What’s new for 2022? Absolutely Nothing!
Exactly I watched this thinking there WAS changes but it was no different
Higher price tag
No vacuum
@@smag61306 Oh great! How innovative 🙄🙄
@@Chiderah100 The supplier went bankrupt and closed. That is the reason they came out with 2022 after just coming out with the 2021 refresh. I'm assuming they'll have a vacuum back for 2023 when they can find another supplier.
They should eventually make the cabin watch feature a simple button without having to navigate to the option. Most buying this product have families and kids they always want to keep an eye on.
I have a 2015 ex-l and got a 2022 loaner from the dealership while getting mine repaired. I was thinking of upgrading to the new model but I honestly hate the newer model. First, I hate the idle mode, the car kept stalling and shutting off while on stop/go traffic. Second, I hate the center console being so small and not removable. There is no lane change camera!! The driver seat keep moving every time the car starts. The doors don’t automatically unlock when the car is stopped. The AC is not as cold. The middle ac vent is on the leg not the head. The rear ac control does not have a lock, my kids constantly play with it. I can go on about the stuff I don’t like but why bother, I’m just gonna keep my 2015.
Toyota came up with hybrid plus awd and Honda as usual always behind in giving us their technology. This is the reason why I switched to Toyota.
Yet the Odyssey continues to outsell the Sienna. I’ll give you the Hybrid but AWD on a minivan? Get an SUV.
@@jdoncbus Odyssey = old tech; timing belt (need to change every 100k) Sienna = new tech; timing chain (last forever). I owned both Odyssey touring and Pilot touring, Honda's V6 are slow compared to competitors.
I test drove a sienna and the 4 cylinder was anemic. Hence we bought an odyssey.

Thats kinda odd: The rear brake rotors are bigger than the front ones.
...Of course, it's ONLY by less than ½ inch but, this is THE FIRST time I can remember ever seeing the back brakes being larger than the front ones 🤔.
I think sienna is the same way. Don’t know why either
Stability control systems use rear bias in light braking. This works well but often results in the rear brakes wearing out faster than the fronts which leads some people to believe something is wrong. While the rear brakes don't need to be larger for performance reasons, I am guessing they do this to help them last longer.
Crusing at 59mph on I-75 south to Florida. 👍
I like this Honda's Touring trim🤩👍🏻
Thanks😊😉
We just bought a 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring/Elite certified pre-owned Honda (one owner, no accidents through carfax) with 45,000 kms on it last week.
We bought the 8 year Honda plus extended warranty (as this thing is literally a space ship electronics wise) to cover us for 4 more years as original warranty would run out in September of this year.
I'm a truck guy, a tradesman. But I have a family of 5. Let me tell you, I did not think for one second in my life I'ld ever enjoy driving a bloody mini-van.... I can't even call it that, it's just a vehicle. My wifey bought it, it's her vehicle, I still have my truck. But man, this thing is on a whole other level!
It drives for you! It's incredible! With the entertainment system in the back, twins that are 2 and a 4 year old are happy as clams. And getting car seats in and out or swapping them is a breeze, since the hooks are easily accessible. The middle seats slide as we removed the middle second row one, so easy to get kids or strap them in. Highest safety rating, and those sliding doors! Omg!
Lane keeping assist, heated wipers, heated mirrors, folding mirrors, 2 drivers memory, very comfortable seats. I honestly can't say enough good things about this vehicle. Of course there's a vacuum too, but who cares with so much else to love.
If you have a family, this vehicle is the best thing going.
It’s nice but I would still get the sienna
Agreed! Hybrid on all trims with AWD options. I have a 2021 Sienna XSE and I’m saving a ton of $$$ on gas ⛽️ @ 36 mpg combined.
May I ask you about drive it on wet like your clip it is about slippery lose traction?? Because all honda Odyssey front wheels right. Thks
How does the audio system in the Touring compare with the premium system in the Elite?
Me Punjabi to I traded my 2012 Honda Odyssey for this new 2022 Honda Odyssey
I have 2019 seem like all same to me even lass than what I have it no vacuum
They need to take off that auto-start stop feature. It's dumb having it start up at a stop and having to disable it you have to push a button every time you get in the van.
While we have enjoyed our Odyssey 2020 we definitely DO NOT like the auto-start stop feature. A hybrid is not a hassle like this is.
why is the dash blinking?
You didn’t cover where the spare tire is...
I don't care for its looks they stripped it down cosmetically. They loaded it up with stupid lane control and automatic braking. The automatic braking almost caused me bad accidents more than once we ripped sensor out and just cut all wires. Runs great after that. Took out the vac. More disappointed then happy
Big nah I hate the captain chairs in the front
Why no hybrid.
It seems like the front end keeps gettin squeezed smaller and amaller
This van looks like it did in 2019 so far up front.
This was re designed in 2018 😂😂
Judging on the release of the current generation of Honda Vehicles, the next generation should look like, in that order:
Pilot➡Civic➡Odyssey➡Accord.
But since the civic prototype has already been unveiled, we should see that get to dealers first, then the Pilot not so long after, since the Acura MDX is getting to dealers and reviewers now.
It's ironic that Honda has chosen a 2012 style front end for their 2022 Odyssey. That instrument cluster reminds me of some of the hideous ones offered by GM during the 90s. Maybe Honda is saving on their payroll budget by hiring all the washed up GM designers on the cheap?
It looks ancient for a 2022. The V6 sounds so 1990s, not a bad sound, but from a different era. Honda needs to electrify the Odyssey. The Sienna is all hybrid and will probably get a plug in prime model soon.
So what’s new for 2022? Sounds like nothing!
Two things I hate. The Ipad screen glued onto the dash (same as toyota) and the 'cyclops' one clock speedometer. With many other makes going with digital double clocks and integrated touch screens I feel Honda is lagging here.
I absolutely love the Odyssey!! My neighbor had a 2002 Honda Odyssey with 200k miles and he works as a mower. He uses his Odyssey to carry the equipment and to haul family around the country too especially on road trips!! These things are absolute work horses!! He now currently has a 2020 Toyota 4 Runner TRD Off Road.
Edit. I think the reason they got rid of the vacuum feature is because of the typical world of chip shortages were living in nowadays, unfortunately...
The company that produced the vacuum went under, there aren't many chips in controlling a motor that way, the shortage is not the reason.
If I am completely honest, I really want to see an AWD and hybrid model. Currently, we have an older Honda Odyssey, and I would like to upgrade. However, we live in a rural area, and I would like to opt for better fuel economy. I have wanted to check out the Toyota Sienna, and I really like that green color!
I’d get the Sienna. It has better mpg and available all wheel drive. When a van is loaded there is a lot of weight on the rear axle. All wheel drive is a must.
@@RobertJackson-sl1mk Hybrid cars outlast gas cars 2 to 1. The Sienna does not use a belt and pulley CVT. The V6 will require a lot more maintenance.
If you have ever had a hybrid and have maintained it well, as suggested by manufacturer, a hybrid will serve you well for MANY years. We loved our Prius and only traded it because we did not like sitting so low to the ground as we are getting older. We are not out for fast driving and making an impression. Definitely thinking of taking a look at the Sienna. We have had a Toyota, also, and have liked both of them very much. Good regular maintenance is the key to keeping a vehicle working well for years.
V6 + AWD would be ideal to me but new Sienna does not come with that. I guess it might be supply issue due to the pandemic. A 2.5l engine with AWD for a 5.2 metre length 2.2 ton vehicle is obviously too weak.
Subaru Crosstrek Plug-in Hybrid
I just got this car yesterday. This is my first ever minivan. I'm loving it so far.
Congratulations . It's a beautiful vehicle . I want one badly but waiting for a hybrid version .
@@marktuyet Does Honda have any timeline on a hybrid version coming to the US market? hopefully they also give it an AWD option too.
The Hybrid version is apparently coming in 2023
Congrats we bought one too like I was the first one to buy it in my city loving it so much🥰

Thanks for sharing, it's very nice, but they could have done more for styling and More features like panoramic sunroof, HPD package, etc, but I understand they have hands full with all the new products around this time.
No AWD. What is HONDA thinking?? Almost all their other vehicles are offered with AWD. Bad call. I would certainly buy this vehicle for long trips with the wife, dogs and luggage but Toyota is really the only option when you consider the AWD factor, hybrid power train (excellent economy) and highest ground clearance in the segment. Too bad because I prefer Honda over Toyota.
Honda should offer the option of AWD on the Odyssey for those who want it. (who wants to switch to snow tires every winter, FWD can not go like AWD). Honda Corp. claims AWD would raise the height of the Odyssey and compromise storage space. The Toyota Sienna has AWD and it does not raise the vehicle or compromise space
please install 360 degree surround view, next time......
My 2006 Honda Ridgeline just died, along with my llama, so not needing a truck anymore. I want the van for inside hauling and camping capabilities. You didn't show a view of the seats removed, or its capability of towing. If it was AWD I would of wanted it. I liked everything else.
It has a 3500 lb towing it had in print when he was standing behind it
Bring back amber/orange turn signal in tail lights on ALL vehicles ! Front end looks better ... 2022 Kia Carnival is preferred over this Odyssey ... Kia has raised the bar ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
Yeah I don't understand why Honda removed the rear amber turn signals. Amber IS a lightyear better and safer than red for turn signals.
My family has got a 2019 Elite. Underneath the wireless charging pad there is a drawer in that big center gap. Missed it in this video but I don’t know about others
I have the same van. Reviews always miss that drawer.
That drawer is where you put your bluray movies for the kids. 😉
Well designed.
I have 2018, and yes, there is a drawer. We keep a travel power inverter in there, because the 2018 didn’t have enough AC ports when we did a full 7/8 road trip. I also want to point out that in the version featured here, the outlets don’t have little covers on them. My 2018 has little covers and one got broken off immediately! I’m not sure how nasty the ports get if they don’t have covers though.
I was expecting more after seeing the new Carnival
It's ugly compared to the Toyota Sienna.
I'd go Toyota on this segment.
I hate the massive front grill on Siennas though. I think they’re hideous. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Personally, Odyssey is the best looking van out there imo. 🤷🏻♀️
I wonder what can be missing for this car to be a true family van, giving us uplifting moments discovering Marios in the real world.
Those punjabi beats + the review is 🔥
That’s the first thing I noticed about the video is that Bhangra beats, I thought it sounded Punjabi that the dhol started playing in the background. Awesome.
How does the Odyssey ride quality compare to the Kia Carnival? I have heard Carnival ride is not great for long drives and sitting in the back of the Carnival can cause nausea easily. Is this true?
The new Kia Sedona (Carnival) got every minivan beat in terms of looks.
Yeah I agree.
Yeah and interior
I think the Kia is one of the ugliest vehicles on the road. That backend is horrendous.
Yea, they want a pretty penny for it too. And good luck trying to get one yet.
@@almassengale Kia can’t compete with Honda or Toyota, Kia s are junk
I feel like this has less features than before! Honestly I don’t like the way it looks, nor the interior, I would look at the 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle or Sedona SX. I also do not like the 2021 Sienna.

Is that why Consumer Reports does not recommend the Odyessy?
I heard that they were already selling these since I think December.
Not at my Honda dealer. I just bought a brand new one 2 weeks ago and it’s a 2021. No 2022’s
@@794jewels it's strange that Honda decided to introduce a 2022 model less than a year after the 2021...could this be an emergency refresh?
HMA Line 1 where these are made isnt currently up and running
Got a 2022 elite today vin in the 200s
The Odyessy is not recommended by Consumer Reports.
Honda should seriously overhaul the Odyssey. Starting to feel really long in the tooth since the Pacifica got an extensive refresh and the Sienna being all new, and with a new Sedona/Carnival on thr horizon. I don't like how they force you to go up to Elite for a wireless phone charger and a few other niceties. And the interior is definitely behind the Pacifica and (somewhat)Sienna.
At least the Pacifica is recommended by Consumer Reports. Also offer PHEV hybrid v6 that is segment best at 82 mpe!
Honda sucks. That’s why I switched to Toyota.
The pacifica felt like a boat, the Siennna like an armored car
Chrysler is junk, save yourself the headache. I wish I could go back in time and buy a Toyota Sienna or Odyssey instead of our Pacifica.
@@jvk813 Can't fully remove the middle row seats in the new Sienna. Deal breaker.
Is the audio system any good?
The transmission is bullshit-mine went out after 644 miles and though it was covered under the warranty honda did nothing more-they should have given me an extended warranty. This will be the very last Honda I ever buy. I had a 2018 Odyssey before this one and the transmission also showed signs of problems after 100k miles
My favorite Honda minivan! Good job bro.

Honda can you tell me the reason why the tailgate collect rain water? It’s all nice because the average buyer park these can in the garage. When you do discover this the odds you be out of warranty . This can cause electric problems with brake lights and airbags. Honda do better issue a recall
Love the 2022 white roof option 😃👍
Why does Honda always put in ancient tech? If you’re going to put a disk player in a 22 model, make it Blu-ray
What is going on with Honda's reputation going down. I heard that Odyssey had so many recalls and worst than average performance.
Getting delivery of my Touring(highest model in Canada) on Wednesday!!!
I don't get it. Honda introduced the CVCC engine in the 70's and because of that they did not have to use a catalytic converter in their vehicles, so they were efficient and less expensive that their counterparts, while making good mileage. Travel now to 2021, and Honda have not provided a real major enhancement in their powertrain since that landmark of the 70's, while Toyota and Chrysler have been able to introduce minivans that are more efficient and advanced than the 2022 Honda Odissey. And the 2021 Toyota Siena is now totally Hybrid as its only powertrain option, with a 36 MPG fuel economy rating, and Chrysler also has a Hybrid model, and where is Honda? Still producing good but dated technology vans. Because of that, I just got a 2021 AWD Siena, and did not considered the Honda at all with its 20 mpg.......
I know ! 16 MPG more is huge, another reason I like Sienna too. How do you like it so far ? I plan on taking out all rear seats since I’ll be traveling in it for unlimited amount of time .
Please do everyone a favor and show us the front passenger seating controls. Is it the same as the drivers, or not? The spouse ALWAYS wants to know if they have lumbar support, electric seat controls like the drivers but 99% of reviewers NEVER cover this important feature. Please be the first on EVERY review. Thank you!
I just got a 2019 Odyssey EX and front passenger seat does have lumbar support as well as electronic seat controls.
My 07 Odyssey EXL sun visors are extendable but the '22 Touring/Elite aren't? Odd. It's another reason I should just keep my van for a few more years.
Did he say that the EX doesn’t come with leather seats? I just bought a used (obviously 🥴) 2014 EX and I really like it, and it has leather seats. My sole purpose is to turn it into a camper van for when I visit my step mom, she’s a chain smoker and I can’t even sleep in the guest room with the door shut, a fan going and the window open 🥵 I get the feeling that Honda is trying to push buyers into buying the Elite level package, but omitting the vacuum due to a manufacturer not having the materials is a lame excuse, find another manufacturer 🤷🏻♀️
Uh if that is going to prevent you from buying a new car you don’t need a new car
@@UA-camuser1aa right ! 😂
The backup camera looks different. They completely removed the vacuum!! What the heck.
Shop-Vac went out of business. No company, no vacuums for Honda.
People gotta let these cars sit at the dealers ! it’s ridiculous what the consumers are paying and you get less for your buck !
For me is the same 2021 no important changes they need to improve the engine power
I’m always for more power but I honestly prefer this to the Pacifica. Haven’t driven a new four cylinder Sienna.
I’ll take the upcoming new Sedona over this
It’s called the carnival and isn’t as nice as this
The Honda Odyssey 2016 model is better it had cooler it help to keep my wife medicine cool

How about 2023 Odyssey? Hybrid like Sienna?
Just another ugly cookie cutter, 'bores me shitless' Honda.
How is there a 2022 when they just released the 2021??

AWD is not really necessary for snow. You just need winter tires. Great review 👍
If you live in an apartment, where do you store your non-winter tires?
@@herbyoung2767 closet or trunk
@@herbyoung2767 You can buy a set of Michelin CrossClimate 2 and use that all around. No need to swap tires every winter.
Or maybe all seasons...
agreed. All AWD does is give false sense of security. I drive a 2003 golf manual with no traction control etc and we got 78cm of snow last year. I never got stuck once. I saw people with AWD luxury brands stuck because their tires are so low profile and they think they can get through anything
I live where it snowed 78cm last year. I drive a 2003 golf. I have never needed AWD and never gotten stuck. I think the AWD feature is actually useless in most instances and in most cases gives a false sense of security so could end up causing more issues than solving anything. I am considering FWD odyssey vs sienna and think AWD is overkill.
I Hate the front fascia, with all the kool styling they did with the other models is this the best the designing team could come up with? It looks more suited for a very boring old account guy with no life and who's life lacks anything regarded as fun.
I have been an exclusively Honda driver since 1989 and I have owned Civic's, Accords CRV;s and a 2012 Odyssey. I had my Odyssey for 2 years and traded it in for the CRV because it is horrible in the snow without having AWD. I live on the east coast and in an area where there are some hills near my house and that Odyssey got stuck so many times that I finally got rid of it for a 2017 CRv which I loved but I realized that it was just too small for me and I really wanted the van but with AWD so I ended up going with a Toyota Sienna and I really love it. It really broke my heart to leave Honda after nearly 30 years but I just can't believe that they do not offer AWD in a family vehicle like the Odyssey. If they did, I would have purchased that in a heartbeat.
I have a 2010 CRV and it’s not any different in snow with the AWD, the AWD is better in the rain, holds the road well, I had a 4- runner before this CRV and sorry I didn’t go back to another one, thought it would cost too much now in looking for more room hence the mini van since I’m going to nomad in it but still not sure which one to go with Toyota or Honda.
Bruh just get you some high quality snow tires and your set. You’d hardly be able to tell the difference between that and the AWD sienna

Toyota Sienna is a close 2nd, but not very close. Every other manufacturer of a family vehicle (aka minivan) has no idea what they are doing.

Nothing changed from old one it’s so bad, for what people has to pay money????
Lived in northern Ontario Canada. With a set of snow tires, never had a problem with my 2000 base Odyssey in the winter. Newer models should be even better.
SK here. I never have gotten stuck and I drive a 20 year old golf with no electronic assist. AWD is usually unnecessary fad

Yes, they can be fully removed 👍
