I'm 80 years old, and this mix takes me back to the days in the '70s when I played bass in a cover band at local dives and clubs. We'd rock this tune for 15 minutes or more and everyone loved it. Right now i'm teary-eyed, remembering those happy times. This song will live forever.
Hey Professor....I'm 80 too...let's cry tears of joy...how'bout it? My journey has been rich and deep and I remain so grateful. Feel like howling tonight. Blessings, Meg
Dear @professor767. I hope that you are still doing well and staying SAFE! I personally say THANK YOU for your contributions to the music industry. The "COVER BANDS" of the 70's and early 80's is what kept this country going! It's too bad that these bands never got the RECOGNITION THAT THEY DEFINITELY DESERVED! BUT, I THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
I'm 71 years old and been listening to and loving the Doobie brothers my whole adult life, not to mention my youth. The way this has been put together with contributions from all over the world makes it one of the best music vids EVER!! Rock on.
I'm 5 years behind you in age, Wally, but I too have always loved the Doobie Brothers. This collaboration makes me cry (for joy) every time I watch it.

I'm 64 and can relate. I used to drive to my local amusement park in the late 70's. Blasting my music all the way. It was music, girls, beer and more beer. 🤣 Those were the best days of my life. The music was great and the girls were even better. Did I mention all the beautiful girls 🤣🤣. They loved my car, my tunes and me 🎼🎸🎙️❤️
Isn’t it amazing that a “simple” creation from the soul as a song can bring such love and beauty into this world. Instead of making weapons of war, greed, fear , etc… we could create love and compassion for a world without judgement or prejudice. I mean how many lives were saved from let’s say suicide or even just a bad day by this one single song. Awaken people and live and spread the vibration this song is resonating

Thank you for sharing your marvelous talents with us.... All of the musicians who give your talents to Playing for Change are doing so much, for so many. Making the world a better place.
This song brings special feelings. My hair stands on end, I feel teary-eyed, I feel the love of God, I feel hope, love and courage. The power of the Lord is in people and if we just let it shine, there's no amount of darkness that can extinguish our fire.
Playing for Change is a most outstanding organization. Every time I play one of your videos I'm uplifted. To see these musicians from all over the world working together is amazing. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful rendition music is the best medicine for the disastrous war between nations ❤you guys GB
We believe in the power of music to unite us all!
This worldwide meeting of singers from different countries with this beautiful song is unbelievable.
When the song isn't yours anymore, and it belongs to the world.
Great response 👍
And that's a good thing. Music is THE universal language.
(downright...) Coolest youtube Comment 2020!
Absolutely Legendary Phrasing, sir.
In light of happenings in the USA , and now in Canada too, good advice for today, tonight and tomorrow. Bring joy to your neighbours. Leave your guns and clubs at home. You do not need them. You need to talk.
Doesn't this just fill you with love and joy and hope ?
2024 Different version. LOVE IT. Who will ever forget. BRILLIANT ❤😊
This is probably one of the most beautiful programs I watch

It just lifts the soul! 🎶🎼🎵🎹🎸🥁
What a powerful song! Makes me want to cry and gives me goose pimples
Coming from a metalhead/punk junkie i wanna say the layered guitars was perfect and having a choir back it up was perfect. Just beautiful
Maybe the most beautiful thing I ever watched. God bless you guys and long live The Doobie Brothers.
Thiago Herminio Bordotti Zanetin check out the weight with Robbie Robertson !!

@@mikebaptiste4566 it made me weep
I'm right with you, 100% of the way. God only knows how many times I've listened to / watched this video.
I'm gonna admit it... I'm 67 and I cried through the entire set so poignant was the message😢😂❤
Damn. Simply damn. If you listen to this and aren't moved then you have no heart or soul. I did not think the original could be topped but here it is.
Sebastian has created pure GOLD!!! Your dad should be proud ❤️
This song brings special feelings. My hair stands on end, I feel teary-eyed, I feel the love of God, I feel hope, love and courage. The power of the Lord is in people and if we just let it shine, there's no amount of darkness that can extinguish our fire.
Not matter what years or older I get, this song is always playing, where ever or when ever, that's my song, always.😊❤❤😊
Playing For Change once again proves music is the common thread that binds all of us.
How could anyone take even a finger movement to give this a thumbs down?
Music is one of the only things that all cultures and societies throughout history have in common
I watch this at least once a week. It makes me feel good.
I will never get tired of listening to playing for change that r all good singer's
Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons are still rockin'!
Music in the only thing everyone agrees on. Politics, power, religion & greed are what ruin us. Music keeps us together.
Music is indeed a universal language!
Tom Johnston, the original voice of the Doobies.
And Patrick Simmons & John McFee. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Correct !!! Nice...
Never forget Tyronne Porter, sensational bassist
...And Tom's daughter Laura.
THE ONLY VOICE OF THE DOOBIES!!!!!
Playing for Change is a most outstanding organization. Every time I play one of your videos I'm uplifted. To see these musicians from all over the world working together is amazing. Keep up the good work.
