I disagree with your video. Most people using the Excaliber 2 have the misconception that a higher setting equates to more depth. Nothing can be further from the truth. The search mode all-metal will give you twice the information as does discriminate mode. Using a sensitivity level between 3-5 (sub aqua) changes the threshold tone of the Excaliber and makes it more stable. There is more of a hollow sound that indicates the signal is traveling deeper into the ground. Listen for the faint repeating responses in all-metal and dig.
Hi kevin, Cheers for your comment. When this video was made i had the excalibur 2 for a short time and couldnt really find any videos on how to set it up, so i made my own with what i was using. Is there any other tips you can give others viewing this video that i havent included? I have since upgraded to the CTX and no longer have the excalibur
Thank you Mr. Bogan. I also have a CTX 3030 and it's my primary beach treasure hunting machine. It's probably one of the deepest and most accurate metal detectors I've ever used. Unfortunately it's in the shop being repaired. Most of the information I've printed on the Excaliber 2 is from Clive Clynick's books and my own personal experience. I'd be glad to give some more tips on coil control and the characteristics of BBS metal detectors. Happy hunting and good luck.......Kevin.
