Love my two Browning Miroku guns. A BPS Field and a Cynergy CX, both 12 Gauge. Simple, no nonsense and beautifully engineered.
I've had some fun with the BPS especially. While it has a 28" barrel for field applications I found a s/h barrel, chopped it down to about 20" and added an Allen fiber optic sight. Then I extended the magazine to 8 shells (in 2 3/4") with Nordic Component parts, including a front clamp with a Pic rail for a light and a sling stud. So a really nice pump set up for home defense. Plus it runs Aguila mini shells if 8+1 isn't enough! I'm a lefty and a BPS (and a Cynergy come to that) are great l/h friendly guns.
I have a 12 gauge 700 (pre-Browning) which my grandfather bought in Yokosuka in 1968. Still a great gun all these years later.
I inherited an over under from my grandpa. Trying to learn more about it. I’m so grateful to have it

I brought a mk70 sporter just shy of 1k here in in Aust I’ve shaped the but stock to suit, blacked the barrels and also refinished all the timber to a natural look.

I have a 9000 sporter bought in 1990 in Australia. Excellent gun I have shot thousands of cartridges with no problems on clays and birds

Thanks for the video. I've been very aware of Miroku since spending some years in the UK. Returning to Canada i was surprised that you never hear of Miroku here with the exception of the John Daly guns manufactured by them prior to the Browning association. I recently picked up a Miroku brought in from Europe by a company that imports used shotguns mostly from Scandinavia, and mostly side by sides at that. The Europeans seem to love their guns full and full. Anyway my new to me M is full and full, 28" barrels and from my research, appears to be an 800S. It has been very well used and the action is very sloppy when open but locks up like a bank vault. It cost me $295 or about 175 stl. I'm happy as a clam! It needs the woodwork refinished and could use a re-bluing but shoots well. There are some cracks in the for end which seems to be somewhat typical, from my research. It would be great to find a usable for end ( for a V-spring version)
I also have a Superposed and it is interesting to see the differences in design.
I guess the reason for choking full and full in a fixed choke gun is that the customer can have them opened up to how they see fit? Also saves on having loads of different barrel sets....

Brilliant review and just what I wanted. Waiting to get my first license and first gun. Tried swinging a beretta in a local shop, as first thought I was a beretta person. Not so, it was a great gun, but didn’t feel as comfortable ( if that’s the right description) as the browning 525. I was then handed a Miroku mk38 to try and it was about then I realised, I was a Miroku person..... or will be 👍
I shot with a Winchester and it was heavy and uncomfortable, picked up a Miroku 38 and knew straight away it was the one for me. You won't regret it 👍
Try and find a mk38 teague sporter. Best starter gun you’ll find. Slightly nicer in hand than a b525 and with the teague chokes its well worth the money, u can pick up a brand new grade 1 for £1500-1650.

Another excellent video, dudes. I love the look and sensibility of these, and sounds like they feel great. When I make the jump to that price bracket for my next O/U, I think I've been swayed.

I am very new to the sport and having taken a few lessons at a local clay club, I have bought my first starter gun, a Miroku 7000 28" multi choke sporter. I love it and my instructor maintains that I have a cracking little gun. These will definately be on my radar should I decide to upgrade one day.
I bought, new, in 1980 my Miroku 3800SW 30" Trap. SW = Silver Wide. Wood is Grade 4. Had the stock extended to fit & took gun to Teague for his famous chokes. He commented on the lovely tight feel of my gun & suggested if I was ever to sell, call him first. It is still with me 40 years on & just as lovely as when new. The intermittent trigger pull has been worked on with success. My only complaint, how to hit the clays in my old age! No better gun for the money.
This channel deserves 100k+ subscribers. I don't know another channel that puts out consistent quality, edited, professional videos with the amount of subscribers these guys have. Hope you guys grow fast!

Found myself becoming a bit of a Miroku fan boy as a result of Jonny’s videos... I’ve just bought a 1989 Miroku 3800 as my first gun (tried a browning B525 and couldn’t get on with it... felt like I couldn’t miss with the Miroku), and despite being a trap gun, I intend to use it as a bit of an all rounder... trap, sporting and game. Any body got one and used it for a bit of everything?

I shot a 20 bore Browning BSS for years. Bull for stout and pretty well between the hands.
Cracking revue John ,I'm in total agreement with you on what you said in the latter part of the video on the point of gun choice ,if you are taking competition clay shooting seriously you are far better of purchasing the trap model in grade of choice and altering and adjusting the stock to suit as I think they handle so much better .Indecently the two old Warwickshire boys that put this Miroku 32" trap format on the road to sporting success and fame with to many wins to mention, were Carl bloxam and Garry Phillips in the early 80s who took it on from A j Smith's 32" A1 Broadway trap who was the instigator of the 32" Success story.

6000 grade 5 modified for briley thin wall chokes over here. The gun looks stunning.

I had a 7000 years ago and regret ever selling it. Wonderful guns, and extremely well made and reliable especially for the money, the Toyota Hilux of guns.

So... question to the floor...If I have had my Miroku High Pheasants "Teagued" (and I have had my pair done), can I put steel shot through them if I shoot half/quarter/skeet?
Loving these videos. Just a small point on pronunciation. You would say Miroku as MeRowKu in Japanese. Otherwise a very solid video!

My Father still goes hunting with a Miroku Trap that he bought in 1973.By the years the woods were broken and replaced by custom made ones. If there was a way to send you pictures of the gun,hopefully you could provide details and help find parts of the gun..
I have a BC Miroku it has double bead sights it has 26” barrels single trigger ejector gold trigger its a 1981 gun but would like to know if it’s steel proofed it has a round circle with SP in it and what looks like a fleur de lys on top
I really want a Miroku, did they ever do adjustable stocks? Most guns are low for me, I shoot a trap GTI fixed choke because of the drops on most sporters, my ideal gun is a MK60 with a monte I think.
Great show. Always disappointed that Miroku don't throw in a nice ABS case like Browning do. I was told tp pronounce the name as "Mirro-ku". But who cares we all know they're a great brand.

Miroku shotguns sold in New Zealand and Australia are known a M7000 a very no frills gun with Browning invector + chokes and standard bore barrels .
The M10 which is sold in Grade 1 3 5 and 4 , , they bring out new ( higher) grades from time to time. engraving and wood increase in quality as the grade goes up except the G 4 is higher grade than the 5 for some reason . Grade 5 and up have gold birds or clays on the action , the higher grades have false side plates .
The M10"s have over bore barrels 3" chambers and Briley thin wall chokes .
Some Mirocu models were sold in the USA under the Charles Daley label.
Miroku made a very nice boxlock side/side , and a high grade sidelock in small numbers .I have seen a Miroku sidelock action which had been superbly barreled , engraved and stocked by a Japanese gunsmith , I didn't buy it because it was just too shot in the stock .
Apart from shotguns they made / make rifles for Browning , the BLR center fire lever action , sold as a Miroku MLR in Australia and NZ and the Browning A bolt , bolt action CF rifle . When Browning went to change manufacturers of the rifles , Miroku just changed the name and kept selling , this bringing Browning back into line !!
Miroku also made and still make Winchester rifles in various grades of lever action recreations of classic Win rifles ,1866, 73 , 86,92, 94,95 ,71 as well as the 1885 single shot .Some of these were sold under both Winchester and Browning names .
I’m pretty new to shooting and I’ve recently bought a miroku 800 but can’t find much information on them. Would be nice to know years of manufacture and the quality/reliability of them.
I too have an 800, I think, and you are right there is not much info out there. i heard that the company had a fire or tornado which destroyed all the older records. Nice guns though!
My grandfather got a 20 gauge miroku Charles daly as a wedding gift. I still shoot it to this day.

Hi I have a question about Miroku MK10, I am looking to get a TSK or Ergosign Evocomp stock for my gun MK10. I have a stock fitted on a browning 725 on hand, but would this stock fit my Miroku MK10? I don't have the possibilities to travel and test fit it so I need a clear answer.
I have a Miroku shotgun stamped as a 'Stirling' (not Sterling) from about 1975-ish. It has a Monaco stock, seems to be more like a Trap gun, with full and 3/4 fixed chokes. Can you tell me any more about it?
Take it you are in Aus? The stirling range was just the name they used on the guns exported to Aus through fuller firearms, came in from early mid 60s, 600 700 and 800, the 800 is what you have the trap variant, stirling guns usually have lighter coloured woodwork compared to european variants as the wood was to suit our climate/land better
@@fullchoke01 yes mate, I'm in NSW. I thought it might have been an Aussie name chosen for this market. Growing up in Perth, I know of the Stirling Ranges, named after early explorer Stirling. Mine has nice wood, I wouldn't call it light, but certainly not a dark walnut. Still shoots very well, action still very good. Thanks for the info!
@@TaralgaBushAdventure yes possibly was chosen to appeal to the public. Lighter stained wood compared to european grades usually, enjoy her they will go forever if kept in good order. I have a 700 that i shoot every week

How do they rate the New Browning CXS Citori model bought in 2018?
I just bought a Miroku G13 President. I think it's blued Steel with Gold Inlays of some type of bird. I'm not very knowledgeable on these fire arms and i can't find anything about the G13 i own. i bought the shotgun at an auction and i have no idea what it's worth. Does anyone have any information on the shotgun i am describing? If so i would appreciate knowing more about the gun. Just FYI, the G13 i bought needs some TLC. The inlays were picked out and the stock needs re-finishing, other than that just some cleaning. Thank you!

The mk38 trap is not because it’s fixed 3/4 and full so even standard steel not a great idea unless opened out to half and half

To sportising a mk38 is it just boring the chokes out or is there more to it?
Finbar Hendry there is indeed - a bit of stock work is needed generally.
I think one of the main things as well is a selector needs fitting. Also Why bore the chokes out? I always thought one of the things that makes the gun great is the full and 3/4 chokes that it has. I personally don’t like shooting with anything less now (shot string counts for a lot!). If you haven’t tried shooting full and 3/4 try it you will be presently surprised
@@tgsoutdoors opened mine out to half and half, took the old trap pad off and new kick eez put on. Combe lowered and stock cast and white front bead replaced with small brass bead.
What a sporting/fitasc competition clay gun it now is.
20 year old gun and still faultless I will do the same modifications to a new mk38 trap when the time comes 👌

The only thing that scares me about them is everytime I get a text with a broken grade five stock. I never see that on a beretta.
Haven’t seen a broken grade 5 for a while. I think they must select of age their wood differently now. Berettas do crack, just no so spectacularly

I was hoping you would know. After watching your channel. I'm looking at a miroku for a trap / sporting clays gun.
Mk10 is essentially a MK 38 but with lighter barrels (from a non solid midrib), has chokes (either invector plus or Briley S54 or Briley C300) designed for Australian market. The MK11 is this same gun but with a shallower action (same height as the Browning B725) and has a more 'general purpose rib' like that of the browning citori cxs (my favourite TBH). Mk10 has sporting or trap versions, MK11 is a 'sporter' so to speak.

Unless it's a B25 they are all made in Japan by BC Miroku,some of the higher end models are finished in Browning factory.

Miroku shotguns are ideal for learning to shoot. Bulletproof in more ways than one. Not ideal as a gift for a fellow shooter.
