I always buy frozen spinach to make our African foods since the baby spinach is too soft. I like this brand. So fresh looking. Will try it next. Thanks for sharing dear 😘
I only tried using this frozen spinach for the first time this week.Didn’t realize they cut it that tiny.lol!Your dish is enticing.Onions adds a nice finish
yes oh this is the real definition of efo riro so so on point no duplicate your mama teach you wella round of applause for you the iru is calling my name oh this efo will be great for correct pounded yam
That looks so delicious and nutritious... I love eforiro but my children hate it... you know the way some children are not really crazy about vegetables? But I'm trying to force them...
My grandmother was Jamaican but i can see her cooking in this, the way you just used all that oil too. I see where their cooking comes from. Good video
Your little set up at the beginning is too cute 😍. This is how i know i'd love Nigerian food, it looks so flavourful and tasty. My mouth is running water, lol..Nice 😋👏🏾👍🏾
What I noticed about this EFO RIRO is after making them as long as you don’t add water into the soup or can I say you cook the sauce well before adding spinach after 30 Minutes you remove them from heat you will not see any water in the soup. 😀😀 this is what happened to the one I cooked yesterday with olive oil 🤣 you can check it out it was very delicious 😋 Cookingandlifestylewithtessy channel to see it. This looks very delicious make sure you check out that my olive oil version of EFO RIRO 😀😀 lol thanks for sharing darling. I use fresh spinach more than frozen ones 😍😍
Thank You Hanot for your beautiful recipes. I am a new subbie and I’m loving your channel and watching videos back to back. If it’s okay, going forward will you please be listing the ingredients used in the description box? So at a glance, viewers can easily identify and itemize the ingredients used. Thank you and God bless
Job welldone! You did a fantastic job here, I know how hard it takes to cook, And I respect your effort on that!, Now haven’t said this, I would however suggest that next time you wanna make recipe and it happens you wanna use frozen spinach, bring it out from your freezer beforehand, that’s one! Then. Secondly! Didn’t you think you removed too much nutrients from the spinach when you were squeezing out the water? Tho! I don’t know what “Efo Riro” means! But whatever it mean! I think the nutrients that was lost from the spinach would had makes it more authentic, my opinion ✋! Then the onions added was great! Anyways thanks for sharing, and I hope to see more of this!
Looking nice and inviting. Learn a lot from the video. Thanks for sharing. I clicked the Facebook support group for Nigeria UA-camrs, but not going through. I am new here, any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.
Great resources but you have to make it healthy. Using 2 cubes and adding more salt is not good for the heart and for those suffering with hypertension. I will suggest adding the salt and skipping the cubes and then use natural flavors which are all ingredient of the cube without the salt.
The only thing i can add is did you see how much green water came out when you separated the spinach from the water. All that green is the nutrients that you are washing away.

Wow! Thank you so much sis. I actually stopped using that intro ooo 😭😭
It's better to let the vegetables thaw overnight. You are losing a lot of nutrients by soaking it this way.
Noted! Thank you so much for letting me know. 🤗
All the nuitrent is out
How about microwave it
Liking and watching at the same time. That your intro with the vegetables is top notch. Abeg I dey come for my efo riro things.

Hello, trying something new! If you dont mind can you tell me what kind of peppers did you use in the beginning please and thank you 😊
I used Paprika, scotch bonnet and onions
@@LuvMattazTV thank you! It was very good 😊
@@sheleitadawson8880 am glad you liked it ❤❤
Please, I just got some locust beans is wet. Do I need to dry it before using?
Noooo. You don't need to dry it. The fresher the better 🤗
I Apologise for my late response 🤗
What do you eat it with swallow or rice?
I use efo riro for both swallow and rice depending on which is available or the fastest to get ready 😁
Love the recipe.Thnx so much.Pls wont it be so spicy without tomatoes?
Just out of curiosity. 😘
I won't be so spicy. You can use more of Paprika and few scotch bonnet (rodo). The onion and paprika will kill the hotness.
I have a question! Did u Soak the frozen spinach in gold or hot water? Thank u
Either of the 2 is fine. Hot water just melt the frozen spinach faster, that is the difference.
Please What to use in replace of iru?
You can just prepare it without Iru, Iru is not compulsory if you don't have it.
@@LuvMattazTV where do you get yours please
I got mine from Nigeria. I think they sell in African shops as well.
Please did you use tomatoes ?
No, tomatoes are not needed.
Delicious
its gonna be a perfect combo with eba or fufu
Exactly sis. Eba, fufu or Pando 😋😂😂
This is exactly how I make my efo riro
Good to know that we have same method. Thanks for Watching 🤗
Tip-- better to leave the frozen vegetable out and let it thaw naturally. Squeeze out the excess water.
Royal Diadem Thank you for your advise Diadem 😊
Can you defrost with microwave and pour the water away? Good job sis. I will try it soon
Thank you ma
You are welcome 🤗
What of i don't have locust beans? :(
It is not a must. You can enjoy it without locust beans
can someone list the ingredients please? i got lost at cow skin.
Is parboiling the blended paper and onion before frying a bad idea?
No, it isn't a bad idea. You can actually parboil it to dry up thr blended pepper a little bit.
Thanks for the quick reply. ❤️
Thank you for sharing x
You are welcome 🤗
wonder woman Nice one

Wonderful cuisine. Pls practice practice practice to drop the 'hadd" hoil'x thing. AAAddd!! Oiiiill!! Not hard is it.

The way you put salt is wrong, people are learning from you measure with your hand or spoon
She knows her measurement...
why is she pronouncing "spinach' like that
Use your dictionary and listen to how it is pronounced. /spi nich/
