Oh my gosh I love your set up .Its so cool and I never thought of one of those couches but I do have a Bluetti Ac200 also. My Small REI held up to 3 in of puddleso rain. Great video thank you for sharing. 💕🦋💜
ABSOLUTELY 🤗 BEST Review EVER GAZELLE SHOULD BE SENDING YOU FREE STUFF TO REVIEW 😳 WOW GREÀT JOB THANX
I laughed, I cried....I am now a fellow obsessed camper! Thanks for being so thorough and answering all the questions one would have!
Very good demonstration of setting up the tent. Nice to finally hear someone reviewing these Gazelle tents say it takes longer than 60 or 90 seconds to set up a tent and then you are done. And good to even point out things like pushing the ground sheet under the tent so rain doesn’t collect and a method for pulling tent pegs. Obviously not your first rodeo. A demonstration of the tent in the rain was also informative. Well done sir.
Got lucky with all of that bad weather, ironically. :) Didn’t plan on that kind of test at all, but it was perfect for this video.
I have the T4 and as a 73 yr old female I can put it up in 5-10 min by myself; much easier with a helper. I have to buy a pop up screen room but I’d love the plus with attached screen room! May have to rig up a cover connecting the two. If raining I sleep in my in my minivan. It was worth what I paid a couple years ago. Clam screen room with no floor will fit over a picnic table. Mosquitos are big prob in my area.
Hi - Just thought I'd let you know ... after watching your video, we decided to buy the Gazelle T4 Plus Overlander! Just arrived and we're letting it warm up (was below freezing temps during its transit). Our first camping trip will be 5/19/23! We actually ordered 3 other tents prior and returned them (Amazon was NOT happy! Oh well). We ordered the Gazelle from the manufacturer. So excited about using this tent. It's everything we were looking for. Thank you for your video.
How did it do on your first weekend?
@@redgreengrass Wow, thanks for asking! It was fantastic! My first camping experience and I enjoyed it all. We did have some good luck to be able to scoff up a cancellation for a lakeside site. That made all the difference in the world (esp seeing the dud we booked originally - lol).
The tent performed like a champ! Fri night until about 4pm on Sat, weather fine. Then the rain started and eventually the skies opened up. Two huge bouts of pounding rain and wind and the tent didn't budge in the slightest. Rock solid. We went right back to sleep because we felt totally secure in it. We shopped for months for this purchase, and even ended up returning three other tents (we hadn't even opened them because they were so light weight). This tent is substantial, well designed and assembled with care. We couldn't be more pleased owning this one! Thank you so much for your video.
We’re you able to get the floor any tighter or “flat” so many videos on this tent and they look like the floor is uncomfortable and wrinkled. That would work on my OCD😅
@@brandihowell4740 Unfortunately, no. Kinda gets to me, too. The floor should be a bit bigger to help avoid the curve at juncture of wall and ground. However ... small trade off for a dry as a bone tent! We were just in a horrible wind/rain storm last weekend (gusts 35mph, torrential downpour which lasted about 5 hours) and not a drop inside.
@@alwaysvictoria9455 my only concern in buying one is the Velcro on the front door. Any issues with sealing up the front door? Wish they used zippers maybe? Thanks for any real world usage info
Probably my favorite review on UA-cam. Thank you Sir!
I just bought this tent because of your video! Thanks for the helpful details. I can't wait to try it out on my family's first camping trip!
Thank you so much for an honest review. I bought two of these a few days ago hoping for the best. After watching you I think I made the right decision. Bad reviews about abrasions on the fabric during transit has been fixed (May 2023). On some job sites I live in a tent for 2 months or more, so I need a great tent. Right now my go-to tent is the E-Z UP Camping Cube which is great, this one is better. I climbed Mount Whitney, so I have slept in a shell of a tent. Climbing and camping is different, if you have the room to fit this in your car it is incredible.
Great review and advice on many parts of setting up the T4+. That Gazelle footprint is more expensive, but it is also incredibly tough as well and I like that it fits the parameter of tent perfectly without adjustment. Also, when setting up on gravel or rocky ground, put the 2x2 interlocking foam squares over the footprint to protect the bottom of the tent from getting punctured or worn. It helps your feet inside of the tent too! :)
I’ve never heard of placing them there….something for me to think about. I had used them inside the tent to protect the floor from the pressure points of cots I had brought.
Your review was excellent! I’m now convinced this tent is really thought out and a secure purchase. Thank you.
Great content! I'm an eagle scout and have camped in many different kinds of tents over the past years. This tent looks awesome. I'll definitely be picking one up. Thanks for the great info.
I ended up using the gazelle footprint, it lines up perfectly to where you steak in the tent and footprint first, then pop open the tent. its definitely worth the 89 bucks jmho
Thank You for a very complete test & review. I still use my Sierra Designs Domicile II that I purchased in 1983! Awesome tent. Hearing your review, especially as a Sierra Designs enthusiast,, has sealed the deal for me.
My order has been placed! Can't wait to enjoy it!
Fantastic!
We’ve just upgraded from a t4 hub tent to a t4plus and your video was so helpful.thanks
Great to hear!
A very comprehensive review of this tent . I’m watching from Australia and there is one major flaw in this tent that just won’t work in Australia , that being the gap where the crickets got in . Crickets are no big deal but seeing as Australia has many deadly snakes and spiders it’s a big NO for me , the other issue that is a red flag is the price , $3500.00 Au dollars for this tent is daylight robbery which doesn’t include postage . Thanks for taking the time and effort to post this review for us .
Holy Magnonimous! I imagined this setup in my dreams! A cube tent. A canopy over the cook area and a tent hub for my toilet/shower area. Now back to reality. I cannot afford that gazelle tent. It's way beyond my budget...but man...that would be my dream tent. TTOT, hope if you finish with that tent you'll send me that one for more use.
Best review of the T4 Plus on UA-cam.
Thank you!
Holy crap! A realistic setup time. So many youtubers/influencers forget the stakedown time and want to make every tent seem as if its the fastest set up time, with adding in the little things like you did. Great Job!
Exactly!!! That really bothers me a lot, which is why I emphasized it so much. It *is* easier to set up and take down, but only the part where you’re down to dealing with the poles. Everything else takes *exactly* the same amount of time with this tent than others.
This was a great review. Especially the ability to have a great view and be dry in the rain! Awesome
Being able to have that view from the bed was 100% why I went with the T4+ over the T4. The extra room is nice, too, but the view alone is worth the extra expense, weight, and setup time.
I soooo agree with you, Gazelle T4 Plus it worth the price. I have had my T4 plus for 2 years. Camping 10 days at a time in August and late fall camping. I add a tarp the mesh net then the fly to keep my heat in and it's amazing.😎
Love this campground, been here many of times.
Can’t wait until it reopens in April!
Your video was perfect. Thanks for such a thorough review. Our family will be using the same model.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and great set up! You answered everything i was wondering and i even learned some camping tips from you! Thank you!
I'm a fluffy dude, and actually find the 'D Door' of the tent quite easy to go in and out of...he has same T4 plus. I just upgraded from a coleman tent to a Gazelle T4.
Love ❤️ the rain 🌧 it’s a perfect time for a bath 🛀
I’m sold. When my back packing tent start to gives signs of wear and tear I’m purchasing this one.
I know that voice! I just stumbled on this video and stayed here because I too have the t4+ and wondered what the video was about. I instantly recognized your voice from your other channel. I hope you are well. Your girl must be in college by now.
An informative video that should have been made on what to look for an what to avoid in a camp site.
Just looking at the gravel floor I would have told you to get a different site. The signs were all there, primarily in the pine needles the way they were bunched up in rows!
Excited to use the T4 plus Overland edition for my family for the long motocross race season. Gonna use the front part as a garage for the MX bikes (electric Husqvarna). Thanks for your video, very detailed and I sure know what it feels like when it is raining crazy as we camped in a T3 last year.
Excellent review. I was able to get one a few weeks back when a limited number became available. Can't wait to get out and use it. Thanks.
That's when I ordered mine. I couldn't wait to get out with it, hence taking a trip when I knew rain was in the forecast.
This tent would have come in handy years ago, when I went camping in NZ and the country was hit by a cyclone. Had to spend the rest of the night in the car. lol and D'oh!!
2 years later do you still love it
God bless the nerds, man! Awesome tent, awesome knee pads, great review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Well , I got my standard T4 last September. I didn't get to use it , because last years Canoe Adventure got canceled. So in preparation for this years 35 Night Canoe trip , I set it up and tested it out in rainy weather. Glad I did too , because it definitely leaks. I cut a tarp to size for under the tent and cut another for inside the tent. At first I thought it didn't leak a drop. But then found water under the tarp that I used as a floor liner. Didn't find any on top of the floor liner though , so that makes me think it leaked through the walls and ran under the floor liner.
So , I just ordered 3 cans of Kiwi water proofing spray. Hopefully thats does the trick. It's sad though , it shouldn't leak at all. If the spray fixes the problem , which I won't know until the Adventure in September , then i guess it was still a good buy for ease of set up. I'll just spray it every year. Gazelle needs to fix this issue though.
What are your long term thoughts on the design of the velcro detachable floor? I've seen some other review mention that it can be a hassle to get the velcro lined up when using the door on the open screened in area, and it can be a real easy way for insects and even rodents to get in the tent. I'm not sure what the thinking was around that part of the design. It seems like it would be plenty easy to sweep/wipe out the floor without needing to detach it to clean it.
Use a cordless Blower. It's easy and quick.
@@SilasThornton1 hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
I was seeing these on Amazon and thinking...looks awesome...what's wrong with it?
Now I know...Its perfect.
They should be ashamed. LOL
I was hesitant to spend the bucks but after watching this its a no brainer.
The only thing I see that I'd probably want to modify is the ties for the flaps. I'd want to go with velcro personally although your friction tie method is likely workable where high wind is not an issue.
I spent $89 on a Coleman 4 person insta-tent. I've had it for 14 years and is finally showing some signs of wear. I was curious to see what's new out there and a friend told me about Gazelle. I've never had the issues with the Coleman tent I see in this vid with water/bugs etc and have also been in some crazy weather. I've never had to put a tarp under it. It has never leaked. This thing is $500+. Thanks but no thanks. I'll buy another Coleman.
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Great review video, thank you so much! Makes my decision on this tent easy, it looks great!
Wow.. your hand actually looked bigger than the tent there for a second haha.
Hello I just got done watching your Video an thoroughly enjoyed it. One question I had was regarding staking down the tent and tying the guidelines. I wanted to ask if next time you use your gazelle tent if you don't mind showing how you attach the guidelines to the tent and also the type of knot you use to attach the guideline to the stake as well please.
Glad you enjoyed this video! I have no plans to make a video on how I guy out the tent. However, there are many videos on how to tie guy lines to tents. I do recommend tying the lines directly to the metal hardware and not the pull handles, however.
Hi, great video! Helped me decide to go ahead and get the T4. Which power station is that?
Love the attention to detail!
Thanks for watching!
@@TheTechofTech you totally convinced me with your sensational review inclusive of view and downpour! Just found this in alpine green on sale and bought it on the spot!
Tried your links to support your channel but Amazon were sold out sorry! Can’t wait to receive mine and try it out. Summer’s coming Downunder and I see a beach holiday in my future!!
Many thanks for your great review - your enthusiasm is infectious! Hope your still enjoying your tent?
Awesome! Yes, I get out about once per month, though my favorite spots are closed through February due to lack of off-season staffing. :(
I've been torn between the T4 Plus that you reviewed and the T8. I've done some looking and honestly I can't tell a difference between them other than the T4 Plus has the screen room and the T8 has the walls. Do you have any insights in your research? If they both sleep the same # of people and they both have similar features other than the walls, I can't figure out why anyone would bother with the T8 and just go get the T4 and screen porch. I feel like I'm missing something obvious somewhere. Great review of the tent itself - thanks for convincing me to look at these. :-)
If you know you're going to deal with lots of rain, the T8 will allow you to keep windows open for ventilation even when it's raining, and if it gets really bad, you can close them up tight from inside. The T4 Plus screens now have their storm flaps on the outside, which is actually pretty great. However, if it's raining bad enough, you have to go outside to close them, and then they have to be closed all the way with no ventilation at all in the screened area of the tent.
My obvious preference was for the T4 Plus, especially since it's just me. I like the extra room over the T4 and the screen room means I can have an amazing view every morning when I awake.
man that was a serious downpour, I would’ve slept like a baby … great 🏕 vid…
Have you thought about putting a rubber mallet to hammer spike in also in your bag. I don't have to Gazelle I bought the off brand and I keep a rubber mallet in the bag for that use.
why dont have stove jack called 4 season?
Where was the extream weather?
If you tuck the excess tarp under the tent it keeps water or rain from collecting under the tent possibly causing mildew and damage
Tarp is always folded and tucked under. If you rewatch the video, you will be able to see that no tarp is exposed to rainfall. The site was simply flooded, and no tarp is going to keep water out from under the floor of the tent when the water line is above the floor of the tent.
@@TheTechofTech right on
Were u not concerned about your electronic device that was on during the storm?
Nope.
What size rug are you using in the screen room?
See link in pinned comment for details.
This is a game changer!!!
Great Video It's Really nice Bueatiful tent its totally worth it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great review, how is it in very strong wind?
Nice set up, tnx for sharing
Is the screen room area waterproof for a rainstorm if you have the outside flaps secured?
Just curious that is it possible to covert the room in the front (screen room) to be a second bedroom? And did the screen room get any wet from the rain?
Love my gazelle.
Thank you
Thanks for your support as always, Kirk!
just curious it is in cooler weather? We live in Wisconsin and it can get pretty cold in the evenings in spring/fall
This is considered a 3 season tent. Spring, Summer and Fall. There is a guy on UA-cam that has this tent and has modified to include a wood burning stove for Winter camping.
I am a little concerned about the mesh upper. - Even with rain cover, wouldn't the cold air come in through the mesh roof when the wind blows?
You can get the fly pretty tight along the sides, but yes, this is a three-season tent. People who use these in colder conditions will line the roof with Mylar blankets as both a wind block and a reflector of radiant heat. However, I’ve slept comfortably down to 36 degrees already, but obviously, a lot of that was having the right bedding in the first place.
can i know which part of jordan lake is your campsite? i like to bring my kids in that same spot, im from north Durham NC, thanks for the great video,
Poplar Point Loop E
You don't need no stinking blow up boat, just use your lounger. Fish from that. ; - )
Might just try that! lol
Love the tent. Which campground did you stay at?
This was Poplar Point at Jordan Lake near Raleigh, NC.
TWANGnBANG your community misses you.
Thank you for saying so. Family medical stuff means I can't spend time getting to the range to test and evaluate stuff, so this is where I am focusing my efforts. That said, I can barely make any videos for this channel as you could see if you sort them by "new."
@@TheTechofTech well you and yours will be in my prayers. God Bless and I hope your situation gets better.
What site did you stay at? this place is beautiful
This was Poplar Point Loop E at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. About half a dozen sites are on the water in the woods like this.
I read a review on amazon that said there was a 2 inch gap or something in the corners at the floor that let bugs in and could possibly let a small mouse in? Can anyone confirm this? I guess it would've flooded if there were gaps? Great video btw
The floor extends about 4" off the ground, so that's why it didn't flood. I talk about the bugs in this video. ;)
I’ve had the T3 for several years and never got bugs from the corners but then I’ve never taken out the floor, what for? Looks like a pain to place back in. As far as water I just camped in heavy monsoon rains for 3 weeks and was completely dry, off course I was using a ground floor like anyone should. Tent got really muddy outside but completely dry inside.
Wonder how well the main room will hold heat
In colder climates, people with throw a moving blanket over the top of the rooftop mesh, then zip up all of the windows and the partition. It is indeed quite a big volume to retain heat generated by the people who would be sleeping in it, nonetheless.
@@TheTechofTech awesome, I was thinking about using a buddy heater
Did you coat the tent with waterproof spray or not?
No. Not necessary at all.
@@TheTechofTech thx for the info
The detachable floor is a killer for me. Terrible choice in design IMO. I’ve seen multiple videos of people complaining about waking up to large spiders & bugs in their tents. I live in Texas, so that means scorpions, snakes, & large spiders.
I’ve never once out of 20 years of camping thought “if only my floor was detachable & attached with VELCRO”. 🤦🏻♂️
That is a deal breaker for me as well. Ignorantly designed I think.
I mean I can only speak for myself but I live in Arizona and I've never had a problem with anything getting in. Just got to check and make sure everything's sealed!
maybe some duct tape covering the vecrocflooring for the bugs
Aren't you supposed to go in front? That's an emergency exit
Are you the guy from Twang n Bang?
Yep!
@@TheTechofTech haha awesome. Very distinctive voice. I'll sub this channel too
Twangnbang!!! What happened to your other channel?
I'm now a full-time caregiver for a family member with a medical condition. I am not able to produce any UA-cam content for any channel, unfortunately.
Praying for you and your family.
Do you plan to seam seal it?
Completely unneeded as I hope this video showed.
Man, I've had this tent for 2 years, set it up about 100 times and still learned 5 things from your video. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
I have probably watched at out 60% of the Gazelle videos on here and you go into depth the best. You have convinced me to go with the T4+ but I’m going to get the overland edition. I cannot wait!
Glad it was helpful!
I’m a bit older than most tent campers, campus, same arthritic issues that some have. I have been looking at the T4 and the T 8 tents, thinking that it should be pretty easy to set up and take down. I’m going to try to find a camping store around me that might have one on display that I can see how hard it is to pull the sides out and push them back in thinking it shouldn’t be that hard I love this chat this would save me from buying two items, the tent, and then the screened in canopy, thank you for such a fantastic overview of this tent. I think you’re sold me on it.
The fact that you opened the zipper of that bag with one hand is enough proof for me!
It's so smart they make it oversized.
Great Review of the Gazelle T-4 Plus! Over all great video. I use the T-3 and have zero questions but still enjoyed the overview of the tent. What I found humorous is all the wonderful and expensive gear you have and you use a rock to pound in the stakes...lol
It’s more not wanting to carry a hammer in something when I always have a rock or piece of firewood that will do the same thing. lol
I also bought a T4 Plus and LOVE it!!! Great video, great description and man I love that campsite too. Thanks so much for all your work in putting this together
Thanks for watching!
You camp just like I do. Comfort is a must. I have a full air bed with legs that sets itself up and folds itself back into a bag.
I have a nice Coleman octagon orange full fly tent. I will be purchasing this gazelle...
I would just like to comment that this is the very best review instruction video I have seen for the T4+... I have been consuming gazelle videos for months. I am very very keen on this tent but I want it in green and I want it despatched to Australia. This is the first review who makes all the same observations that i would make when reviewing a tent.... I would give this video 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟..
Very well done. Thankyou
🤔‼️
I think a lot of prospective Gazelle customers obsess over them just like I mentioned I did at the beginning of the video. There isn’t anything out there like them right now, and they just make s much sense.

We had the gazelle T4 plus but only used it twice. It seems to be a “man’s” tent. Wouldn’t fit in my suv and, at 70 pounds, it was too heavy to carry. We spent our first weekend stranded in serious rain storm. We stayed safe and dry. I loved it but was impossible for this grandma. So, I sold it and got a 20# north face wawona.
I miss it but it wasn’t grandmother friendly.
why were you in your car when it rained if the tent held up? Why not film inside the tent and show us how water proof it is?
Probably the best review I have ever seen. Very good post.
Thanks so much!
Stopping this at 2:06 because I notice the Lowe's bucket, I am a semi delivery driver for Lowe's. 💪😝😁
Wow that was a great review! How cool was it experiencing rain in summer?! Haven't seen rain since early March
Daily thunderstorms are pretty typical for August here in NC. They can actually be pretty dangerous if you're not indoors, too. That's why I ended up in my truck for one of them. Hope you get rain soon!
First let me say thank you for this video because it's pretty awesome. Secondly let me just say that, dude you were insanely OCD and it should never take 20 minutes to set one of these tents up. I died laughing when you said that. But hey listen. Do your thing. 👍
I have a lounger, great idea. I managed to snag a T4 plus last year, so thanks for your setup review.
This is a FANTASTIC video! Love your enthusiasm. Also love how you have a TON of gear with you but bang the tent stakes in with a rock.
I have the t4+ as well. I LOVE THIS TENT as much as you do!!! Great tent and a great video. I haven't got to put it through as much rain as you have but I have put it through rain and yes, it is a great tent! Thank you for your video. Cheers and happy camping!
AmaZon has gotten greedy. That $30 inflatable lounger is now $40- what the heck??? Only one month later. Crooks
That’s their dynamic pricing for you.
I have been looking at this tent and other Gazelle tents. I noticed you said you can open both entrance flaps without staking it. My question is do you think I could open/mold the doors to allow me to back up my Tesla Model 3 trunk and open inside the entrance and either use the car AC or heat or sleep in the car but be able to stay dry with the trunk open and move into the tent from the trunk. Thanks! Great review by the way.
This tent is amazing! It rains a lot where I am but seeing your video makes me feel confident that this tent should work. Which I’m super happy about because I want a tall tent with a large entrance to act as a living room area/changing room (we have a truck tent which is pretty much just for sleeping) but most tents I have looked at don’t measure up to what I want.
Was the rain extended for you and short, apologies if you mentioned it?
Also, the place you camped at is beautiful! Thanks for this video is helped me decide on things.
Great review! What portable power station do you all use?
Usted afortunado lo felicito excelente tienda lastima que aca en colombia no pueda comprarla soy apasionado del camping y es triste no poder adquirirla pero lo felicito muy buena tienda y su equipo de accesorios
we have the t hex and its a great tent except for the one of the problems you brought up with the gaps in the velcro floor . We woke up to earwigs after a night of rain . Actually the earwigs woke us up .
Very cool review. I don’t have the plus, just the normal T4. It should be noted just popping up the regular t4 can easily be done in a couple of minutes. The fly and stakes, only a few more minutes.
Yes, the single-room Gazelles are pretty fast to set up, but they make the same claims for the double room tents, and that's just not the full story.
Screw in pegs and a cordless drill. Game changer.
Or…..just another thing to find a spot for , another thing to fail ?
The fatal flaw with these Gazelle tents is that removable floor, because of course crickets, spiders and any ground crawling insect will creep right in.
