I've played Portrait of Ruin, and can confirm they also start using some bosses as regular enemies later on. There's even quite a few enemies that have more health than a lot of the bosses.

After that, he had to keep his eyes closed because anything he looked at would die instantly. He was eventually killed by his own grandson.
The game where Dracula broke his own chains, defeated the source of his own powers, and regained his humanity and hope. I wish we could have gotten a new sequel where we actually see grown-up Soma looking like a modernly-dressed Dracula and trying to keep Chaos's ambitions in check alongside his "son" and the Belmonts.
I just noticed after 18 years that the Chaos's core resembles the eclipse shown on the menu, hence why Castlevania was strong enough to unseal itself during it. In a certain way, the final boss is the first thing you see when booting up the game.
the one in symphony of the night was even creepier. twice the size and bodies falling out of the ball constantly. it was also flesh and blood colored instead of a big grey blob.
What is creepy as heck is that before your funny with legion, while your exploring that area of the castle, all off the grey bodies that make up the thing are all over the place. They all walk in the direction of the boss room.
I played Symphony of the Night as a kid on my older brothers PlayStation. I finally got a gameboy Advance with this game. It instantly became my favorite.

Legion/Granfaloon is honestly my favorite boss in all of Castlevania. Yeah, i know there are technically better bosses, but its cool to fight, as well as its just cool to be fighting essentially a balloon of dead bodies.

While I didn't realize it at the time when this came out, this really is the best of all Castlevania's. I've played SotN more, but the gameplay of this is so cool. So is Dawn of Sorrow.
@@alexklozano Oh I see it now. Indeed it has decreased a bit. But in fact it's his max health that increases because he leveled up, but leveling doesn't regen his HP, the green orb thing does and fills the bar. You can check at the other bosses that he kills and levels up, the same thing happens.
I remember play this game on a GBA emulator on a computer then to a phone. So many memories, including acquiring the Claimh Solais, one of the strongest weapons in the game or a rare Positron rifle when in boss rush mode.
Balore and Headhuntress are probably my most favorite bosses in this game. One, since their character and themes are pretty interesting. And two, since it isn't any generic oversized enemy or an already existing boss in the series. And three, just because Balore basically dupes you into thinking you're about to fight another generic bat boss.
A little story, so i got this game from my friend. we are using emulator to play this game. I don't know how but he got a modded version. We start the game with all items in possesion and using a big sword that does 9999 damage. We finish the game so quickly back then XD
This person's definitely far better than me but I've gotta say Claimh Solais makes shit so much easier. He repels all of Chaos' projectiles without fuss, and attacks multiple weak spots together. Thrusting weapons don't give you the same luxury.

On the first playthough I did of this game I accidentally skipped the headhunter. Made that entire part of the castle a surprise on my second one. I accidentally found a glitch and used it to progress.
Daniel Madrid I just kept farming Medusa heads until I got their power. Made Balore easy, but trying to fight him the first time without it was a nightmare.
I remember playing this game but I haven't met Belmont and Chaos I only reached up to Graham and I thought the game was over. Can't remember more why haven't fought those bosses.
This is a gorgeous list. Bloodlines was my first Castlevania game, and Portrait of Ruin is probably my favorite for that reason. IT has so much going on in it and the tag system is amazing. I feel like they were really inspired by the Castlevania 3 and Dawn of Sorrow's Julius Mode and really wanted to focus on the tag mechanic. Charlotte is among my favorite characters too, her book melee was awesome.
TBH Charlotte was too annoying for me, same for Jonathan always whining and complaining because "daddy reasons". Game wasn't bad but I wouldn't play again, unless it's the Lecarde sisters mode again ...and now that I think about it, why the HECK people pronounce "Lecarde" wrong? They are supposed to be a Spanish family, it should sound like "Leh-Cahr-Deh"
