Thanks for doing this great set-up video! I got mine and was trying to put it up in the house for the first time to figure it out (I'm used to much smaller tents). Besides scaring my dogs, there was just no room and I couldn't visualize what went where. After watching this it all makes sense and I'm excited to get out and try it!
Stumbled across your vid during my tent research, and I thought I'd share my findings and experience. First you want to make sure to tuck your tarp under when it rains, or you'll wake up soggy, or spurge for the matching footprint for your tent. Second I always count up how many stakes and buy triblade stakes cohglands makes a great one for a pretty affordable price. Pretty nice tent tho! I ended up getting the northface wewona 6p for the large vestibule. Looking forward to finding your vids in my recommended!
Yes I always keep my tarp smaller than the tent. The front part that sticks out on this tent is covered by the porch/vestibule on the front. I do need to cut 2 little triangles off of it that stick out a little. That'll also make it easier to know which edge of the tarp is the front. I'll check into the triblade stakes, Thanks!
I saw a video on the Northface Wewona 6 p tent and it looked like it is only good for hot weather as the back door part is only mesh. Very breezy and would allow a lot of dew to come in and soak everything.
looks like a great set up for a trip where you are spending at least 3 nights in the same place. I like a small quick set up if you are moving camp daily. its looks like a wonder tent, ride safe and camp well!
Wow ! what a big tent ! I could imagine you snuggling inside with your motorcycle 😅 . I dont think you should close the vent thats left open as its a single wall tent and its needed to avoid condensation , even more in winter with the colder temperature. This is such a wonderful video! Thank you for all the detail shots. And thank you for showing the tent in the stuff sack. That is a detail that a lot of videos lack! I am looking for a tent for everyday use while living on a motorcycle. I'm planning for all weather conditions. Would you say this seems sturdy enough to stand up to that kind of extended use? I have looked at canvas tents but the weight is just way too much for the type of off-road riding I plan to do. I feel like this tent would be worth it as long as I could get a full year of every day use before I need to replace it.
I motorcycle camp but I pull a trailer behind my bike. It may be big if you are just carrying it on your bike. But It also has a lifetime warrantee so it should last you a very long time. I've had mine almost a year. It's been through some pretty big storms and held up very well.
Always been a rainfly type of guy , was wondering if you have ever had the tent in a torrential down pour and how it handled condensation and how dry it stayed
Yes I've been in several storms with it. It did great no leaks. It stays ventilated well with the window over the door. So no condensation inside either.
A reviewer on Amazon said the tent stood up to massive and sustained rains. It looks like Nemo took a proper 3 season tent design and scaled it up. Definitely giving this tent a look
That thing is huge! I think you could park the bike in it if you wanted. Full standing room would be great during nasty weather when you're stuck in the tent for hours. Looks like it has excellent ventilation for hot summer nights.
It was nice in the winter with my Buddy heater. I had my chair and table in it. I could hang out an extra hour after I got up in the morning while it warmed up outside a little more.

What's the appropriate weight in dimensions of the tent once returned to it's case bag? Curious did you need to fold in half like it came or were able to roll it? Please advise & thank you.....

I get great ventilation sleeping on a cot. I'm 5'10" and I can reach the top clips ok. I guess it depends on how short you are. Might need a bucket to stand on if you are too short.
They all close except the one over the door. But the little cover on the front closes. That helps it from getting condensation inside. Especially when running a Little Buddy heater.

I also have this tent...yes! Best ever. What I strongly recommend, however, to those campers (like Steve) who might have "other stuff," or "more stuff" (like a motorcycle, for instance), is to purchase the NEMO accessory extension which zips to the front of the "porch," and which is called the "GARAGE." It's plenty big enough to allow a LOT of extra, covered and weather protected space, for equipment storage, or even to be "outside" but "inside" at the same time. Look into it folks!

We're roughly similar in size and build, though I think I've got 5 or more years on you - wondering what you're using for padding under you while you sleep? I haven't had it in a big storm yet. I'll be taking a long trip to Colorado soon. I always have storms when I do that. We shall see.
This is a great tent if you want to spend half the day setting it up.
Nah, 10 minutes tops. Well worth it.
That tent setup looks like an argument waiting to happen
new subscriber from Philippines 😁 nice tent sir.. hope your tent can deal in a heavy rain.
It has done great in a couple of big storms.
Been trying to get this Tent over here in UK for a couple of years unsuccessfully iam afraid
That’s a bummer.
Hey bud does it come with the porch?
Yes, it's included.
Where can I find this? What is it called?
My biggest concern would be lack of a separate fly and lack of bathtub floor. I’m in Ontario Canada and the weather can be highly unpredictable with big snap or multi day storms move through where it rains for days on end. Don’t know how this design would hold up
30° in what country? no rain fly?you might be able to put your bike in it !
USA
Nice video. I will have to look at this tent as I’m in the market. Not a fan of the background music playing on a loop. Would prefer not to hear that for 25 minutes. Maybe future videos can do without. Thanks again for posting though. Hope you are still enjoying your tent.
New sub 👍🇨🇦
We're roughly similar in size and build, though I think I've got 5 or more years on you - wondering what you're using for padding under you while you sleep? This seems to be the point I keep getting stuck on - most padding is made for little stick-people, not for us big ol' bear-sized men. Any other age/size-related tips you've got would be greatly appreciated!

Seems like, once that's all set up, you'd want to stay awhile
Just noticed - Texas - I'm in New Caney, just North of Houston. FB me - J.R. Barnes
I use a cot with an Exped self inflating pad on it. It's very comfortable.
@@SteveOutdoors Hi Steve, what kind of cot is it? I've tried a couple now and they seem too saggy for me and shift too much. Suggestions very welcome.
Love your whole set up. Looks great.
Over here in the uk we'd have 4 pakistani families living in that.
Don't let it kick yer butt.....lol
LOL, The first time's a little awkward.
First time setting up and you've already determined it's the best tent ever? Give it time. Any gear has issues. Everything is a give and take. I like nemo and considered this for overlanding but it takes way too long to setup
Well I've had it for 2 years now. It's still the best tent I've owned. Here is another video I made after using it for a year:

Geez you made that look soo complicated!!
Yeah that was the very first time I set it up. Check out my one year review:

Looks great but seems a bit see though..? I would be concerned about privacy with this one.
It's not see through.
@@SteveOutdoors oh ok. Looked light a lot of light coming through on the video and I could have sworn I could see the inside through the front.
Beautiful tent to much setup for me
It's actually much easier than I made it look. That was my first time figuring it out. I can set it up in 5 minutes easy now.
It would have to be tested in 30 to 40 mph winds before I'd buy one
I've had it in some big storms with winds that strong. It did great. Just make sure to use the guy ropes.
And the guy couldn´t find anything wrong with the tent??? Just watch how long time it takes to get it up!! I really hope this is not the pop-up model x-D
In my defense it was the first time setting it up and figuring it out. Sets up much faster now. Went through a big storm in Colorado last night in it. It held up great.
@@SteveOutdoors Thank you, Steve. What I remember anyway is that this is a good tent, because you tried it and you liked the quality. I trust in your advice, and thank you very much for your answer. Have a wonderful day!
you've clearly never camped in georgia during july
Why do you say that?
@@SteveOutdoors zilch breathablility...trust me on a hot and muggy night in Ga in July.... You'll know exactly what i mean.... LOL 😛
@@lambertwhite Yes I've felt the muggy weather at Fort Benning in July. I live in Texas. It gets hot and humid here but not as humid as you guys get.
Yea.... For $600.00 I can stay in a cabin for a week instead.
I'm about to spend a month motorcycle camping all over the Rockies. It's hard to drag a cabin around with me on my bike. Luckily I can bring my tent.
