- A letter combination padlock from 'lockmania' that caused me some trouble decoding it. But I found that looking in between the wheels can reveal the code following a barely visible red dot. But the the surprise came with the code that once can and another time cannot unlock the lock. The reason is that some letters are printed twice on some wheels - crazy.

Very cool! You have taught me so much about picking combination locks! Thank you sir!
Thanks for the kind comment. Glad you find my content helpful.
The two letter tip was JUST what I needed! Thank you
Great decoding as always Potti, that's a strange combo lock. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks. Yes it's an odd one with the double letters.
Wow great decoding & great investigation! :D :D Fun!
Cheers buddy. Fun after I finally found a way to decode it.
That is an interesting little lock. Great job of decoding it.
Thanks for watching. Always fun with locks.
Cool lock and well explained, well done 😉 Bravo 👍
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
What a strange lock! Well done finding a way to decode it visually. 👍
Thanks for tuning in. It's a very strange lock for sure. I'm happy that I found the weak point to decode it.
Strange lock. Nice decoding friend. You are very good at those. 👍👍👍👍👍🧡
Thanks. Combination locks are my weakness.
Nice lock and great explanation the same letters repeated would be a real pain lol
Thanks. It was a pain to see that the lock did not open the second time with the same code.
Another fun and awesome video Michael my friend👍🇬🇧😊😎
Thanks Leon for stopping by.
I laughed when you showed the double letters :O) that's surely a mistake rather than a 'security feature' ! It is strange that the end cap comes off also - another design fault ? Not good that there is slack between wheels allowing red dots to be seen. I have a lock of a similar type, but slightly different body shape (and numbers not letters), and that is not pickable by the 'pull' method either. Actually I had several of these locks, and so I took one apart - it was obvious that pull picking would not work, and also that if I tried pull picking, it would probably wear out the internal parts (zinc alloy) very quickly :o( These locks are now in service on my neighbour's farm gates - not very strong, but they stand up to the wet weather very well, and you can read the wheels easily in low light - which sometimes is helpful in this use. :o)
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, durability and robustness are main aspects for most of regular users. I also believe that double letters are pretty silly. But I prefer numbers over letters.
Thank you for the post and the interesting lock mechanism. I was stumped until you took it all apart and showed the duplicate alphanumerics.
Thanks. The double letters are very unexpected and drove me crazy until I found it out.
That is really strange, but it does make for a fun video! Can you make it open on ‘POTTI’? :-)
The lock can only be set to "POTII" - another bug ;-) Thanks for stopping by mate :-)
LOL ;o)) very cool! very fun lock, the manufacturer is a joker ;o))
Great job, thanks for showing my friend ;o))
Thanks buddy for watching. It was fun after I recognized the the double letters. Before it was quite frustrating.
@@Potti314 I can imaging your frustration my friend, it's hard to find a pattern of behavior in a lock like that LOL
Cheers!
Good catch on decoding, and strange they would use multiple letters. That would be a real pain
if you used an O or U. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers. It was driving me crazy that the lock did not open the next time with same code.
I thought the code was ‘action’ 😄 good job mate
Thanks for watching.
Nice job figuring out a way to decode the lock! If the tolerances where better you might not be able to "pick" it.
Cheers. Yes with tighter tolerances I would have had to consider using heavier tools ;-)
What about the ones that don't show anything. Any help with that?
What do they not show?
Thanks man)
You're welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
Very nice My Friend, glad you had fun, i think the double o and u is a fail from the chinese fatory
Yes probably a mistake from the factory but what a strange mistake.
@@Potti314 yes it relly is but still fun to Play with
You need very, very heavy tension on that shackle according to others.
Yes I know, heavy tension is needed but it's hard to handle with pulling very hard and operating the wheels at the same time.
ausgezeichnet!
Ok dude it doesn’t take 9 minutes
What's your question?
