I like how Richter and Dracula’s conversation is basically the What is a Man speech but coherent.
And richter’s hesitance when Dracula asked him if he had desires shows how he was easily manipulated in SoNT
But the moment I heard "Death to you! The world is not yours to exist in!" I knew it had was still the same old Richter

One of the most frustrating games I've ever played and yet I loved every second of it.
You and me both bosses level design and fuck those medusa heads and those little frogs we have to deal with lol
I always thought that Rondo of Blood had the best boss fights, out of all the linear-style Castlevania games. They were challenging, intense and had a lot of character.
Akumajōu Dracula/Castlevania on Sharo X68000 home computer in Japan same year in 1993, later ported in North America as Castlevania Chronicles on Sony PlayStation in 2000 is also really good, as good as Rondo Of Blood/Akumajōu Dracula X Chi No Rondo, and I'm a sucker for Super Castlevania 4.
But Rondo Of Blood is excellent, definitely top tier.

SeductiveSwordsman to be fair this voice over was done in 2007 they had time to improve.
But its David Vincent (Richter) and Patrick Seitz (Dracula) those two men are legends.

This game still has my favorite incarnation of Death. His voice in the original TurbographX version is the highest-quality in the game, and for good reason, he sounds so badass and deathly.
Now a year later, good old Death has claimed Luigi.

This is so Surreal. I never knew this game had such well voiced cutscenes and by so many cult VAs.
In case anyone is bad like me and can't get the timing right consistently in the first phase of the final boss: I found it much easier to hit him as soon as he appears and then backflip over the fireballs. 100% effective
I like how alot of these bosses have a "Last attack" Mechanic.

I won't lie when I first played this game and fought Death, that moment when he whips his cloak off and his scythe materialises gave me chills haha
I kind of wish they would have gone with that for his Symphony of the Night incarnation. "You are strong indeed, but show me what you can really do."

El juego se lanza en un sistema que usaba CD y eso hizo que se puediera utilizar una animación aunque algo limitada muy superior ala que se manejaba en otras consolas como snes y mega drive

He has a bandana and short hair like Ryu and nothing else, so not really. It's just one of those many possible stereotypical looks. Now whether that still gave Konami trouble or not, I do not know.
Such a beautifully animated game, Konami made so many high quality titles in the 90s.
The first time he did the Moonwalk, I thought it was a command glitch or something...but then later on I just realized he was doing it on plain purpose.
To think, in just over a decade, the Minotaur would go from a level boss (here) to a mere grunt, albeit one of the best sources of grinding skill points (Portrait of Ruin).
Same for the Werwolf
20 years ago they had already achieved the conception of a great 2D game as we know them (in terms of gameplay, music and graphics)

Just finished the game yesterday. Maria is so broken, lmao. I beat Dracula with her on the first try and only got hit once by a stray fireball in phase 1 and again when he jumped on me in phase 2. Naturally, I wasn't satisfied, so I went straight to the Belmont for a rematch and got destroyed about 25 times.

This game is a masterpiece. Still play it today, its remake also is one of the best Castlevania's. I love that style, the series should have kept that as a new model more modern and also classic for the series. Imagine Symphony of The Night with the remake graphics?!

I know these old games used to do whatever with localization, but hearing the final confrontation between Dracula and Ritcher I noticed the dialogue was much more in line with the fan translation I saw in this guy's no damage playthrough of Symphony of the Night, not exactly word for word, tho I'm not sure if the differences are more due to the fan translation being more rigid as projects of this fan made nature tend to be, or if it's just the English dub taking some liberties with the script, but they were both still generally on the same page whereas the official PS1 dub was completely different with the PSP redub only being a more verbose version of the old one.
I always thought that at 28:09, when Dracula transforms, he says to Richter: "Now you're screwed!"

I just finished the remake, and one thing i noticed is how they slightly changed Richter's personality.
In the original, he is much more easy going and kind.
In the remake, he's much more serious about his mission and his role as a Belmont, they even took off his pose.

The remake made Richter into Simon without Muscles, or Charisma.

I didn't know about this game when it was out, I only played the SNES version, this could arguably the best Castlevania ever.
Death, one of three bosses in this game along with the Mummy and Shaft's Ghost to not have flesh... and also the only one who bleeds.

Never could figure out all of Richter's moves, I just know the fanbase considered him to be the most broken Belmont, even in other games he was in.
in this game all he got was like a nice backflip and Item Crash, SOTN Richter is the broken one if anything.
Also you should see Maria, Double Jump, better speed, makes Axe Armors look like a joke, better firing rate, pretty solid animal friends as subweapons, a Dash option instead of a Backflip...

Catching the orb mid-backflip is so oddly satisfying.
I had this game in the PSP version and it was so difficult, I mostly just used that cartridge to play symphony of the night
