I'm an a straight guy nearly in his 50s, and I've never in my life heard of or worried about such a thing... it's like an imaginary internet "problem" in a world where women are competing against DeviantArt furry anime tentacle porn, and men are competing against "Fifty Shades of Grey"/"Twilight" cross-over slash fanfiction, for the attention of ludicrously narrow and unrepresentative focus groups that barely exist in the real world.
      Stop the madness!
Or not. I'm guessing that the sort of women who worry about this sort of thing probably aren't going to be my type anyway - guys find self-confidence attractive, too, and aren't really as fixated on visuals alone as the stereotypes suggest, and it's not very attractive when perfectly normal, healthy women cripple themselves with insecurity about the way they look because a few magazine photographers, angry internet incels, and whatever have found some little thing about women to complain about. There's nothing wrong with most women that just being themselves and being confident and smiling won't do wonders for.
But whatever: "hip dips" are part of a pretty wide spectrum of body types that the same guy either won't notice or won't mind, or might even find attractive (there's a wide range of fetishes out there, and "it takes all sorts to make the world go 'round" and all that....) It's really nothing to feel insecure or worried about.
I've never worried about it, and I've never heard any other guy complain about it, and after decades of being on the internet, I kind of think even most of the internet loudmouths don't worry about it... the only people who worry about it are the people who airbrush magazine/catalogue models for a living, and women who discover it through some internet grapevine and conclude that's a "thing" for all men....

hilarious to call it the "violin deformity" considering how the violin's shape has been known throughout literal centuries as sensuous and beautiful. like, people have considered it the most visually beautiful instrument in great part because of that exact shape. Just... complete contradiction to relate it to 'deformity'...

  • @dcdrafts

I’m an art student. Having attended nude figure drawing classes for years, it blows my mind that this is something people are freaked out about? Bumps like these (we call them “bony landmarks”) are a tool we use to define form and those are some key ones that I learned about my freshman year. They’re super helpful to make your drawings of the figure look more real and alive when drawn accurately. Even when those bony bumps are covered in fat or muscle they still affect how that fat/muscle builds and rests on the figure.
“Hip dips” are only a Thing if you make them one. I’m happy to just call it “evidence of having a skeleton”.

I've been criticized my whole life for having big hips like this. Idiots see me and think "belly fat." Others tell me I don't know how to pick the right size clothes because they don't look "right" on me. Confused guys who are turned off because they only ever see super straight or tiny hips in the media. With respect, it only seems "all of a sudden" to you because its been given a catchy name.

Actually, I have always had a hip dip and I have spent my life being chronically underweight. I only got to a normal weight a few years ago, and my hip dip is a little worse because I now have hip fat, which I didn't have before. And before anyone freaks out over hip fat, know that we are all supposed to have a bit of that. Not having any means you are underweight, and possibly not healthy.

Be Kind 🌸🖤 I'm also finally at heathly weight, when I was under I also was damaging my hair daily I thought that if I didn't have straight hair I'd be to different
I'm in early to mid 20's right now and I was disrespected by negibor all because of my appearance and how I get to work* ?
mfo spoke to me how some people speak to children...
I work with 3 to 5 y/o's daily I wanted to punch right in the face and tell him off but didn't..
My ceo worker that knew about this was out a few months with heath problems
this mfo put his child's life in danger when he almost hit the bus I work on!
I honestly have small hope he'll apologize or try this again so he can learn a court room just who the f*reak* I am.
yet- some days I just laugh about how rude and small minded he is...
      to believe I'm mostly a 8y/o 😅🤣
I hope to God everyday I end up with a guy also laughs with me about how freaked up this is! 🤣
and let's me sit on his car with him
I've been about this rude negibor finding out the hard way and in complete silence that he disrespected a grown lady 💯
also love to a get message that he spoken to to my bf someday about it believing some other bs believes like his my father or brother or something 🤣😅🤣
lol hands down will call my bf a frame of dad tho I'm that type of lady!
🤣🤣🤣 hope he comes back with what honey 🤣🤣🤣
Typing the end of this made me feel better about this again
I hope keep this postive mindset for a longtime!!
Also my baby face* I guess I have or just overall look of a child comes from birth I was born early 🙃 😅 so I guess I look younger
when my twin brother and I where 2 we where size of 5 months olds for example.
When we where 4 y/o's we where finally the size 2 y/o's.

Plastic surgeons calling it the “ violin deformity” is actually pretty funny. It’s one of the highest and smallest stringed instruments. The curves or “hip dips” only enhance the sound they make.m
My ex had hip dips and I used to cal them my love handles. Made it much easier to cuddle and snuggle ^^.
That and I’m extremely offended as a violinist. Have you seen these gorgeous wooden creations? Even I look like a cello and sound like a viola, that doesn’t mean having hip dips is weird or wrong or unattractive.

I was bedridden for 2 months and lost all of the muscle in my legs. One day, clutching my walking frame, I looked in the hospital bathroom mirror. My hip dips were gone! I won't pretend I wasn't pleased. But as I recovered and began to walk again, my hip dips gradually returned. I realised I was almost wishing away my able body for some arbitrary standard of beaty. Watching this for the first time, 2 years after you made it. It’s still so relevant. I’ve been self conscious about my big butt and hip dips since I was a pre-teen. I’m 57 now. I look back at the pics of my youth and ask myself: “Why were you, are you, obsessed about those?” I’ve spent time and money trying to get rid of, or reduce them. Only to find out they really don’t matter. Such a sad way to have spent so many minutes, hours, days of my life. This year, I will wear what I want. I won’t obsess about by butt, hip dips, or anything else about my body. I will only hope my whole body makes it another year, so I can have one year of my life when I didn’t almost hate it. Maybe I’ll get blessed with even more after that. Thank you for doing this and making yourself so vulnerable in order to help others. 🙏🏼💕

However, many lay people believe the kidneys are just above the natural waist, rather than being entirely protected by the rib cage, so, if you, like many people, had been led astray in knowing where exactly your internal organs lie... yeah, that's a reasonable descriptor of the location.
...Were the circumstances different, I would have thought you were trolling me, as I used to spend an inordinate amount of time, and words explaining the actual location of one's kidneys to people - and the unlikeliness of accidentally damaging them through blunt force trauma; particularly when compared damage or loss of function through aging, lifestyle choices, or other untreated medical issues - to the point where friends and I would make jokes about "imaginary kidneys".

I am nearing 60, and throughout my life I've always been petite, but not particularly pretty. I am 5ft2in and around 7st6lb, and apart from being heaviest when I had my 7 pregnancies, I've pretty much stayed within half a stone of said weight. I never had teenage spots and never got stretch marks from my pregnancies, not even when I had a 9lb son.Yes, my skin was gorgeous, but because I felt I wasn't 'up to the beauty standards I thought was expected', I didn't consider my skin as a positive, just focused on what was negative in my eyes. So come the menopause, my body just upped and decided to puddle into a lumpy mess..my skin has absolutely no correlation to what on the inside, my boobs have minds of their own and have quietly been introducing themselves to my belly button, and the cellulite is just having a hayday! What I'm actually trying to say is don't focus on the negatives when you have positives! LOL! It's disgustingly unfortunate that social media, etc, makes women feel like their worth is in their looks, because we all know that most certainly isn't true.

But, the stronger my thighs get, the bigger they are and the more pronounced the dip becomes and I'll never be upset about being stronger. Also, Chun Li has hip dips and I love her so that probably also has something to do with how I feel about them.

Hi Rachel, I would just like to say: THANK YOU, so much!! I have literally NEVER commented on a youtube video in my life, but you inspired me so much, that I had to tell you this. I have spent all of my adult life (and some years before), feeling insecure about my body (my 'tummy rolls', 'huge thighs/hips', imagined flaws, chubby cheeks, double/triple chins (depending on the angle/photo).... but now, after becoming a left leg amputee 4 years ago - I've ironically learned to love myself more than I ever have! I'm still a long way from total self acceptance, and wonder if I'll ever actually get there - but I want to say: seeing you show and talk about your body insecurities in such a real, honest and relatable way gave me life. I have now been inspired to finally post a video for other amputee women like myself, as well as curvy women of all walks of life... so once again: Thank you, thank you, thank you! X

too many young girls wearing hip hugger jeans for too long gave MANY female bodies muffin tops. And having _hip dips_ built in only shows it off more....
I grew up in the high waist jeans era that seemed to almost tuck under your boobs.
While not the best fashion trend, it kept my hip dip body shape hourglass. The waistband didn't cut into my hip bones, it was all smooshed into my jeans....never needing a _spank_ to smooth my shape
It's like fashion brought about the anti-girdle body shape
