of the hose, it is not increasing your bill. Think about your water faucet in the kitchen. It is fully pressurized all the time, but it only uses water when you turn it on and it goes down the drain. (along with everything else in your house hooked up to water) So your husband is right.
@@rperry70 thank you
Why does the water leak out of the two holes on the bottom of the timer
No long introduction or off tangent nonsense to buy your merch in the beginning of the video?
Thank you for being a decent youtuber.
Don't you have to keep your house turned on? Will this run up the water bill?
hi, but shall I leave the water on ? I mean leave open the tap ? what about if I have to leave for holidays? thanks
thats the whole idea, waters when your away
Great question!!! And one never answered!
Hello, nice video but even after changing the battery, it does not come on...what could be the reason.
I have a such water timer. It produces hammering after ONE summer usage.
Hi, sorry to disturb you , do you think this timer can withstand high pressure from my water pump running water source.
This seems to do well at 60psi. I really don't know above that.
I’m thinking about buying two of these timers. Just have one question, Ideally I would like to water new seed every 6 hours on my yard. Example; 6am, 12pm, and 6pm. If I turn this dial to the off position at night (8pm-11pm) and turn it back on before 6 am would the previous setting continue to work and water my lawn again at 6, 12pm and 6pm? Or would I have to set the time again? I really don’t want to water my lawn at night (waste of water in my opinion) but it would be tedious to have to adjust the timer every morning as well.
I hope my question is not confusing, thanks in advance for a reply. Good video!
Maybe I can just shut my water off after the last watering and turn it on again before 6am. I guess that would work too.
j ross you could simply turn off the water valve at those times the timer will keep running on schedule, but no water will come out at night!
Adam R I ended up doing that, my need grass filled in and now I watering once every other day. This timer was definitely worth it.
Why does the water pour out the two holes on the bottom of the timer
But in order for the timer to work, the water itself has to be turned on. So I have to physically turn the knob to allow water flow into the timer unit but only see water come out once the timer initiates depending on your settings. Is this correct? If so, then naw, I'm not going to leave my house knowing the faucet knob is turned on even if no water is actually running.
Yes that is how the timer works. It is a valve like the one on the house but it has a timer. There is always room for error but so far this one has worked flawlessly.
How it's that any different that a traditional sprinkler system? Your water is always on with valves holding the water on or off?!?
Hey Seth, Great Review mate, (recently purchased an orbit). Just wondering how long the battery last's with an on/off each day? looking at installing a 4v solar panel to keep batteries charged and have this in my glass house coming on once a day at noon to mist vegetables in the hotter months. Cheers Cammo.
I believe I have the original batteries in this unit. They're still going strong but I do not use it very often. I should expect they would last at least a year.
Thanks for the reply Seth.
Hello! this one is waterproof ?
Thanks!
can ı order it for Turkey
The water is not strong. without thay tool, is the water strong?
How the rain delay works? Does it detect a rain when rain drops fall on the device or by drop in air pressure? What happens when it is watering and rain comes. Does it stop automatically?
I am wondering about this as well, the manual button is nice, because you can just give them a bit of extra water if needed without having to mess with adding times or dragging an extra hose or something like that.
To be honest I have not used that feature.
I am planning on using this unit a lot more next year. The battery lasts forever!
İşime yaradın gelecekteki teba
I have spent a metric tone of money on timers and many are so weakly built, they break easily. What's the guarantee time for this item?
To be honest I am not sure. This one has lasted over a year with no issues. The batteries last forever.
VietVet 1970 yes, plastic connectors is such a bad idea. Best to attach a "leash" or something on hose, or use hose reel, so the hose wont be pulled or bent.
In where we can buy it ?
Great information.
My only doubt is for how long we can program this equipment? Only for one week or only for a month or for a whole year ?
If we program it for 12 hours, will this keep on working till the battery dies or only for a week & shuts off automatically?
Please provide me a answer.
This unit timer will work until the battery dies. So if you set the clock to turn on every 7 days that is what it will do. The only limit to operation is the life of the battery.
I only want to program station 1. I will be using station 2 on manual 99% of the time. How do I set station 2 to manual ALL the time? It appears to expect start time, etc. Thanks.
You just gotta do it honestly

hi what is the diameter(inlet and outlet) of orbit timer to connect this to a faucet.
Both are typical garden hose fittings. 3/4" garden hose thread.
thanks. whether this orbit timer can be fix with bathroom faucet.
+dayashankar karunamoorthy if you can match up the threads to the sink there is likely an adapter that will work.
So you leave the water faucet on ?
Yes that is how this timer is supposed to work.
Just purchased 2 of these and have set them up on their own supply to come for one hour every 24 hrs, if I use a garden hose it starts them working outside of the preset hours, its a though a drop in the water pressure caused by using a garden hose upsets them, Anyone have any ideas, are they faulty, should I return them ?
That's odd. I would not think that a pressure difference would do that. I have used them in very low pressure situations and not had an issue.
How can I order it?
Can you set the timer for more than once a day ? I would like to set it for atleast 3 times a day. Thank you in advance!
Nop only once a day
Does it help with water pressure or is it just a timer?
Not sure. I just got one today and I'm going to try it with the water valve half open and see how that works. I'll adjust it accordingly
In India it available..? where. Price how i
My timer was working fine, but I'm leaving town and trying to set it for every 6 hours. I have it set at 7:30 a m, but it did not come on at 1:30 p.m. am I doing something wrong?
How’s the GPM for yours? Hopefully its not weak like in the video.
I had one installed at a mountain property. It got stuck in the open position and flooded the area for days.
Mine stop working, the screen only shows 88:88… is there any fix to that?
👍🏽
is it possible 2mins every 2hours?
Is there any design plan to have the water shutoff gradually instead of slamming shut? This sudden shutoff is not good for pipes.
with all do respect if your worried about that why bother getting up in the morning?
@@vicktdock you should have stayed in school and paid more attention in English class - with all due repect
@@3oldman Thanks, I have in the past typically cared more about correct punctuation and spelling, but in my old age have thought it less of an art appreciated by others. Again thanks for reminding me some still care!
how long do batteries last?
I have not used this but a handful of times. Same battery is still keeping time years later!
