Plant some lavender. Not only does it smell really nice but fleas do not like it when lavender is planted. A natural flea repellent.
Also rosemary. It also helps & tastes great on tri tip.

My sisters rodent cats brought in fleas into the house. I bought this for my black lab, and she’s the only one in the house who hasn’t gotten any fleas. Can confirm this works great 👍
I ain’t one to review ...but trust me this product works
Does not work for me. Two fingers between the collar, did everything according to the manual, they are still alive after weeks.
Right worked wonders for me on both my dogs and both my cats
@Quandar we also tried them and it didn't work for us as well. BUT, we bought the collars on eBay, and based on the seller reviews, anybody who bought from that seller said the collar was counterfeit. So now that I did my research, I will try again but from an authentic website.
Olga Loyko glad I read this thank you got mine from Walmart. Never really had a problem with fleas for the 2 years I’ve had my dog but for some reason this year they are bad !! Was using the k9advantex || so decided to try this collar. Makes me feel bad to watch him scratch! Both k9advantax and seresto made by the same company BAYER !
@@olkaolga how about serestozz.com it says it is the offical website of seresto but so does this one serestoonly.com
I loved the zip tie trick... so simple, yet so effective! Thanks!
I was skeptical when I first heard of them and a 70 bucks a pop. But they work and if you read the instructions it also controls mange. Well worth the money!
The best thing about this collar is that if your dog does have a reaction to it, you can take it off! Not the case with the topical or chewables.
Totally agree 100% Seresto collars are the best
I want to thank you for this video! My vet tech actually cut the collar too short! (My dog is a little too rambunctious lol) I thought of zip ties because she's already scratched it out of the last loop a few times just today. So thank you for assuring me it works! I appreciate it!
Work great for all our cats. One thing to consider is construction of collar is made to come apart under pulling stress so if your dog or cat catches collar on something: tree limb, pipe sticking out ground, etc it will come apart and not choke animal to death.
Zip ties might keep that from happening
dude I love your accent....I am from France and I think you way of speaking is very typical and sign of different culture...I am in L.A so.....
U a city slicker he's a southern farm man!!
Hey y'all! I'm not on a farm but in the burbs and my dogs Seresto collars been working for 11.5 months so far... I bought it at Walmart and yes I paid $86 but I must say it's been worth it... we have a huge flea and tick problem here in NC with our woodsy areas and sand-rich soil and my poor dog was INFESTED. I had used drops on her neck and all sorts of home hacks to get them away to no avail and yes she got the house infested too... I even threw out the kids mattresses because she slept with them and it was a nightmare even with no carpets in the entire place! I've seen some bad health videos where the family claims Seresto landed their sweet dog in dire straits and it broke my heart but seriously without Seresto our dog would be dead from blood loss/anemia and infections from biting.... to us Seresto has been a true Godsend and thanks for letting us know it's cheaper on the budget thru Amazon!
Beth Lowell PetSmart and Petco is way cheaper 57$ and on chewy and target as well Walmart will get you
Also check Costco. The price should be closer to $50
Beware of counterfeits.
When I liived in Roseville, Raid or Chevron had a sprayer attachment where you could put in flea product for lawns. I can’t remember whiich brand but once I did the lawn we never had fleas again.
We use the same collar, works great!
I buy these at Walmart for $ 55.00 and they do work good. I agree they work for about 6 months.
I'm not having much luck with them.
Great video, the collar worked like a charm!!! I also used the zip ties, great advice!!!
This collar has been a life saver and since. My large dog has been wearing it my 2 indoor super senior kitties don't need flea treatments! I replace every 6 months though as it seems to stay most effective that duration.
It kills mites too!
Thank you. Been using Seresto on my lab for the last year but had to purchase a new one because she "scratched it off" and I lost it. I never thought of the cable ties but I literally (like just now) attached two and it makes complete sense. So again... thank you for making the vid.
don't use seresto!!!!! it kills animals!
I love that commercial. It's so cute.
Thank you for the zip-tie suggestion. Such an easy solution.
Worked really well for my two cats Harv and Mildred
this collar is GREAT,,,cured my cat in 6 days,,,,grew hair back,,,,no more scappy skin ,,no more scratching,,,,gained all her weight back
Does it start affecting right away i just got mine yesterday but afraid I won't work my kitty can't stop scratching I really hope it works
@@sarahsiliezar8154 my cat was skin and bones and on the verge of death from chewing lice,,i put the collar on and hair was growing back in 6b days and cat was gained all weight back in a month,Seresto,,was the only thing that worked ,,,tried drop and pills and they did not work

@@plasticmoon222 okay thank for telling me this i was just thinking to take him a bath thank you so much
Just got one today... hope it works... My doggo is a freaking tick magnet..
Mine came with three reflective tabs to install on the collar.
Good zip tie move
Yea I have noticed the flea protection I use, it seems the fleas get immune to it.. so that is decently something I could use for my 2 fur babies. thanks for sharing.
These really do work. Thank you!
We just got 3 of them today off Amazon one for our male chocolate lab just like Bella, our cocker spaniel Amd our cat, but thanks for the zip tie suggestion! I will be doing that for sure,
The best product ever. I recommend this product to anyone. Pricey but worth it. Use one for 3 large dogs.
I had the same experience with the drops, they became less and less effective. More poor Chihuahua is also allergic to the flea bites. Finally, a vet recommended Seresto! Wow, it is 100 % effective. It is an answer to my prayers! Thanks for your video and the extra safety measure- Seresto is not cheap! I also bought it online thru Amazon this year- It just arrived today.
Please give an update! Are you still using the collars and how is it working? I heard a lot of fakes are online so I bought one at Walmart.
My dog has fleas so I'm hoping you still believe in the collars after all this time since I chose that for my current situation along with treating my house.
An update good or bad would be appreciated!🙂
I have cats and most of them are allergic to fleas. They get a horrible skin condition from it. I did not want to put drops on their necks, which is where the skin condition is bad. This year I got the the Seresto for cats and they work!!! I was so pleased.
Thank you! Great info. Didnt know what to buy
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about these collars, lots of claims that their pets have had seizures after using them due to some of the chemicals used. Ive been using flea collars by a company named "brerie" for a few months now and they seem to be working really well. All the ingredients are natural like lavender and peppermint so at the very least I know my pets are safe.
Lavender and peppermint are toxic for dogs also
@@matt.s8086 a 2 second google search will tell you that you’re wrong. Better not to spread misinformation 👍🏻
There have been about 3% of pets who use the Seresto that have had problems, and the toxicology seems to point to knockoff cheap Seresto collars people are buying online from scam companies. These collars have been sold for several decades and only recently started getting complaints. I have personally seen other companies selling super cheap "Seresto" collars that are most likely fakes made with dangerous ingredients. Also, 3% could simply be a case of allergic reactions. Turns out that 3% of humans are allergic to bee stings. I watched a Vet talking about these reports and she pointed to the toxicology reports from the complaints and then pointed to the fact that everyone needs to be always watching their dog or cat when using flea treatment and reading the back of the package for instructions on how it should be used. Some people have also complained about having a reaction to them, but I wonder having read the back of the container if they had not and were repurposing the container.
That said, be very careful with "natural" products, because they are not regulated and tested as well or at all for that matter. Dogs can also have allergic reactions to them. Natural doesn't mean anything and can be just as toxic as anything chemical. Lavender and Peppermint might be safe for your pet, but you don't know what else is added to the collars to make them work. If they are working and your animals are fine then don't worry about it too much, but always keep an eye on your animals when it comes to this kind of stuff chemical or "natural" there is no legal definition of what that is and can be anything including arsenic.
“Peppermint and lavender essential oils are toxic to dogs, so do not use them. As for lavender, while it isn't toxic, dogs can have negative or allergic reactions to it, so use only small amounts initially. If you have a cat, do not use any essential oils as many are highly toxic to cats.” It took 2 seconds to prove the other guy right and you wrong.
Thank you for the information on soresto ,Bella is georgeous 😊😊💕
I thought this was a miracle product. Then my dog developed a neuro condition the day after I put the collar on him. Vet wasn’t sure if he’d make it or not but after 2 weeks without the collar and a big vet bill, he recovered. Never again!
I might have made a comment previously however I cant thank you enough for this product review. Saved my dogs and I a bunch of grief !!! Thanks a million. And just so you know Walmart sells it too. If you have a rural king in your neck of the woods... they have it too!
I am buying 3 of them. And thanks for extra tip. I learned so much from you. Anytime you and your family are in Dallas come visit us.
DO NOT USE THIS!!! IT KILLED MY SUBSCRIBERS DOG! ALSO IT HAS KILLED 1,700 DOGS. IT
HAS CAUSED RASHES AND DIARRHEA TO PETS.
You explained it simple and very well. Ty.
We use them on our German Shepard's they work great. Plus I don't have to worry about the grand-kids petting them.
This video really was a great help thanks
LoL I had just bought 3 of these collars for my cats. And the last thing I did was zip tie the collars to make sure they stay on. Then I see this video. I'm a ex diesel mechanic so using a tie is just experience for me. I'm glad you included this step in the video. My only suggestion is to use a little bigger tie. Lowe's or any big chain building store sells them cheaply in bulk. And they are just handy to have for other things as well.
I used Seresto on my 2 labs. During the 3rd year my 9 yr. old experienced a seizure. He acted as if blind & very difficult to stand up, kept falling over & kept bumping into the furniture. I immediately removed the collar & my vet said not to put the collar on my dog. I have it on my younger lab w/o any seizures so far.
EXACTLY, thank you. Like many "medicines", chemicals, pesticides, etc; there IS a risk of reactions up to and including death. This particular product has proven over TIME to be fatal to a significantly higher than "average" number of both dogs and cats. Please be aware the time, money and/or convenience this product might save you could also cost you your pets LIFE. Don't take the chance that your family member may be the one that is sensitive to whatever they use to make this collar so effective. Don't take my word for it. I have read and researched this from testimony of certified veterinarians.
Do y’all know any flea and tick collars that are safe for dogs but also still effective?
@@needmoreramsay They all have side effects and risk of serious problems. One reason i DID NOT use the frontline treatments I bought for my dog was from reading all the negative reviews. Then people have to read what a 3rd part like you has to say. I don't know you, nor do I know if you really did any research on this so I'm certainly not going to take your word for it (Given that you have not cited your sources). My vet recommends frontline, but I still wont use it because of reading about bad side effects, as I have already had my dogs using Seresto for a couple years without issue I will just stick with this. There is also the risk of death/sickness from not getting any treatment. I guess my point is there is risk regardless of what you do. One of my dogs got a tick infection during a spell i used no collar (forgot the name) But I ended up rushing him to vet because we didn't know what was wrong with him, so there are risks in doing something or doing nothing regarding any of these treatments and I sure hell am not going to trust a vets take on medication that works or doesn't because they know as much as we do about the making, chemicals, quality control ect related to any of these collars or drops used to control ticks. In the philippines where i live many dogs die all the time from tick problems so its a requirement to use something. I have nothing but positive experience with Seresto flea collars and will continue to use these until i have reason not to.
Obviously go with what your vet says, however myself and my neighbor have had two labs both unrelated to one another except for being the same breed. They both had seizures later in life without use of any medication that is supposed to cause them or make them worse. I just thought it should be known that Labs are prone to them and all dogs as they age have higher risks of them due to age related organ issues. Just saying it might not have been the collar but if you and your vet are handling it then do what you think is best and what is working. I’m just some guy but I thought my experience was something I could share.
Why would you still use this product on your other dog if it did so much damage to your older dog? Common sense would dictate this chemical is not good for dogs. It's not a "reaction", it's prolonged use of chemicals affecting your dog. For the sake of your dogs, please stop using all commercial "tick repellent", there's a reason it's used as poison on insects. ua-cam.com/video/0Np4qeZ_Q_s/v-deo.html
I never had any luck with the Seresto collars. I'm glad they work for you though.
I am using Seresto Collars for my puppies. I am happy with Seresto ingredients Flumethrin, Imidacloprid that helps to kill fleas and ticks within 24 hours of administration. Nice Video. Keep it up.
Yeeessss!! I started using this a few months ago and I love this product too. I agree with you about the drops no longer working anymore. My 3 go in and out of the doggie door all day long. They run in our woods and we've had no problems. That's a good idea with the cable ties. I think I'll try that too. I use the included reflectors as well.
DO NOT USE THIS!!! IT KILLED MY SUBSCRIBERS DOG! ALSO IT HAS KILLED 1,700 DOGS. IT
HAS CAUSED RASHES AND DIARRHEA TO PETS.
Thanks for the review Sir. Very useful.
Going to get two. Awesome video !
NexGard work perfectly good👍🏽
Thanks for the video info. Going to give the collar a try!
How did it work
Beautiful Bella ❤️. Problem in my area are fleas and mosquitoes. Ticks not so much.
Thanks both questions answered!
Love how much people complain about price when it comes to keeping their dogs rid of fleas
sam english lasts 8 months too 😒
They spend more on the other ones that’s only every three months for the $42 maybe $30 this is $57 for 8 months basically a whole year. People that complain obviously can’t take care of they animals if you can’t afford 57$ bucks on your dog then you shouldn’t have one
When it comes to my dog money doesn't come into it, if it benefits him then the cost is immaterial to me.
Don’t want to pay too much for something that don’t work. Mostly all the flea crap don’t work! If I sold something that didn’t work I would get arrested.
@Daniel Arellano be careful. If it isn't sold from Bayer or another reputable store, it is most likely a counterfeit.
THE ZIP TIE HACK, thank you!!
Ty for this tutorial. It was a big help.
Last summer Revolution quit working, and I had to find another flea preventive for my cat. I researched and asked questions at several pet shops. I tried a natural spray product called WonderCide. It did nothing for fleas, but my cat's coat condition improved after I used it on him.
A friend told me about the Seresto collar. I was reluctant to try it because my cat had never worn collars and he tends to get fussy about anything new. He's an indoor cat. I was at the checkout counter getting ready to buy Frontline, and when I asked the clerk about it she told me she uses the Seresto collar with great results. So I decided to try it, having been assured that I could return it for any reason.
I watched a brief video on how to unpack and put on the Seresto collar. I put my cat on the bed, fitted the collar properly, and he was on his way in less than two minutes. Within 2 days, all fleas on my cat were gone and have never returned. No fleas in the house either. The collar never fazed my cat. He adjusted to it immediately. Seresto works, and is far less expensive than topicals when compared on a monthly basis. It lasts for 8 months, but I plan to change it every 6 months just to be sure.
Thanks never thought of amazon
Get them from your vet only. There are counterfeit.
Yorkie at my house gets the Bayer Advantage Mulit. It works for us. No fleas, no ticks , no heart worms, and no round worms. A friend said it killed a tapeworm for her cat.
I live in the woods pretty much lol my cat is always fighting fleas. I've used this product for a couple years. It is amazing in my opinion. It will last 8 months on my indoor cat but on my dog that's outside pretty much always an I always have to bath I get about 6 so I say you're right great product worth every dollar
Good advertisement Daniel 👍Amazon’s should pay you for this 👌
lol
Hey man that was a perfect video that I needed thank you man.
Thanks for the video bro
I purchased mine from my Vet almost 5 months ago and although it took a full week for him to stop scratching, after the week I only ever found 1 tick and it was dead. I'm a believer! I also spray him with Neem Protect during the Fly season - it seems to be the only thing to deter the deer flies we get.
Thanks for the recommendation, sir! Are there any issues with a dog wearing this flea collar in addition to a regular collar at the same time?
No they seem to work just fine together, however we almost never put our dogs on a leash.
Thanks for the tips 😀
Great advice
Thanks man from Maine..
You are a day late. :( Got the summer supply of Frontline in from Amazon yesterday so all the dogs and cats got thier first treatment last night. So far, Frontline works better than anything else I've tried - ticks being the biggest issue. I've yet to find a collar my biggest boy can't loose, but if Frontline stops working will give your Seresto collar a try.
Thank you for taking time to do this video. should the smooth side be facing outwards or inwards touching the skin. thank you
Thank you very helpful
Smart! Thanks
Hmmmm! Maybe a new product to try on my service dog. Its very important to keep fleas and ticks off of a service dog. They have a high standard of grooming and cleanliness. I used Frontline for years and eventually it stopped working at all. I then went to Trifecix (Austrailia version of it called Panoramis as I purchase it from an Austrailiam Equine store online called Mega Equine Store) and he was on that for about a year and it was great as it does heat worm prevention as well until he started to throw it up no matter what I did so went back to Heartgard and Frontline but fleas become immune so if you can cycle through products every 6 months or so that'll help. But yeah, seems easy. Now to find an area on his neck to put it. I use several collars so the neck realestate is pretty well taken. But certianly willing to try it. I live in Florida. Fleas are bad even with a normal house dog.
thank you! getting one for my aussie, it'll be a job looking for the crawlers trying to fall off his hair
I think they are recalling them. Please search the news. ☮️💕
Love choco labs. Bella reminds me of my old Choc lab Sugarbear. She was great. I have a labradoodle now. And I really miss straight up labs. But this collar is on order now. I hope it helps. These NC fleas are unreal. Frontline does nothing. I started Frontline before fleas showed up. He's almost 1 year old now and this is his first experience with fleas. He's been on Frontline for 6 months. Once summer came, its like Frontline wasn't even on. I hope this thing does the trick
Hello im all the way from Singapore ( yup! Isn't the Internet a lovely thing if pple use it positively? ) :) Thank you so much for sharing ur idea about the cable ties! The Seresto collar I heard about it before i watched ur video but i was concerned if it fall off my cat easily since i know she may try to get the collar off. And in SG the collars costs about $86 a piece so not something i was willing to invest in if it was going to keep falling off my kitty's neck. Thks for the great tip! :)
thank you so much
The drops caused my cat to rub his neck almost raw, the other cat .. his fur is very thick, the drops probably never made it to his skin. Fought like hell against having to buy 2 Seresto collars at 53$ each. Very well worth it. This product actually works & you can see it working. I did put a tiny zip tie on the collars, just for loss prevention.
HA! I see you use zip ties also!! ❤😁
Welcome to burning the skin of your pet and them having heart attacks. You sick human being
That product almost killed my pup. She was less than a year old about 9 lbs and had a huge reaction to it. I was lucky to save her. Scary. Now I use revolution.
That's why you buy the one based on your dogs weight
The vet prescribed it properly.
Apparently not if it almost killed your dog
It's for dogs 19 pounds or more
I might try that. I know for cats, which I have many, Bravecto worked great. It is $70 at the vet and $50 at Chewy.com. It is the drop for the back of the neck and I can testify that they work for 3 months. We don't have ticks, but I hope it will work for my dog.
Thanks a lot for the heads up, ill be getting gabby 1.
Get from the vet or petsmart because the one's their srllling online are fakes n killing dogs almost kulled mine 2 weeks ago 😡
I just started using the Seresto collar this year. I've never seen a flea but the ticks still get all over my dog and they bite but after they bitten they die and fall off. That's the part I don't care for is that they have to bite him before they die which does not help with Lyme disease at all. That is my only complaint
must try that thanks
Just wondering how does the clock for 6-8 months start? Does it start the moment we open the packet? And does it have an expiry date ?
I never thought about using the zip ties, thank you. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful trees. Daniel, you still have demand presents.
Love Bella❤
We love Seresto for our mini Australian Shepherd, the drops and chews made our dog sick!
Are you guys still using it? Just put a new one on my aussie (standard), but seeing all this seresto stuff about seizures and death worried me. He was fine on the first one, so I'm assuming this one should be decent.
Great idea with the zip ties.🌼
It is a great product I guess were lucky my wife is a vet tech and she gets the from her vinders for free I have Great Danes AND they work very well
Thanks for this vid. :)
Hey Daniel, I too used the Soresto Flea and Tick collars on both of my Golden Retrievers as we live in a heavily wooded area, and being goldens; they love to go romp around in the woods. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after putting the flea and tick collar on one of my dogs, he began having horrific seizures, to the point where I thought I was going to lose him one night of a heart attack from the full blown seizures. After doing quite a bit of research on the product, one of the ingredients is a byproduct of nicotine, and is absorbed through the dogs skin. After removing the collar, and giving him a thorough Dawn dish soap bath to neutralize the oils from the collar, the seizures stopped, and have not occurred again for going on 3 months. I am very wary of this product, and after finding out that the company (Bayer) did not disclose the presence of seizures that occurred during testing as a by product, I immediately stopped use of it. Just something to keep in mind if your pup starts having issues and you're trying to figure out what my be the culprit. Big fan of your channel Daniel, keep doing what you do!
I’m sorry to hear that. Glad your pup is better!
Were your dogs neutered? Were they male or female? Tia
Bayer is one of the most disgusting companies on the face of the earth. They have knowingly sold HIV tainted drugs. For more info check out “bayer+Monsanto =a match made in hell”
@@katierichards3924 Does it make a difference if they are neutered?
@@rahulbodalia6366 neutering can have an effect on their hormones, including stress hormones in which case the collar may have a more adverse effect.
Nicely done and nicely filmed. I like how it went over and covered the opening and application of the product. I have a very important question I was hoping you could answer. Would you say that these collars offer full-body protection from ticks and fleas? I have had flea collars in the past that only seem to protect the top portion of the body which leaves the dogs still biting near their tail and lower back area. Do you have problems like that with the Seresto collars?
I haven’t noticed that to be an issue at all.
Arms Family Homestead That is great to hear. I think I will try out the Seresto collar as well. Thank you very much for your helpful insight.
I use the natural flea and tick spot on. Works great, and smells great too. I try my hardest not to use chemicals on my animals my boys will be messing around with. We take our dog up in the mountains, to the lake, and here on our land. I don't have a problem with fleas, and ticks on him. They even have it for cats which is great too. I had so many problems with regular flea and tick stuff. It usually doesn't work, but this natural one does. It smells like cloves, and lemongrass.
What is the brand name?
Arms Family Homestead Natural Defense.
I just picked one up today and looked up your video before putting it on my dog. Thanks for the tips. Note: $20 vet visit?! I pay $120 for a vet visit. Everything else, shots, collars, meds, is extra. LOL! Just sayin’😀
awesome
they have them at PetSmart I love ths
It worked for about 3 weeks. Bought it in early December after all the baths and sprays failed to get rid of the fleas and my brother recommended it. Within 2 or 3 days I couldn't find a flea anywhere on my dog. Now 2nd week of January and she's covered in fleas again. Still has the collar, it's not doing a damned bit of good, just like all the others. My only option is one of the flea pills from the vet.
Great idea with the zip ties. One additional note. Please file down the ends of those cut zip ties. They are very pointy.
I know this is 3 years after you had posted this video. Do you still use the same flea and tick collar to this day.
I soooo agree with your comment about the vet at "2:40". It's my biggest problem. I have 12 dogs and I want the good stuff like Comfortis, but the exam alone for my dogs is $2000 and at least 6 trips. Not doable anymore! I should be able to buy Comfortis over the counter, but NO, prescription only. WHY??
I purchased one today at PetSmart for 57$ with my rewards card! Since I moved to San Bernardino county he’s been infested with fleas! So let’s find out. My cousin recommended it
Pits n Pistols it’s been 8 months! What are the results? 😃
What are the results?
You can also give them the flea and tick and larvae chew it works so good it's just really expensive but it beats havi g to pay 150 per dog visit I have 3 dogs and we have land and that's one thing I have to buy I spray give them the chew and collar also frequent baths
these are the best. expensive af but they work
She says I don't want that on lol.i can smell that yuk .woof woof.lol. 😃 she's such a good dog ahhh . ❤️
