  • What are the signs of vitamin D deficiency? Vitamin D greatly influences the systems of our body from ensuring calcium supply to our bones to strengthening our immune system. We normally get this vitamin from foods, supplements, and the sun’s rays, but when something goes wrong and we face vitamin D deficiency, our body systems may break.
For example, sweating that seems a little excessive or not brought on by anything particularly obvious, however, can be a sign that you’re lacking vitamin D. So what other signs show a deficiency, how serious is the problem, and what can you do to get more of it? Here at Bright Side, we’ve studied the most common symptoms of low vitamin D levels and we want to tell you what we’ve found.
    TIMESTAMPS:
    You sweat excessively 1:01
    Your bones often ache 1:35
    You have muscle pain 2:11
You get sick all the time 2:47
You can’t seem to stay energized 3:26
When you get cuts or bruises, they take forever to heal 4:03
You notice more hair falling out of your head than usual 4:52
You can’t shake the feeling of sadness 5:25

FORT MEADE, Md. Sweat drips down the face of a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier from the 200th Military Police Command during a Spin class as part of a Performance Triad program organized by the command and hosted on Fort Meade, Maryland, May 9, 2017. The three-week fitness program took place from May 5-25 to help Soldiers who had either failed the Army Physical Fitness Test or had been on the Army Body Fat Composition program. The camp focused on the triad of overall health: physical fitness, nutrition and sleep, by providing education and personalized coaching to Soldiers in all three of those phases of life and more: By Master Sgt. SUMMARY:
    - Without vitamin D, your bones can’t absorb the necessary amount of calcium to create healthy bone tissue, causing a weakening of the bones known as osteomalacia.
    - In addition to aching bones and muscles, a lack of vitamin D can cause chronic pain throughout the entire body. This debilitating condition is known as fibromyalgia, and it makes life a living nightmare for those who suffer from it!
    - Suffering from your 4th or 5th virus this year? It may be because a lack of vitamin D is causing your immune system to work poorly.
    - It’s 4 pm and you feel like you have two bricks as eyelids and barely have the strength to get up from your desk. Sound familiar? There could be quite a few reasons for this feeling. But it can also be due to a lack of vitamin D.
    - Does it seem like your small wounds and injuries take longer to heal than everyone else’s? But this kind of slow healing can also be because of a lack of (say it with me) vitamin D!
    - The average person loses anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs from their head every day. But if you suffer from a lack of vitamin D, you can lose way more than that, at least enough to notice that something’s definitely not right.
    - According to Psychology Today, vitamin D is the only vitamin that is also a hormone. In studies on the relationship between vitamin D and depression, scientists discovered traces of the vitamin on cells found in the regions where depression resides.
    - Vitamin D can be attained by spending time outside. According to The Arthritis Foundation, spending 10-15 minutes in the sun every other day or so can help replenish your vitamin D levels. Even sitting by an open window can help give you more vitamin D!

I had been getting new muscular pains that were taking over my life. Felt like new injuries and I didn’t know why . Started taking liquid Vit D3 amd saw huge improvement.
A special side note! My primary dr said I just needed 800IU/ daily.
I have a naturopath doctor and she said no take about 4,000IU a day and that when I felt a huge difference. Of course after 8 weeks I will be testing my Vit D levels !

I'm 27. Ever since I was 13, I've had extremely debilitating shin splints. It was so painful to run or jump. Simple exercises like jumping jacks were not an option for me. I've also gotten sick more than other people normally do all my life. Looking back, I didn't spend much time outside and didnt get much sunlight. Let me tell you, after I started taking 5,000 IU a day of vitamin d3, along with a calcium supplement, my shin splints went away almost completely. After a few more weeks, they had vanished. They never came back because I keep taking my vitamin D3 and Calcium every day. I also used to have joint pain, particularly in my knees. That's gone too. I never thought 20 dollars worth of vitamins from Walmart would have improved my quality of life so much.

I started taking them 5 weeks ago, not thinking much of it and my energy and brighter mood have increased so much! I've suffered with moderate depression, on and off for years and low energy the past few years (I'm 40) and I'm shocked how different I'm feeling at the moment. At my last physical, I got diagnosed with a Vitamin D deficiency. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Vitamin D pills (5,000 ICU), though you can buy those over-the-counter. I did notice that it helped my mood, though I'm also taking Zoloft at the moment to help with that. My parents also take Vitamin D supplements. In fact, their doctor told them that people in the Midwestern United States (we live in Ohio) have a high tendency to have Vitamin D deficiencies. So, if you live in the Midwest, you might want to get checked for this.

Must have a better Dr. than me. I have deficiencies in B12, folic acid and severe deficiencies it D3 and my doctor said I was normal. I am right above the 300 range in vitamin D, which is the lowest i should be and she thinks that’s OK. I have left her practice because all she wants to do is throw drugs at problems and when I try to discuss these kinds of things, her eyes roll back into her head. I can’t believe how wonderful UA-cam is in what great doctors are here to help us with these problems. Thank you thank you for all your help. I have the exact same symptoms! I sweat in the winter when it's snowing, and when I'm in air conditioning. Plus, my hair is so thin and I have bald patches, and I had my levels checked and they were low. So I need to get in the sun more, and my doctor prescribed a blue gel pill I have to take once a week. Oh, I'm 39, and I started losing my hair at 35-36. I thought it was because I stopped taking my birth control pills, and went on an IUD. So who really knows what's causing all these things? I hope it's as easy as getting more vitamin D!

Was told I was both b-12 and vitamin d deficient last week by my doctor. I just realized I had at least two of these symptoms for months! I would sweat profusely even when sitting down and withjust a t shirt and shorts as well as having severe muscle pains almost daily. It made no sense to me because I had neither worked out or over strained my body. Now that I have watched this video, I think it could have been coming from my vitamin deficiency.

      1. I don't feel general weakness anymore.
      2. I have surplus energy, even though it's time to sleep, I feel like I can run a marathon.
      3. My body's endurance has increased a lot, even though I don't even exercise at all, I can lift heavier than I could before for a longer time.

    • @shubhamsurana6538
      @shubhamsurana6538 4 роки тому

@Ash Rav I took Vitamin D3 capsules of 6000 IU, it's a measurement of how much vitamin D 3 there is in a capsule. I would suggest to consult a doctor who will better understand your condition and how serious it is. A vitamin D 3 test cost me just about ₹150, I guess. It would be better to consult a doctor first.
      I'm from India too.

Then she called me to say my vit. D levels were extremely low and she prescribed very high vit.D dosage capsules for once weekly. After the first 7 weeks there was a slight improvement but now, towards the end of my repeat 7 weeks, what a huge difference! I’m becoming my ‘real’ self again! I had these symptom for at least 30 years. Nobody ever suggested vitamin d until i had surgery to remove a parathyroid. When had to take calcium and vitamin d all of the problems except for arthritis were no longer there. I’m still amazed. Doctors don’t seem to really embrace the idea.

That's because vitamin D deficiency does NOT cause fibromyalgia! It can only exacerbate it. I've been taking vitamin D for 30 years to lessen my fibromyalgia symptoms. But I've not had a vitamin D deficiency in those 30 years. If you think vitamin D cured your fibro, that's great. Sometimes freakish things happen like that! But vitamin D is absolutely NOT a cure for it. I wish it were!
But one of my specialists told me that myofascial pain syndrome is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia as the symptoms are simila & some overlap.

@Dizzy Dots Of course it's best to get your vitamins from natural sources. And yes, I also take magnesium.

May be an estrogen/progesterone issue too. I used to sweat excessively, out of my face. I started taking Flax seed, Shisandra, ashwaganda, and Chasteberry, in a smoothie, the sweating has stopped.

Vitamin has not cured my fibromyalgia, but it has stopped muscle knots. I still has episodes, but my energy has increased and I do over all feel way better. Take with K2 and magnesium.

I have fibromyalgia and I take vitamins d, b, magnesium and calcium. Plus I'm a dog walker so I'm outside for hours a day, I believe it's down to all these things is the reason why I can still function well and manage my symptoms without medication.

My blood tests showed a level of 2 of Vitamin D instead of the normal levels of 20 - 50. But my symptoms were slightly different. I felt "wired" all the time, and could virtually not sleep at all, consequently, I didn't or couldn't dream, so those one or two hours of sleep didn't feel like sleep. I couldn't tolerate the sun at all - even in an air-conditioned car, if the sun shone in through the windows, I would feel faint and nauseous. So I could only go outside in the morning or evening. I do identify with the constant sweating! I felt as if I was moving underwater, against a constant stream. My normal patience deserted me. My teeth became very painful and sensitive - I couldn't even rest my tongue up against them or clean them unless I used a baby brush. My vision was also affected - I couldn't drive anymore. I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and now take a mega dose of Vitamin D every week. Although my sleep is still very poor, I do dream again at last, and that makes me feel more normal!

Congratulations on remembering the dream again, a major problem no doctor addresses or knows how to deal with it. Humans sleep 1/3 of their life to dream, which is the building blocks of reality.
