Thank you so much for your video, I received an Xterra 705 for Christmas and after watching your video & taking notes I feel more confident now in getting out there & using it.
Hi. Thank you for the video. I received my 705 today and was a bit confused with the instructions. You made it very clear plus you went through it twice. It was extremely helpful to me. Not sure if you still have yours but what a difference to the ace 250, wow! And pinpointing is so easy. All the best. Chris.
This is such an excellent video thank you VERY much... I just bought this machine today... Very well explained and clear video, prob the best I have seen!

Hey mike, Glad to hear you have learn something new. I'm learning more each trip out with the 705. Keep watching , another video real soon so make sure to subscribe!
GREAT Video !!! Perfect walkthrough of most all settings etc. Thanks so much (really helps me out in my current research for a new detector)!!! Any further videos? I see you did a beach video but I don't do any beach hunting. Any further information of videos on what you have learned more about the machine etc.? Thanks again for the great video .. best by far on this X-Terra 705!!!
Hi Chris, It has a lot more settings than the ace detectors but doesn't take a long time to get used to. I had it for around 6 months before I decided I would upgrade to the Excalibur 1000. It's a great machine and I think you will find plenty with it :) Thanks for joining my channel and feel free to ask any questions
I just bought the x.terra 305 from 2nd hand shop it looks new it was the owners for $150 i think its similar in setup to the 705 so your info will help me a lot cheers . From N qld.
Dave ….. Great video and very helpful. I have a problem and wonder if you can help me ….. on the discrimination settings 1.2.3.4. the settings on my x-terra 705 are totally different to yours. could I get back to Factory settings some how or can I manually get my bars to align with yours ? Hope to hear from you …. regards Dave
Now I've left adelaide I'll give you all my secret location I did very well in with my 705. It's the oval at the old croydon high school. I found heaps of money including pre deci and jewellery alsi found a gold sovereign case which at first thought it was an old fob watch. I couldn't remember where i dug it so there could be sovereigns there. Still loads still there but please dig plugs and leave it clean. History shows orig the high school was a farm back in the 1800s and west Croydon was owned by 1 family. Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback guys! Im glad my videos are able to help others just starting off. Please look out for some up and coming videos. Tell me what you guys want to see
Hi. I for one really appreciate you uploading this video! I purchased a 5 month old xterra 705 for $500 from the states which I thought was reasonable. I have been a little frustrated with it however. Lack of knowledge being the problem and even though I have the instruction manual, I, like most people I guess, learn far quicker if shown what to do. My 705 came with a fairly small concentric coil and I wanted to know what you would recommend for general use? My other question comes off your video, when you use auto track do I need the coil on the deck or off a couple of inches as for manual? Sorry for taking up so much of your time but I may have more questions if that's ok with you. Cheers and thanks again, you made life a little easier for an old man.
Hi Chris. Im glad to hear that you have picked up a great hobby and started with the same detector i did. To answer your question on auto tracking, it will ground balance every few seconds without needing to pulse the detector up and down from the ground so you can rub the ground if you like. I think to start with using the auto tracking would be your best bet. Feel free to email me with your questions and thanks for your comment
Thanks for the video. I've just ordered the 705 after using a garrett ace 250 for 5 months. It became obvious very quickly that VDI numbers was the way to go. However after seeing you video I'm now wondering if I've done the right thing! It appears complicated, not that I'm an idiot but I like to get out and go basically. Do you still use the 705 or have you now got another unit? I just subbed you. Cheers, Chris.
Hi Mistapha , it really depends on how much you like to dig. When i was detecting parks i would use fairly low sensitivity as the ground was way too hard at most parks to even dig or there was pipes that were being detecting. if you are in an open area test out trying different settings, in a park with heavy traffic i was looking for coins close to the surface
So much easier to understand than the impossible manual. Wanted to burn the thing when I first got it. Thanks for the video
This is the best explanation of the settings of the 705 that I can find. ML should send you a check. Brilliant!
Agreed. Very well explained.

12 dollars in materials and they jack the price up to 600? Complete rip off for a stupid old mans toy.
