I appreciate that unlike most reviewer's you talk about pricing off the top instead of making me wait until the end . . .
I really appreciate how you consistently bring up the differences between each trim level for each feature. Many reviews I’ve seen will take a higher trim level and not even mention the lower ones.
Yeah, not all of us can afford those trims!
Thank you for pointing that out, Rowen! He did a fantastic job with this review. I've watched at least half a dozen reviews for the Odyssey, and this has by far been the most informative. Kudos!
Just bought one of these and it’s a super smooth and pleasant ride.
I have the EX-L trim of the Odyssey and I just want to comment that if you don't adjust the equalizer of the sound system you won't be able to hear a louder bass and treble. In order to hear that loud bass, you gotta adjust it manually. The setting is set to lower bass and treble volumes from the factory. I am very impressed on how the bass sounds on this minivan!
That acceleration at @4:05 didn't do the van justice. Up hill in the rain. This thing MOVES from a roll - i.e. that highway merge or overtaking. And it feels effortless. That's where you really see the difference between a Sienna and Odyssey. The Sienna is just buzzy (w/ that CVT) and loud and feels like it's using every ounce of it's possible power.
People who have big dogs or travel long distances with a porta potti will appreciate being able to push second row seats together. I had to remove a second row seat and leave it out because my big dogs couldn't get in the van. Now they have to use a ramp to get in and out. On a trip, the third row seats are stowed and luggage and coolers (and porta potti) take up the cargo space.
I bought a 2021 Odyssey Elite in January of 2020. We've put 9000 miles on it and it's been perfect. Excellent driving vehicle and super comfortable. And the upgraded stereo is awesome, especially bass wise. Also a big fan of cabin watch and the onboard vaccuum as well, which is no longer available.
You are so detailed. Thank you! This is the best video on the Odyssey 2022!
Appreciate it!
You can fold the third row halfway and turn it into stadium seating.
I've been comparing the Sienna 2022 (because there are no details on 2023 yet) and the Odyssey 2023. Sienna has several things that I can't avoid not to consider: Hybrid, available AWD, heated second row seats, 360 camera, and digital rear mirror. I prefer the magic second-row of the Odyssey. It's a stressful decision making process, to be honest.
I’m in the same boat. Almost Impossible to get Sienna now, even the ones in transit already sold. Plus, if you want specific model and color good luck. I wanted Platinum, but I going to go with Honda. This shortage is not going to improve anytime soon.
Odyssey for the stronger engine
Excellent review and u have a fantastic personality. Keep rocking!!!
Appreciate it! 😁
There is no other vehicle at this price point so versatile and reliable. Maybe at any price point. Nice review!
Appreciate it Mike!
What about the Sienna?
@@percyyt7201 Sienna lost its versatility, you can't remove the 2nd row from the new Sienna
Great job! I bought one yesterday!
Same 😂 went with the touring, also the dealership didn't have the elite in inventory
The best Odyssey's were the design that ran from 2005-2010, followed by the design that ran from 1999-2004. They were made to be spacious and luxurious and asthetically embraced the fact they were vans. Ever since 2011 Honda has been trying to blend the Odyssey in with the crossover crowd with things like the lower ground clearance, higher window line, and that awful lightening bolt beltline. Honda needs to bring back the design team from generations 2 & 3. Nice video though
I like the newer Odysseys, though.
I agree! I'm not wanting to upgrade from my 2009 i'm currently running!! The fails are the horrible engine and button design for selecting drive and part etc..., Ive seen reports of the van going to park when driving from hitting the stop start on a torn and it actually kills the van in motion! The other fail is the removal of the second compressor so AC is horrible and on constantly and gone are the roof style vents! Rear facing kids are suffering! Will have see his latest videos if he make since this is about a 10 months old now!
@@batman1169 I have always said that the AC in my 2006 is one of the most powerful in any car I've experienced. In May I bought a 2021 Toyota Tundra 1974 edition and the believe it or not the van's ac is more powerful. Another thing that the truck taught me is that I like my Ody so much that I actually got an additional one. So now I have a truck from 2021 and 2 Ody's from 2006 and I am happy with them all. The van I got new in 2006 now has 335,000 miles and actually drives smoother than the "newer" van or the truck. I actually like having 2 Ody's so much that I would like another. I have a few things to get inorder before adding another to the collection though. If your 2009 is a low mileage Touring, PM me if you ever want to sell it into my fleet. hahaha
Keep up the great vids bro! Lovin all these reviews.
Thanks!
Thanks for letting us know on the O%!! I have been looking for a new vehicle and I have a credit score that will get me to 0% if the manufacturer offers it!! And I didn’t know Honda had it on some models! I’ll check that out now! Thanks Gold Pony! Great review as always!
I hope they add the Honda vac again.
Power liftgate is optional for EX trim.
early congratulations for 100.000 subs
Thanks! 😁
100K coming soon
2022 Honda Odyssey Review | This Minivan Will Surprise You
I would love to see you review the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer when it hits the streets this fall.
Definitely will! 😁
@@goldpony, it reminds me of the Dodge Durango. This makes sense, as they’re both going for the Chevrolet Tahoe.
Can the middle row seats come out without compromising any safety features like disengaging the front air bags & therefore voiding the warentee ( like the Toyota Sienna 2022 van) and most importantly we cant throw out Safety issues.
YES ANOTHER 2022
So, do you like it over the ‘22 sienna?
What about the center console drawer in the 2022 Touring odyssey? How far does it come out to put DVD's in it?
Which one would you buy, Odyssey Elite or New Carnival SX prestige?
Bought a 2022 elite . IMO The carnival is ugly and the name .... just nope. Hah😂
I saw the Carnival Prestige in person last week. Ugly compared to my Odyssey. Also don’t like the dental looking chairs and that they removed the middle seat.
@@christinevelez8965 😄 dentist chairs. Would be a cool mobile dental clinic. 🤣🤣
Great review. What's the exact difference between 2022 and 2021 Honda Odyssey?
We WERE Honda lovers. We started with the civic, an accord and drove a loaded odyssey off the lot in 2010. Within 6 years our paint started fading and peeling. Honda has refused to do anything to help us. We are also noticing the leather quality has gone way down hill as well.
Stay away from Honda!!! I tell everyone I can. Heck, it's easy to start the conversation. My van looks like it's 30 years old!
Nothing but they added a new color for 2022 ( red) and did away with the Honda vac
@@valerietesch5900 we have a 15 year old sienna and still looks brand new, siennas are the most durable out there.
@@percyyt7201 that's because u have a 15 yr old sienna. New siennas are not as good. Toyota quality has gone down in the last 10 years.
My 21 touring was nothing but trouble!!!!! Hopefully they've worked out some bugs with the 22'. I sold mine today after driving it 6.5 months and having it in the shop for 1.5. no thank you.
Honda odyssey...in my opinion...is the most relliable minivan that exists. I drove a 2011 for 274ks and I just bought a 2022. I got to say that they should also include the entertainemen system on the EX-L even if it's a simpler one. I don't have it on my 2022 but had it on my EXL from 2011....my kids miss that.
I can't find mirror heat button on it, was that auto active or only active with snow model
Carnival is still number one ☝️
Honda need to step up for the price they charge to customers. So behind in some of the features. Sienna win with 35mpg.
They need a nice mist blue and ditch one or both of the yucky dark metallic gray ( steel and puter ). Maybe they should ask women to pick colors for mini-van.
Agree with you on the color choices - pretty much 50 Shades of Gray. We went with the new Red color (never owned a red car before).
Guess what? The Odyssey dies come in blue. Don't like grey? Don't choose grey and choose blue instead, because the Odyssey is in fact available in blue.
funny you say that. im a woman and i hate blue and red cars! only black, silver or white!
@@Blank00 its a dark blue
Just traded in my 2014 Odyssey for a 2022. The previous generation had a pretty good steering feel, the 2022 has none. It's like playing with a Microsoft Sidewinder wheel with no force feedback. Dead. The only bit of fun a minivan could ever have. Gone. I don't know what the reviewer is talking about really.
What the different 2021 to new 2022
What's the difference between the touring and elite?
I'll be honest, I don't know. But, if you go to the Edmund website, you'll be able to find out ;)
Are the paddle shifters controlling a DCT or CVT?
Is Honda oddyse good for snow?
It has snow mode
Is there a spare tire? It looks like honda wanted more space so yhey left it out...?
im sure there's a spare tire between the first and second row middle floor with carpet will say so.
Can anyone tell me how I can make my rear tv not backwards
We just baught new odyssey and next day transmission blow out under 200 miles if Honda good company they supposed to change my vehicle but they just change transmission so we are not happy with Honda and another problem I have in my family lots of Honda they most of loosing colors under 100 thousand mile and after Warrenty need more maintenance
Honda doesn't care. I wouldn't want a brand new car with a new engine. That diminished your value so it should qualify for lemon law.
But why no awd
Cause they didn't want to add it Mother.
Weird. It's only beginning of 2021.
IKR.
Built in US no thanks 👍. They are destroying their original liability of the Japanese brand.
The odyssey can’t hold a candle to the Pacifica or sienna.
It can. The Odyssey has greater practicality than the Sienna and unlike Pacifica, the Odyssey ditched the unreliable ZF 9AT in favor of the more reliable 10AT
Drove a Pacifica and the Odyssey was much better and more refined. Motor sounds better and it’s smoother.
The Odyssey is proven to last hundreds of thousands of miles. Just like all garbage Chrysler products, the Pacifica is gonna crap out around 75k.
The front looks so bulbous to me
No it’s sculpted nicely
Toyota Sienna looks better and gets more mpg
I'd still take the Odyssey over Sienna. Bulbous styling on the Odyssey isn't as much of a dealbreaker as the inability to remove the 2nd row from the Sienna
Why is it necessary repeatedly say, "Having said that"? very annoying
