- In this week´s motorhome life video we explore the UK as British expats, visiting places like Chesterfield and Castleton in the Peak District. We experience the stunning landscapes and quaint villages, as well as the challenges of finding services like LPG and waste disposal. We end with a decision to leave the UK due to the impending snowstorm and reflections on van life in the UK.

You're not wrong about how restrictive full time "vanlife" is here, without even going into the weather and mud. I suppose we've got so used to it it's normal to us, but damn what we wouldn't give for it to be more like France etc. We do love lots about the UK, but we envy you two getting to run away 😂
Interesting you say that about UK churches, that's exactly how we felt after visiting Spain who go to town on them x100. We kept saying Spain's are like churches in drag, they're that flamboyant and colourful 😂 (to the point where in many of them Jesus literally looks like he's on the runway of Drag Race). But they are dazzling beyond belief and usually have so much impressive artwork.
I (Dan) am also guilty of the "stunning" (see also: beautiful) repetitiveness, so you're not alone 😉 But it's so hard not to say it in, well...stunning places!
Loved seeing Great Yarmouth, even if seaside towns can look a bit worse for wear these days sadly. Winter is not kind to them for sure. But they remain nostalgic and uniquely British.
Love Castleton and we've been to that castle too. But I can almost hear Steve's sharp intake of breath at 20 quid for the Devil's Arse! Presumably you get a date with the devil himself for that price
We both think the current state of British Seaside towns is such a shame. If somebody doesn't step in to regenerate them soon we fear they may be lost forever. Or to put it another way they were once STUNNING 😂.

No nos importa tanto el frío, como la lluvia casi constante y las grandes cantidades de lodo. El Reino Unido es muy hermoso, pero muy empapado.💜🤟

Neither of us have been to Las Vegas yet, so we can't comment properly, but as a kid from Norwich, I (Alison) loved seeing all the lights etc, I adored the rides at the Pleasure Beach and the donuts obviously, even though we didn't go often. 🍩

£20 to visit the Devils Arse ! 😱 Welcome to rip off Britain. It would cost a fraction of that if in Spain! Good job you can't put a price on a good walk with stunning views. However, the cold, the wind, the mud and the cost of everything is the perfect advertisement for moving to warmer climes in Europe.

The UK has some really picturesque towns, amazing views and lovely people. Sadly it doesn't get the cracking weather that Spain has, to be able to enjoy it to it's best. Warmer climates are definitely where we feel happiest. 😘💜🤟
