Hi @@amadeopaul4647, Collar's like Seresto are fleas and ticks repellent. Its means parasites will die instantly, as soon as they touch your dog's body. With Bravecto parasites have to bite your dog and then they will die. If your area is Lyme disease effective. Then your vet's collar is giving your dog extra protection, otherwise, you can just use Bravecto.

Guys, don’t take what he said about using dog products for cats (and vice versa) lightly!
A long time ago, before I ever knew this, I was desperate to get rid of a flea infestation that was driving my dog nuts, I had an extra cat collar, and I hadn’t known how dangerous these collars could be.
Long story short, I left for maybe half an hour after putting the cat collar on my dog to get some groceries, and when I came back, my dog was in a catatonic state. Luckily, he survived, and he’s doing great, but it could have been much, much worse!
Do NOT use these products on anything other than what it’s meant for!

I would love to see an updated version of this line up because we now have long acting collars etc. Touching also on whether you can use some other things in conjunction like we needed to do a capstar even though the cats were treated with a monthly... now I have them treated with the cheapy prevententive (because it seemed they were getting immune to the other monthly) and I need to use a Capstar.. I don't know if it's safe. SOOOO many more questions because unfortunately we have became a mini rescue like so many more Americans that have become inundated with neighborhood cats.
The face of Vet medicine has to change.. somehow.. to meet more needs. These videos are great.

My experience with vets has been universally bad. They are always trying to push procedures that cost major $$$, but do nothing for my kitty's longevity. One vet went so far as to accuse me of not loving my kitty because I refused to pay for procedures that she had admitted were immaterial to extending my cat's life. I told her to never say that again. If she did, I would start yelling profanity laced speech at her. She left the exam room and I never saw her again. They tried to charge me for an extended visit, but desisted after I threatened to call the DA and complain about them. For cat flea treatment call your local cat boarding service and ask what they recommend.

A red flag just went up when this vet mentioned the ingredient/chemical "fipronil" in one of these products! Why? Because just before watching THIS video I watched one that talked about a study that showed how "fipronil" can cause a TON of neurological side effects! If a vet is going to tell all about the good stuff why not be perfectly honest and warn pet owners about the bad stuff, too!!? Let us make a choice based on THAT information!

I live in the Caribbean and fleas & ticks are everywhere; I use to use FRONTLINE on my dog but the flea and ticks became immune to this treatment and it no longer was effective. So I decided to use the CERTIFECT, now I must admit that it works better than Frontline but as soon as I would apply it, within 3 to 5 minutes my dog would run around and try to get it off by rubbing in his bed or on the rug. I also noticed that his demeanour would change and he would just lie in one area of the house like he was sick for the entire day and then go back to normal the next day. My local vet told me that the Certifect has been known to kill dogs and have other side effects.
My question is “Are there any other treatments that are just as effective as the Certifect but without the side effects?”

I tried the Scalibor flea/tick collar, it worked for the first 6 months (yes a flea/tick collar that lasts that long) but she started loosing her fur around her neck the second time around, so stopped that immediatly. Can you use Frontline on a dog and also use a flea killing spray after a few days and the fleas come back?

I used frontline plus on my cats for 6 months! It didn’t even make a subtle change in on cat that was absolutely covered in fleas! For $50-60 bucks a box it should’ve at least kept them at bay! Plus flea shampoos are only good for one thing! Which is hitting the infestation with a one 2 punch until you apply the actual flea medication!

Frontline is worthless. Tear up $70 and flush it down the toilet. Much faster and easier ☺️
Finding that none of these work and it's frustrating.

Have you tried diatomaceous earth? Don't put directly on cats ever but use in your yard. There is food grade and non food grade. Research. How it works is it dries out the flea of it's moisture and it flat out dies. Definitely research how much to use because it may harm other natural pest and small animals. Food grade is less harmful. Good luck. Let us know how it works! You can easily buy it online. Also health food stores. Again try for the food grade. Less harmful to the cats. It can irritate lungs if you breath too much dust for humans and pets.calso wear gloves as it will dry out your skin.

I tried Advantage II on my puppy & he still got fleas. Thought I was doing the right thing heading off a potential infestation but I guess it's hit or miss with these products.

Try coconut oil. Get unscented if she seems bothered by the smell.

I used to use that white milky liquid flea dip and it was cheap concentrate . you used one capful of the white concentrate in a litre of water and washed the dog down drip dry . you could then use 3 cap fulls in 2 litres of water in spray bottle and spray the whole house inside with it and no more fleas. I've forgotten the name of the product I jus know its milky white. and has a lousey smell. anyone know the product let us know I haven't used it for years?.
