Well in my case my energy spiked when I grew older, by the time I reached 29. I used to have associates but not real friends. But suddenly at age 29 i had the urge to socialize and form a great circle. But by this time most people I knew suddenly lost energy and interest in any fun stuff which they used to do earlier. I used to have more family contacts when younger but now i am trying to reduce family contacts and increase friend contacts. I have this urge to go party with some like minded people in Goa which i never had before
That is when a hobby comes to ur rescue, if u have at least one hobby which u enjoy and pursue passionately, u can connect with people of same interest, same energy and obviously be friends 😊
Agreed to all the points mentioned. I too was discussing the same thing one day with my friend like why most of our friends are not together anymore and why there is loneliness in our lives. This is the reason why I was little concerned about moving to New City for my job location because now I don't have any need to make new friends like we used to have in school and college but the thing is that life without friends in a new City can be quite boring and troublesome at times.
Varun you literally have a sharp sense of understanding situations, moments & human emotions and articulating it in your videos finesse!! Can't agree more!! Awesome stuff!!🙌👌
As we grow older and succeed we lost all our contacts with friends 💯.....just like a rocket....as it goes upwards its parts get detach and at the last only the main part lands💯
Why some friends betray, and some don't? What is the science behind friendship? How to identify those who don't betray? Is there any reason why they don't betray? Could you please make a video about it, or answer my question
I think it's human nature to be selfish and we all had time where we also betrayed somebody. I Don't think so one can identify instantly but yeah subtle signs as their friends and their little habits like flaking at last moment or trying to get you humiliated/or trying to dominate you and a lot of other things, "How they treat people who are less powerful/less in status than them"is my way to Know. No there isn't a specific general reason for anyone to betray and not betray somebody it's about their character and what their core is made up of.
The people who keep in touch leaving behind everything(selfish, hatred , jealousy, competitiveness..) in life are only friends. And if you want a friend try reaching out to them.. But hangout with them and then don't think of only gaining from them...just be there and talk about stuffs.. You see people who are super busy in life like Varun will suggest that always be around them with whom you can become the best version of yourself.. And that's not exactly bad either, it's practical approach, and it should make you better person, but those productive person around you are also selfish trying to achieve their goals, and that's not friendship... Friendship requires sacrifices..can you waste time for your friend to spend time with them? when there's whole lot of work to do, handle business? Can you make time for a friend? If yes then you'll get true friends in life who will value you and will know that this guy values " relationships" and don't think everyone as products or target them as an target to achieve... People when become rich they become lonely and they start spending money to have bunch of people around them ( fake friends) to make them feel good about life and their success was worth it.. See I might be wrong completely bcuz in this selfish world , you can't really trust anyone..but it's upto you if you want to keep trying or not.. Be genuine and you'll get genuine people around you..who will stay ..
Friendship is a give and take. Give and take can be some agenda, contacts or even love and support. No one’s gonna stay with you if you do not offer them ‘something’. So, I feel people tend to betray when they feel that they have nothing else to get from you and some friends stay with you because they do get something out of that friendship, guidance, love, support etc. And literally there’s no way to identify if someone’s gonna betray you or not, human beings are just selfish. If their best interests align with staying with you, they will never betray otherwise you never know.
I realised quite recently just a few days back before this video, and this video literally summarized it. I have quite come to a conclusion that 'beautiful relations dissapear in the midst of ambitions'!
There's been nothing so relatable to me as this video was ❣️🥺 , i never ever actually comment but this made me, you are one of my idols, inspirations and role models, I wish you good luck for "Avalon"
In school i felt lonely ,i felt no one wants to talk to me Later in life i got youtube Here everyone wants to talk me and got them to be listened wanted to tell their stoies via podcast vlogs much more Its awesome
I changed my friends circle 4 times in last 2 month of college , every time I leave them i thought i will be lonely but instead i find better and like minded people. Thanks Varun , You stopped me making friends with benchmate and motivated me to grow socially and explore people .
Well that "bye"at the end was awkward lol, but damn, you spill some crazy truths. Also, your videos are Podcast friendly, I'm gonna start listening to it while workout - Not too fast or slow, just complete value :)
Hi Varun, this is very relatable for me. I had a circle of friends for whom I was a convenience or the person they can reach out whenever they want to share something, and I was somehow happy with it because I got attention for a small span of time. I also relate and agree with your suggestion of marrying a best friend. I have a best friend (it started as convenience friendship for both of us) and now we are together for more than 13 years. We struggle to kind of understand each other grassroot problems or convince each other (may be our friendship was based on convenience at first place). This makes me question if I should really my best friend (who may be a good listener at the moment of sharing but we are not helpful with each other emotional problems). Would ove your suggestions on this.
It's also due to Dunbar's Number. As per Dunbar's theory at any given moment we are connected in a network of 150 people at Max. But the close one's ideally are 5-6.

I do feel lonely many times. Try exposing yourself to slightly, just slightly uncomfortable situations every now and then, and then your social life might pick up. Has helped me personally, it used to be 100x worse before.
The differences between allies, friends and brothers is best understood the sooner it is coz I sometimes regret having given so many chances to so many fuck all people. (Brothers might be an overstatement due to my age, media consumption and practical experiences).
Giving me Kunal Shah vibes with regards to your understanding the human psyche 🙋🏼♂️ major problem: I do not have female friends. Seems like the concept of marriage might be an issue huh? 🤦🏼♂️
Hey Varun, super relatable video there. But I think we can stay 'friends' with school/college buddies. Yeah planning meet-ups and stuff, no-one's gonna do that but maybe a pact could work. A pact to go on a short trip during holidays or even some weekend just for 3-4 days. This reduces the effort to once a year, which I think is pretty do-able life-long.
1.Friends gradually disappear. 2.Almost all videos talk of hostel, college, friends-same thoughts in different expressions. Writer's block. "Stop creating content" is the best idea.
Hey man I am curious to know exactly what your startup does (Avalon) is there any material I can read or watch to understand the basics of your business .
No it’s not! As long as you are doing well in school (if you are in HS), working on improving and developing yourself ( communication skills, soft and hard skills) etc… you will be fine and who knows you might meet ppl you genuinely connect with! Also, remember most ppl are “friends” with others out of comfort or to stop from being lonely. Plenty of ppl I know have friends yet they feel lonely. Loneliness is a state of mind and should enjoying spending time with yourself. If you want friends go join clubs, volunteering, get into a hobby etc
I am 27 now and the biggest lesson that I have learnt is that there is a BIG difference between a friend and an acquaintance.
