Most of MW19 looked better to me, from playing both, however this video shows MW2 looking better than it did for me despite also playing on PC at 4k Ultra. The character's arms and gloves, ground textures, walls, looked awful for me, like I was playing it at 1080p medium or something, just looked blurrier and less detailed.
I think the reloading animations sounded better in MW19, but MW2 seems to definitely have better sounding firearms. Also I agree, explosives are lacking a little in comparison. I feel like there should be more metal on metal with the reload animations though even still, I feel it would really make them sound better.
why even call it an M4 in MW2 2022 if its not even using an M4 upper and lower receiver? its just basically a heavily modified AR15. they should've named it as what it actually is. had the upper and lower receiver actually looked like the OG Colt M4 receivers then it could've been called an M4. pretty silly naming scheme. same goes with the Glock renaming that COD has been doing. why rename a Glock 21 into X16? just call it an X21 or whatever that it will at least resemble itself or make some sense. the X12 in MW2 is not a Glock 17 though, not a standard Glock 17 and not even the gen5 MOS variant. i don't know for sure what gun it is modeled after but the X12 looks more like the Glock 46 or one of the variants of the Sprigfield XD
My only gripe is the perk system... I'm more of run and gun but i don't use perks like ninja or others that make it easier to get around. . My perks are more for mobility and tactical and this new system doesn't have that... Unless they let you select them and still keep it this new way
I'm happy with everything about the game aside from the graphics, to me it looks worse than MW19 in most areas, playing both at 4k on a 3080. The sound design is insanely good, even better than MW19. The time to kill to me feels slower than the last few games, I find myself killing enemies slower, getting more hitmarkers, but it's still fast. I like the gun designs, they remind me of MW2 and 3, how they look believable but not necessarily how they would look in real life, unlike MW19 which was like COD4 where guns looked more true to real life.
It's a beta, they compressed the game down to 20gb, which is about 10% of what the full game is going to be, its impressive to me that the graphics are as good as they are in the beta
after watching this video, I kinda feel like MW2022 is a step back overall; something about the colors, and the general gist of the game doesn’t feel real.. in MW2019, something about the guns was done really well to make it feel like the guns was a part of the environment, but in MW2022, it kinda feels like the guns aren’t really connected with everything else. MW2019 gives off a more crisper look. I think it has something to do with the gun reflections and lighting, the reflections in MW2019 are sharper and brighter which in turn makes it look more “significant”. The color tone of MW2022 gives off the same vibe as CW did, with all the weapons being slightly yellow for some reason. Something a lot of game devs get wrong nowadays is trying to make their games too vibrant; more saturation doesn’t really make a game look better, in fact, it can sometimes make a game look really cheap. I think the exposure of MW2022 just makes everything look slightly off. Anyways, thanks for making this vid, was waiting for it since the beta came out.
@@kyantemori I’m sorry but what? The MW2019 beta looked awesome! The only noticeable changes I saw was with the UI and the hitmarkers… a games general look can not be changed really within beta to full release, that’s asking for a bit too much.

This is something I'm worried about, I enjoyed running a ak with the small barrel, no stock and no underbarrel grip for mobility and close range damage. With the new (more realistic) receiver system u won't be able to run powerful rounds in small form factor weapons. I know many attachments were locked out during the beta so it's possible guns like the m4 have a shortened barrel but so far I'm holding my breath.
The old operators in MW 2019 felt real and gritty, like they actually felt like they have been in war, the new operators feel cringy and more like cosplay or airsofters. the gameplay in MW2 feels amazing a d more tactical but i wish they would get the cosmetics right.
glad i'm not the only one that noticed. even the operator that has Krueger's voice actor still doesn't feel right or ig feel authentic to that kind of setting if that makes sense
I really love your comparison videos 😍.. btw is it just me or is there a really over exaggerating wind effect on the character's sleeves when he sprints and aims ??? 🤔
I believe the difference in the were and tear was because this game is meant to be more special ops so the weapons aren’t being used on a front line so there not beaten and battered by your average grunts these ones revive a lot more care
Thanks, Nick. I appreciate your firearm knowledge. I'm not a huge fan of cod but whoever designs the weapons pays close attention to detail and surely knows their stuff.
I like the physics and the kill animations better in MW2019..MW2,it’s hard to describe, but how the enemy falls or reacts to getting shot just looks generic to me…reminds me of bocw 😢
I hope that table in the gunsmith is lowered in the final build, if you use a longer than normal mag, it clips through the table lol Regardless, nice video as always Nick!
I think it is sad that they did not include a loading + 1 feauture in the game when you, for example, do a tactical reload. Just a small thing that bothers me for some reason
I prefer almost everything from mw19 tbh. The character models, UI & font, player visibility and readability, gunplay (definitely still not perfect), time to kill (was still too fast in mw19 frequently), menus were better imo, MWII just feels like it was designed from the ground up to be battle royale/DMZ, which it was...
Especially the lack of enemy nameplates which greatly contributes to the pure dogshit enemy visibility can most likely be directly attributed to them trying to keep things consistent with the DMZ mode. Really a bummer and might be the sole reason I save 70€.
I actually like that the weapons look more pristine now. I'm not a big fan of the rusty/dirty look. It would have been awesome if there was a feature for that though... In DOOM 2016's multiplayer you could both put a skin on your guns and then make your gun look as dirty/scratchy/rusty as you wanted to with sliders.
I really hope you can remove certain HUD elements, i dont need to know exactly when xXBooty_Clapper69Xx killed someone with an M4 and itd be cool to be able to hide the kill feed

I really thank you for making this video. IMO MW2019 is still better compared to the new MW2. Not sure what it is but visually the graphics and the animations are amazing in MW2019. So I hope I will have more reasons to play the new MW2 instead of MW2019 in addition to having already pre-ordered the new game. I am not very impressed by the new beta.
MW Beta was great and it gave me hope for its future and I can’t say the same for MWll despite playing it on PS5 it’s a major disappointment. It’s not the visibility but the graphics. I wish they stick to the similar aesthetic as MW and improve it. Only thing I like about MWll better was the gunsmith but overall MW is the win.
Yeah I initially had no hype after seeing the Campaign gameplay and the MP trailer got me interested because it showed some new stuff, but it just looked too similar to MW19, I've never thought a COD game looked or felt too similar to the last to not be worth my time as a fan, but this time MW2 is just MW19 with different maps, couple new details, improved gunsmith, that's it. They didn't spend enough time improving things across the board, it's only tweaking minor things.
@@MrZodiac011 campaign I’m excited for. MP looks similar and at the same not. Some guns lik m4 and mp5 look better on MW. CW was a decent game but I fell like that one is better than MWll. I was really disappointed for to wait 3 yrs just for this. I hope MWlll does justice to MW
I can't vouch for the graphics, but I can say that the animations have definitely improved in MWII. They improved the sway while walking as well as the sprint. They also added new animations for the inspect which was an afterthought in MW2019. Also the AI animations are more realistic and less robotic (when it works lol). Hopefully the campaign would benefit a lot from these changes.
Nice video and I agree with what you said. I dont mind the fresh out of the box look on the new one tho. I do think the graphics are better on mw2. Please show both games in the same light tho...this makes a big difference.
Bit unsure about MW2. I think the sound effects in MW2019 are honestly a bit better. You could make the argument that the wear and tear on the weapons in MW2019 fit the setting more, which it did, but it was still a nice detail.
Man, I hate how military shooters are becoming less and less grounded. Between this, BF2042 and all those hero shooters there is an abundance of fictional elements such as fake gun manufacturers, fake countries, cartoonish "operators" and fake armies. I miss the days when these types of games would, at least aesthetically, try to emulate the real world. But I guess publishers are more interested in milking those microtransactions while paying as little for licenses as possible...
I'd argue this is more grounded than most COD games. The fake gun manufacturers has to do with licensing problems. The fake countries have ALWAYS been a part of the modern warfare series, even back in 2007 (COD4 had the US invade the "Middle east"... but they never say an actual country name) Fake armies were also always used. Most early 2000s video games had the US fight against "Russian Ultranationalists". They never had you actually fight RUSSIA. It was always some coup that you had to help shut down so the real Russians could take back control. Happened in Ghost Recon 1, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon 2 with the North Koreans, Rainbow Six with Mexico, Battlefield 4 with China... same thing all the time. I agree that the cartoonish "operators" are a major problem though. I hate how multiplayer has turned into a weird operator vs operator super hero fight. But that's what's popular thanks to the MCU stuff.
@@enjoi9970 So was Battlefield 2142. It didn't rely on "heroes".. I agree with his point there. 2042's "setting" is so poorly realized and feels tailormade to sell action figures in the Target toy aisle.
Are you going to do a another comparison video on the multiplayer now in the current state? And on warzone? This game has such many problems :/ even now weeks after launch
The less wear and tear on the weapon is pretty accurate to real life, as in the military the moment equipment accumulates that much wear its decommissioned and replaced with a new one as to prevent malfunction in the field, even if it weren’t decommissioned it would still be considered unacceptable as it would mean its user is not giving the gun proper care and maintenance
@@ZAYFLXCod was never meant to be realistic. As long as it had a good campaign and a fun multiplayer, that’s all it needed however with the recent games, they’re taking on the more realistic gameplay approach which imo is killing the fun

I love how everyone thinks the Ftac recon (458 M4 conversion) is only semiautomatic. All you had to do was hit your fire selector button and now it’s full auto
The m4 model was changed most likely due to the US military switching from Daniel Defense RIS II rail systems over to the newer geissele URGI upper receiver, it’s the standard issue for most special operation units now🤙🏼🤙🏼
Heres my only complaint with mw2, guns sound very underwhelming mechanically wise, pistol slides sound too quiet, the desert eagle no longer makes its iconic "kachunck" noise when the player releases the slide and the vector no longer sounds like a vector (hope they improve the sound design)
Still, love the animations they made, but sadly I can’t find that much of details on each guns anymore, guys you can actually get into the gunsmith and check it out carefully, and compare it to the mw 2019
I feel like 2019 looks a lot sharper in terms of detail and lighting and could essily fool the common eye for realism. MW2 looks good but I don't think it achieves the same realism effect as 2019
Not the graphical leap I was expecting, considering they said it was a brand new engine built to harness the power of next-gen consoles. Especially when you consider what a massage improvement MW 2019 was. MW2 has no doubt been held back by the fact that its cross-gen.
Wait what? They got mw2 on ps4?! To be honest, this whole "older consoles hold back improvements" is a joke. It's usually a small team tasked with optimizing for that specific platform. Cranking the games settings all the way down and comparing it to maxed out on PC is a night and day difference. The settings are already there, now its just up to a team to find out what settings are most important to bump up on the older consoles and which to keep at low or off. The top comment also clears up some of the graphical issues talked about here. Go back and look at comparisons of cold wars beta vs it's release, tins of graphical improvements. This is just a beta, reserve your opinions till the release.
The new hitmarker sounds are terrible compared to the much nicer sounding MW 2019 ones. They ontop of that seem to be bugged and sometimes dont play at all... But at this point I wouldnt even be surprised if they did this intentionally as a "design" feature, like no enemy nametags, its laughable. Already cancelled my pre order, what a mess. Player ragdolls glytching out all the time too, like flying away after being shot like they were hit by a tank shell.
I think what gives off vibes in MW2 is the fact that they changed things for the sake of it and that ends up not being as consistent as mw 2019, for example the ui, lighting, sound effects, models and some animations
Yo you said that the ak-74u in MW is just a regular ak. It’s actually not you forgot to put the magazine in there’s a mag that changes the gun into the actual AK-74U and the gun becomes OP
I don't understand how so many people call it a "downgrade" to MW2019. I get that MW II isn't really going in the same direction as MW2019 but that in it self shouldn't have such a bold statement of saying it is a "downgrade". Either people aren't used to it or IW is really not focusing on pretty graphics for the Multiplayer, those are my speculated reasons why they might not like it as much.
Well no post game stat report has been a standard in cod so why cant i see anymore my performance of the last match that sucks, and i never hardly noticed when i unlocked something it old cods it had an epic drum roll, this gsme was like a soft fart, and the announcers dont get you pumped with there voicelines just a bit dull to me, not a downgrade though, most people didnt even realise they had to enable the highest texture streaming for the best graphics and enable CAS fidelity in the options

Gunshots sounds more punchy and loud, which is exactly what I want in any game with any sort of realistic gun physics. had the upper and lower receiver actually looked like the OG Colt M4 receivers then it could've been called an M4.
pretty silly naming scheme.
same goes with the Glock renaming that COD has been doing.
why rename a Glock 21 into X16? just call it an X21 or whatever that it will at least resemble itself or make some sense.
the X12 in MW2 is not a Glock 17 though, not a standard Glock 17 and not even the gen5 MOS variant.
i don't know for sure what gun it is modeled after but the X12 looks more like the Glock 46 or one of the variants of the Sprigfield XD
I like the gun designs, they remind me of MW2 and 3, how they look believable but not necessarily how they would look in real life, unlike MW19 which was like COD4 where guns looked more true to real life.
ttk is fast wym
Saturation = Graphics. Nice.
The graphics in MW2 is a lot better. You just gotta wait for the release.
Mw 2019’s realism is still unmatched. Just look at the character models, price in mw2 looks like a sims character

@@cod3368 that’s why I don’t get why everyone is mad about the skins wit the ghost masks. I’m pretty sure those skins are only pre order bonuses
@@cod3368 "muh realism 😢😢" MW19 really brought the worst fans to COD
@@cod3368 because mw2 was supposed to push what mw 2019 brought but it didn't?
It's a beta, they compressed the game down to 20gb, which is about 10% of what the full game is going to be, its impressive to me that the graphics are as good as they are in the beta
Some people might not like the Hotel or museum maps but if these are in some campaign missions the hotel one especially is going to be 🔥🔥
I think the footsteps are pretty accurate. Running around with boots and 40 lbs of gear shouldn’t be quiet and it isn’t in real life.
it isnt real life either thats the thing
after watching this video, I kinda feel like MW2022 is a step back overall; something about the colors, and the general gist of the game doesn’t feel real.. in MW2019, something about the guns was done really well to make it feel like the guns was a part of the environment, but in MW2022, it kinda feels like the guns aren’t really connected with everything else.
Something about the lighting just looks washed out. It's like 2019 but more colorful, then with a slight gray filter placed over it.
It's beta graphics it will be better when full game comes out and if you look MW19's beta graphics they were not great-looking either.
@@kyantemori I’m sorry but what? The MW2019 beta looked awesome! The only noticeable changes I saw was with the UI and the hitmarkers… a games general look can not be changed really within beta to full release, that’s asking for a bit too much.

Dear lord the c* riding. Pull yourself together for god's sake
The AK in MW1 is a AKM, which uses 7.62x39 ammo, the one in MW2 is the sub version of the AK74, which uses the smaller 5.45x39
I wonder, why he didn't swap the mag in MW'19
This is something I'm worried about, I enjoyed running a ak with the small barrel, no stock and no underbarrel grip for mobility and close range damage. With the new (more realistic) receiver system u won't be able to run powerful rounds in small form factor weapons. I know many attachments were locked out during the beta so it's possible guns like the m4 have a shortened barrel but so far I'm holding my breath.
The AK in mw2019 is an ak47.
really happy to see improvement from mw2019, and really happy to see mw2019 still looks so fricking gorgeous
The old operators in MW 2019 felt real and gritty, like they actually felt like they have been in war, the new operators feel cringy and more like cosplay or airsofters. the gameplay in MW2 feels amazing a d more tactical but i wish they would get the cosmetics right.
the graphics/color palette specifically in general feels totally off too, but my lord the 'operators' are shite
glad i'm not the only one that noticed. even the operator that has Krueger's voice actor still doesn't feel right or ig feel authentic to that kind of setting if that makes sense

Was waiting for this cod banger! Thanks nick
I believe the difference in the were and tear was because this game is meant to be more special ops so the weapons aren’t being used on a front line so there not beaten and battered by your average grunts these ones revive a lot more care
IMO MW19 was a more realistic game and the engine feels better than MW2. Good vid

Really excited to try this feature out! Amazing work !
I hope that table in the gunsmith is lowered in the final build, if you use a longer than normal mag, it clips through the table lol
Regardless, nice video as always Nick!

Of note, the M4 in MW2019 is actually a MK18 with a RIS II Handguard.
Also. Look an Iraqi reload!
I really enjoyed my time with the beta but i'm undecided if i will get it at launch, if it's received well i might bite.
Let's be honest, we were all waiting for this comparasion from this UA-camr.
I think it is sad that they did not include a loading + 1 feauture in the game when you, for example, do a tactical reload. Just a small thing that bothers me for some reason
yeah battlefield does that
@@firestxrmrev Yeah i know!!! I don't understand why it's not in cod too, it is simple weapon-realism!

@@TurkeyOW then there is hope!
@@Element_Finland they mentioned that will be added at launch in their feedback notes
@@RenK3r Thank you. 😲
Anyone else notice the dead guy flying across the whole room??? That's some pretty real ragdoll physics right there 🤣
I actually like that the weapons look more pristine now. I'm not a big fan of the rusty/dirty look. It would have been awesome if there was a feature for that though... In DOOM 2016's multiplayer you could both put a skin on your guns and then make your gun look as dirty/scratchy/rusty as you wanted to with sliders.
The best quality comparison i've seen so far.
You need to go over the differences in how control/input works. In MWII, it felt more sluggish (someone called it botty) compared with MW2019.
I really hope you can remove certain HUD elements, i dont need to know exactly when xXBooty_Clapper69Xx killed someone with an M4 and itd be cool to be able to hide the kill feed
The HUD is so ugly. My tips, FOV 110, Turn the mini map to round, turn crosshair off, turn compass off. Makes it somewhat cleaner
Everyone will of course always prefer MW19 because it’s well made
Just came across your channel, thank you for creating this content on Call of Duty comparison.

Going from PS4 modern warfare to PS5 modern warfare 2 is a noticeable leap.
I dead ass only got my ps5 2 days before the beta and you can definetly feel the improvements lol
@@cod3368 maybe because you have a PS5? Try MW2019 at 4k on PS5. Will look way better than for your last generation console.
MW2 has some better lol lighting shadows etc, but the upgrade is nothing crazy. Not a generational leap just a tad bit upgraded.
I dont care what y’all say, characters and some stuff look more reallistic in MW 2019 than Mw 2 , characters , weapons and maps
I hope they improve that for final result, cuz characters look plastic in mw2 , they looked very reallistic in mw 2019
6:43 the guy does the israeli/iraqi reload for an ak74. Havent played the beta but that is incredible attention to detail. It forgoes the AK's lack of a bolt stop and makes your hand holding the bolt back a form of bolt stop. The reload is rarely used but it drastically shortens the AK's reload time irl. super cool
Didn't know there were national reloads. Very interesting. So if I chose to reload like this you could call it cultural appropriation?

Tweaking one of the best looking games out there, can not be an easy job. You have to assume it's got to be harder every new game and trying to come up with a way to be innovative and not piss off the masses at the same time, is a feat! And I think it's pretty great so far.

Will you do a direct comparison for Dead Space when it comes out?
Awesome comparison as always! Love the sound design! Still nice animation and gamplay like mw2019! Good stuff! 😁👍🏻
@@zenroles My hope is that at the game launch the graphics and animations will be optimized. After all we just saw the beta, not the full game.

Please show both games in the same light tho...this makes a big difference.
Bit unsure about MW2. I think the sound effects in MW2019 are honestly a bit better. You could make the argument that the wear and tear on the weapons in MW2019 fit the setting more, which it did, but it was still a nice detail.
Foiyooh! Nice analysis 👌 great video 🔥

The fake countries have ALWAYS been a part of the modern warfare series, even back in 2007 (COD4 had the US invade the "Middle east"... but they never say an actual country name)
Fake armies were also always used.
Well, 2042 is set in the future so..
@@enjoi9970 So was Battlefield 2142. It didn't rely on "heroes".. I agree with his point there. 2042's "setting" is so poorly realized and feels tailormade to sell action figures in the Target toy aisle.

Thanks! It would be great if you could control for lighting. Having that the same would really help us see the differences in texture work.
Been waiting for the GOAT to drop this one.
The original MW2 will forever stay undefeated. Greatest COD ever from sound to gameplay to the graphics
It’s goated but outdated. One attachment per weapon? That’s not crazy????
@@ZAYFLXCod was never meant to be realistic. As long as it had a good campaign and a fun multiplayer, that’s all it needed however with the recent games, they’re taking on the more realistic gameplay approach which imo is killing the fun

No. These names will remain in the final game. It's about licensing. They didn't license the use of the names this time for those weapons.
Yeah its a small indie company, they cant afford to use licensed weapon names.
@@JagsP95 Just because a company has a lot of money, doesn't mean they're going to blow it all on things like licensing fees when they don't need to. Everyone knows it's an AK... it's not that big a deal.
This just goes to show how GOOD mw looks when you can hardly tell the difference
I love how everyone thinks the Ftac recon (458 M4 conversion) is only semiautomatic. All you had to do was hit your fire selector button and now it’s full auto
The m4 model was changed most likely due to the US military switching from Daniel Defense RIS II rail systems over to the newer geissele URGI upper receiver, it’s the standard issue for most special operation units now🤙🏼🤙🏼
I swear 2019 looks better especially since it was a last gen game compared to mw2.
It is
Heres my only complaint with mw2, guns sound very underwhelming mechanically wise, pistol slides sound too quiet, the desert eagle no longer makes its iconic "kachunck" noise when the player releases the slide and the vector no longer sounds like a vector (hope they improve the sound design)
That's what happens when they change things for the sake of it, funnily enough they literally had the same audio director

The sound effects for the weapons in MW2019 are some of the best I’ve heard in any shooter. MW2 sounds good, but it’s not anywhere near as good.
The M4A1 in both games are different weapons
MW 2019's M4A1 is a Colt 933 that resembles that of the MK18 while MIIW's M4A1 is just a full auto AR-15
I think a lot of people are forgetting this is a beta, and not the full game. Graphics and mechanics are going to be a little different.
Ayo Nick are you a gun enthusiast
Am I the only one who thinks this looks kinda worse than MW2019?
Idk what it is, maybe it's the brighter colour palette or just art direction but the game looks considerably worse, with significantly worse visibility in most situations compared to mw19
yeah, it looks less gritty and realistic i guess, color grading is more vibrant, it kinda reminds me of bf2042 graphics in some way, but is way better of course
Same, its definitely the lighting/art direction that makes some of the MW:19 maps look better, but hopefully we get a surprise with the full release.
@@acoolrocket i think they made it this way for make it appealing to the mass and they scrap a potentially artistic direction, bc this game is developed with warzone 2.0 in mind, mw2019 was not as far i remember, or if it was they werent influenced by it because it was a new thing
Sound design in MW 2019 seem to have more omph and kick to it
While MW2 has a more realistic approach to it

MW2 2022 gameplay style with third-person mode and gadgets look almost like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six Siege combined, It's just my opinion
It does just a bit faster
@@l.r.7505 its faster but IW's gameplay philosophy for this game is to play slower unfortunately, catering to campers with loud footsteps and no red dots on mini map.
It looks that way a bit.. but the forced ADS view kinda ruins that mode to me.

I’m not a big cod fan at all, since MW2019 is on sale at the time of this comment, I’m getting it. I’m hearing a lot in the comments that MW2 isn’t doing so hot anymore, but if there is one think that looks really cool for MW2 is the gunsounds judging from this video. Gunshots sounds more punchy and loud, which is exactly what I want in any game with any sort of realistic gun physics. Makes your weapon in-game feel more powerful and just feels more satisfying to shoot in game.
I like it. And even though they are giving their succesfull games a polish, I'd rather have that instead of some failed experiment. I do hope (even if I know it's no use) that they reduce the extremely annoying ads in the menus, after closing the game, when opening the launcher etc. Lets say: I hope the menu is close to the original MW2.
Their ui was made by people who worked on HULUs ui so it came out like trash. I can't remember the exact number but people counted going from the start up menu how many steps it takes to get to a loadouts attachments and it was ridiculous. Something easily fixable but considering the mission selection for campaign was like scrolling through Netflix, I'm concerned they didn't fix it.
