Hao_93 Do you season your meats separately? Sometimes it helps, however, you need to be careful so as not to saturate the whole soup with seasoninh/salt. Check for taste as you go along. Best wishes in your future attempts.
I love your style of frying the egusi first in the red oil to help develop the lumps. However don't you think you can further enhance the taste by adding the locust bean or the finer knob known as 'okpei'?. Well done once more 🙋
Lady Ogo Thanks for your lovely comment and suggestion. I rarely cook with locust beans. well. Never say never, I'll try it as you've suggested. Have a blessed week.
When you prepare yours, you can reduce the salt and focus on achieving bigger or more lumps. It's basically a matter of choice & preference really. This video is about how I prepare mine.
No, I didn't have "cooking stick or spoon". Why don't you be a "Good Samaritan" and buy one for me? 🙄🙄🙄 Your own "fingers" are probably better at typing unpleasant comments on people's post 😐
Thank you for your comment. When you prepare yours, you can reduce the salt. The quantity of salt & seasoning used in this video was based on the quantity of the other ingredients and the outcome was perfect for I and my family's taste. Common you people hate when a tribe mentioned how they do things in where she come from especially when Yoruba mentioned that this our own way you flare up there are lot of ways of Ibo people used to cook their egusi for instance I have them as my friends and they taught me the Abia, imo, akwa ibom too differently which I love plus my Yoruba different ways varies from community to community remember that the beauty of Nigeria is diversity of culture
@Florence Edogiawiere, the amount of seasoning added was perfect for the quantity/measurement of the ingredients I used. And the soup tasted perfect for I and my family's taste. You are not in my kitchen nor do you live with me so you CAN'T know, or in your words "be sure" the soup was going to be salty. Don't sit afar and be making unreasonable, unjustified and unsolicited judgments. No be today I don dey cook.
Thanks for showing me that I can lumps with this style of cooking egusi I will follow your recipe

What is egusi ?
Adeline Ako Hello, 'egusi' is melon seeds.
melon seeds
In English, egusi is pumpkin seeds.
Egusi is egusi, which one is yoruba style. But it's nice

Ok, I hear you.
Too much seasoning
Egusi has a natural salty taste....with the level of seasoning am sure this soup is going to be salty.
How did you know
@Florence Edogiawiere, the amount of seasoning added was perfect for the quantity/measurement of the ingredients I used. And the soup tasted perfect for I and my family's taste.

The oil is too hot for the Egusi biko
Why don't you prepare yours and post it let's see.
It is watery and your vegetable looks dead
Vegetable cooked for 7-10 minutes is too much o
Ok.
