Why the heck aren’t vitamins tested in a CBC???? I was losing hair, had progressing peripheral neuropathy, was exhausted, gained a lot of weight, and developed arrhythmia and pre-diabetes. After many tests and doctor visits and seeing many doctors, I finally saw a doctor who decided to run T-4 (TSH was normal), vitamin D, vitamin K, vitamin B12, B6, and Folate. T-4 was low - I had hypothyroidism! The thyroid affects SO MANY systems and can cause so many chemical abnormalities in the body. My B12 and folate were low. B6 was extremely high. Vitamin K was high. Vitamin D was very low. My neuropathy is permanent because the abnormal vitamin and thyroid levels went undiagnosed for so long. Those abnormalities created a host of other issues, including weight gain of 50 pounds, pre-diabetes, liver and kidney disease, and arrhythmia that landed me in a hospital. I’m tearing up just writing this. All of this could have been prevented if vitamins had been tested routinely by my doctors and if a complete thyroid panel was routine. Why isn’t this done? How many others have been let down by a medical community that doesn’t put much stock in the huge effect vitamins have on our health? How many others went for years with undiagnosed hypothyroidism because medical textbooks and training tell doctors to only look at the TSH value? It is maddening. My body is a mess because of doctor neglect. I do not trust doctors to think beyond the most basic of training. This was all preventable.

Sorry to hear about that. I believe I have some issues too, but not that extreme. This is why nutrition is generally a separate degree. Doctors often have very little formal training on nutrition. They are just there to treat symptoms with medications and stuff for the most part. There should be a more holistic preventative approach to health. You can't force your patients to eat healthy I suppose, but at least having a baseline knowledge of how to diagnose and address nutrient deficiencies should be expected without the need for a nutritionist.

You would think doctors would get sick and tired or not being able to help people and that probably 70% of their patients are suffering but they don't know whats wrong with them like if they actually cared wouldn't they want to take the extra steps to doing their own research beyond what they learned? It doesn't make sense to me either because during covid i was miss-diagnosed for over a year with gallstones.. It turned out my first doctor visit in the ER wrote in my chart that I had Galstones but they didn't act on it because i guess tons of people live with gallstones without any symptoms until it bursts and they have to do emergency surgery.. Finally the 100th ER visit a new doctor said all my symptoms are related to gallstones and had to be the one that told me a long time back that it was written in my chart. Its crazy!

@@dotexe3426 In their defense most people kind of check out on their job a little bit and start to see it just as the way they pay the bills. They lose curiosity and maybe lose sight of the reasons why they become interested in the first place. Hence, they generally don't stray too far from their training unless they have a personal reason. This is just the way it works in a system where work isn't generally a passion, but a thing you are stuck doing just to survive.

It's not permanent. Sadly I don't really remember all the stuff you you may need to take, as rarely does a single vitamin be the missing nutrient. With that said, look up benfotiamine; it's used for diabetes and peripheral neuropathy. Sulbutiamine does the same but also crosses the blood brain barrier unlike the former, so it's better. Try it and see the difference.

What a rollercoaster ride my deficiency in Vit D was! My level was 3 instead of about 50. Crippling insomnia, nightmares when I did sleep, often of putting my hand to my mouth and all my teeth crumbling into it. Teeth so sensitive I couldn't brush them, had to curl my tongue away from touching them. Intense, deep fatigue - doing something then feeling like I had slammed into a brick wall and could barely move. Barely being able to get up the stairs to go to bed. More hair in my brush than on my head. Thought I was going slowly insane. What a relief to be diagnosed eventually with fibromyalgia and a Vit D deficiency! I still feel my teeth occasionally to make sure they are all there still!

I don’t know, or understand why allopathic doctors can’t figure anything out when you go see them. I mean, really, they go to medical school for many years, yet when you go in to see them with a problem like vitamin D deficiency, they can’t figure it out. I had a very bad deficiency in vitamin D and I had to go to a naturopathic doctor and they figured it out on the spot. After putting me on vitamin D supplement, I started to feel much better. Four months later, I feel 100% better after feeling like complete and utter garbage for the past year. The funny thing is, my allopathic doctor’s office called me a couple days ago saying that there was a new medication that my doctor wanted me to try. Yeah right, ain’t gonna happen.

Vitamin D deficiency definitely contributes to Psoriasis too. I found taking extra Vit D (4000 IU per day) stopped all psoriasis (moderate scalp psoriasis), improved my mood, my sleep, my energy & reduced my general levels of anxiety ! I had never thought my Vitamin D levels night be low because I eat a healthy diet (lots of vit D rich oily fish) and take a multivitamin & mineral supplement daily. Turns out the multivitamin has an almost pointless amount of vitamin D (10ug) & because I live in the UK we don't get much decent vitamin D promoting sun for 6-8 months of the year. I'll be sticking with 4000IU of Vitamin D per day going forward.

I want to make a somewhat technical question: It is mentioned that vitamin D can improve the condition in people with depression, and it has been studied that there are vitamin D receptors in the brain. Now, it is also mentioned that vitamin D should be consumed together with vitamin K2 to prevent calcifications in the arteries. What vitamin K2 does is ensure that the calcium in vitamin D is absorbed specifically in the bones and not in another part of the body. So the question is this: Doesn't the availability of vitamin D along with vitamin K2 cause it to go only to the bones and not go to the brain receptors? That is to say... by taking vitamin K2 do we cancel out any emotional well-being that vitamin D alone can produce? I appreciate anyone who can provide me with some information on this matter. Greetings.

My doc tested my vitamin d after getting off the vitamin d megadoses and they were low according to the vitamin d test i took after seeing my doc. I tried taking a small amount after taking rhat vitamin d test and i got severe jaw pain from that as well. How much vitamin k and what form are you supposed to take with d3? I take plenty of magnesium now. I feel like that lady you mentioned where she had focus and fatigue issues. Im also in a health group that recommends not taking vitamin d and that it may be a vitamib d absorption issue that can be helped with rosmarinic acid and to be weary of vitamin d because it is used in rat poison. So vitamin d is something im confused about and scared of trying again

You don't mega dose forever, just until you get your levels up to what is good for you! After raising your levels you take a maintenance dose. Chiropractors/functional medicine Drs/Nutritionists sell higher quality vitamins/supplements, that are more absorbable and bioavailable! You need to make sure it's Cholecalciferol which is D3 preferably with vitamin K in it or must take K with your D3. I use an Emulsified liquid drop D3/K, it bypasses the liver and raises my level faster than any cheap over the counter junk. Good luck 😊

10,000IUs over 2 months = 600,000IUs. This is a lethal and toxic dose of vitamin D. 300,000IUs is the absolute maximum tolerance, even for those with a severe deficiency. Vitmin D toxicity is no laughing matter and yet you don't cover this in your video at all.
Also, none of your videos talk of any drawbacks with the practices youn advocate. For instance, it is widely accepted that L-tyrosine comes with cardiovascular risks. Also, L-tyrosine and stimulant medications interact. And yet, you're marketing L-tyrosine supplements to people with ADHD who are likely on stimulant medication without mentioning the dangers.
Your degree is in naturopathic medicine from a university that is widely regarded as producing students versed only in pseudoscience. The fact that you're targeting ADHDers like this sickens me. You sicken me.
