Went for a ride-a-long in my first Tesla yesterday. A Model 3 Performance. I knew the acceleration would be very fast but it still surprised me. When you can actually feel your internal organs being forced to the back of your body, that’s impressive. If this is the future of the automobile, I’m okay with it.
Im all for evs. Long as i can still hop in my 18,000lb army truck to go get groceries. F the government.
@@brentwaters7465 ???
@@brentwaters7465 you mean convert it to electric or what?
wait until you try a plaid
@@brentwaters7465why do you need this exactly? How do you expect to fix global problems without mandates? Clearly people like you aren't changing your behavior without them.
"The confidence you have, pulling out"...if only that were true....
Is that what your boyfriend said this morning?
Say Elon 3x then turn around.
😂😂👍
clu4u you reused his joke but made it dumber. Congrats?
Man, I didn't realize how lucky I was to get a Model 3 with zero panel gaps or issues... Seems everyone else has at least a few issues
I think that mainly affected the fist batches or Model 3.
First year models are far worse
Some Audi Models and bmw aren't better either and nobody whines there.
i dont belive you :) go take a walk around your car. big gaps are pannel gaps you probably just ignored it
@@kobalov1 Trust me, I wouldn't have taken delivery with panel gaps on my car (especially uneven ones like the ones in the video), especially after coming from a Merc. Only thing mine needed addressing was some rail dust, which they took care of promptly. Surprised they didn't notice it when detailing the car before delivery though...
i rented a model 3 performance with my friend last weekend and i never had so much fun driving a car. Its a silent monster....
Yup !!!
“It’s like hearing “Dark side of the Moon” for the first time”
That remark sold it to me! 👍🎶🎵
Jason Cammisa is awesome! He’s the bomb 💣
Keep it up with the intros guys!! They are what originally got me watching your reviews and theyre still great!
I thought I would get tired of launching. It's been 9 months since I got my Model 3. Still not tired of launching.
So happy to see you’re getting the views you deserve! I’ve been watching since the first e46 build. Awesome growth & keep up the great work!
6:18 The standard regenerative braking is not only about saving battery but also for taking corners aggressively without having to shift your foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal. There are some good vids about track mode where they demo this.
Agree 100%
Also saves your brakes from wearing out!
You guys are seriously my favorite car reviewers! So entertaining and knowledgeable! Would love to see a Type R vs Veloster N. I know kbb did it but hearing you guys is just awesome!
Straight Pipes did it too, and they're also fun to watch.
This car is so well behaved on high speed sweepers under acceleration.
I can't believe I am saying this, but can push it more than my mid engine supercharged Acura NSX
Are you kidding me? Jason Cammisa is the dude! Love that intro BTW 8-D
Absolutely LOVE that matte grey , just needs black rims 😍😍
Love the Dark Side of the Moon for the first time analogy, very well done!
I like how you pointed out the wind noise. It’s noticeable because we used to hear the engine all the time.
If only you could open the trunk by saying Elon 3 times and turning around.
Haha... ok that intro was funny :) (and yeah I have a Model 3, some of us can in fact, take a joke).
@G Hq Um... usually a good troll has some sense to it. Try again.
How tesla fanatics are made - take a random nice guy with a sense of humor and add a retarded troll.
Ffs that's how musk gets his twitter followers y'all.
I swear, you guys do the best intros.
I got mine in October, had no issues and no regrets. (panel gaps seem a lot less common these days too) If you have the chance, go to a Tesla "dealership" and give one a test drive. It'll be worth your time.
I just had a test drive Wednesday in a standard range Model 3. There's not substitute for the instant acceleration also the touch screen is very simple and easy to use.
Maybe those panel gaps are there so the car makes a whistling sound for pedestrian protection 😂
That's only in the morning. Whoo whoo
I’ll informed comment
Maybe the "Panel gap" thing is a bunch of bullshit? Have you, or anyone else measured them and compared them to any other car? No, of course not. Do them even mention the obvious benefits of NEVER HAVING TO GO TO A GAS STATION? Or NEVER HAVING TO GET AN OIL CHANGE? Or basically NO MAINTENANCE for the life of the car? There are 289 moving parts on an internal combustion engine. An EV has like 3. Nothing ever goes wrong, because there is nothing TO go wrong. But none of that means anything really, compared to the fact that burning oil and gas has destroyed this world by pumping out CO2 to levels never before seen. Tesla emits no CO2. if the electricity is clean, as it is in my case, since I have solar panels, then the the whole process is VERY Clean, compared to ICE cars. Any mention of that? Nope. WHY does TESLA EXIST? Why do they make electric cars? Why? So that they can GO FAST and ExCITE US ALL? To make MONEY? Nope. None of those reasons. The mission statement of Tesla is "TO ACCELERATE THE TRANSITION TO SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION". Noble. That is a useful, noble cause. Not one mention of it. There never is. Two douches in someone elses car making bad jokes. That's all this is.
@@alexanderhamilton8585 Trade them in every 2 years, like a lease
As a pedestrian which has more moving parts and in a very abstract way similarly environmentally friendly. Although I am compostable the car is not. I still need SOME noise pollution from the vehicle to protect, my many parts. Or worse turning me into compost
I drove my nephews , and it is scary fast. You have to have your head against the headrest if you accelerate fast from a stop. By far the fastest street car I’ve been in.
@IMxYOURxDADDY so far I've gone 15,000 miles in mine and haven't consumed a single gallon of any fluid. Though eventually the battery coolant will need to be changed, and I think it uses about one gallon of that and the service interval is 30,000 miles.
So that would be 30,000 mpg.
No panel gap issues on my long range rear wheel drive Model 3. Took delivery June 2018. Love Tesla!
samer13 , mine either. 0283XX.
I have always liked Jason Camisa. Thanks for the cameo!
THE INTRO WOW 🔥 also, 2019 Golf R review next? Love you guys!
Literally next yep!
CAMMISA!.. Man, he's only of the best ever car reviewers and you guys are amazing also
Poor James, wrecked by Elon's bag squad. Great intro as always
Also glad spring is finally here and we’re done with the hat and the hair flip love the channel keep em coming
I’m gonna bring it back in the middle of the summer. You’ll never expect it.
That’s no exaggeration on the panel gaps. Me AND my neighbor had misalignments. They put me in a spec’d out Model S and in ONE day they called me to say my car was done. Needless to say I didn’t bring the S back till the end of the week 😎 (they resolve alignments, creeks, etc. not by trying to fix them but by swapping everything out with new).
Looking forward to see more!!Great Video!
After driving a Tesla, everything else feels like a lawn tractor.

I'll admit that years ago, when it came to Tesla, I was one of those cranky a-holes. I don't know why... people are just compelled to offer an opinion even if it is unfounded. Then I drove a Tesla. Then I bought an X a year ago. Best car I own. Best car I've ever owned, by far.
*laughs in Regera*
From a stoplight yeah. But its still a heavy pig around a track and everything else.

You made me rewatch the intro!
Amazing car and great honest review.
Best car show on UA-cam hands down!!!!! Gotta love those crazy Canucks
sebisnotcool this and the straight pipes
Watch some Scotty kilmer show
I think straight pipe guys r better..and come on..two ads..I left after the second ad came up
You nailed it! After test driving a 3 and an S I felt sick just starting out in the parking lot and I couldn't figure out why. Like you figured out, it was the regenerative braking messaging with my brain. Thank you, genuinely, for figuring it out for me.
Your hilarious intros are world class humor; I LMAO'd until I lost my "A" on this one!
Jason Cammisa! I am jealous - and... You guys are FAMOUS NOW!
These intros are BRILLIANT
Nice!!! I haven't seen any Albertan UA-camrs before. I smiled when I saw the license plate.
A lot of the roads you guys drive on are right near my house and I’m waiting for the day I see you guys driving around
"An alien beatle" ... :) ... Guys you are brilliant and funny. Thanks for this great review.
Nice work as ever guys
M3 LR RWD owner here. Awesome intro! I agree with the steering wheel and quality comments. Definitely needs an RS3 type of steering wheel for the performance model and those gaps and screen glitches are terrible. We have no issues with ours, but for that price, I’d be pissed.
LOL the intro was so gold
Love the introduction!
Great review..
These guys are doing it right!! May be they can Co host top gear along with Chris Harris to bring it back to the three guy routine that they've had for a very long time and missing.. I've seen plenty of reviews but these guys are exactly like how Chris Harris and Jeremy Clarkson were at the beginning of their stints in the car journo industry.. very easy review ..quirky just like how Chris was and Jeremy was when they started..
Great job guys!! Keep it coming..
3 years ago I thought it's a boring video but I just found out jason's starring in and that's awesome
You guys do a great job.
Hilarious intro. In all seriousness, this car is very intriguing. Before if you wanted a fun sports car for around $75k USD youd be looking at the m3 c63 corvette gt350 maybe a used r8/911 -- something along those lines. Now there's this, which absolutely smokes all of those for $10-15k less (depending on tax refund). Can't really think of anything as quick and torquey as this for the same price. Handling seems pretty sharp too with awd and low center of gravity. Only thing you'd miss is the sound aspect and the ability to shift gears yourself.
Best intro to date! 😂
You guys are the shiznit. Love your videos!
I'm a Tesla fan, I have no idea where the vid was going, but as soon as I saw the intro, I was laughing n gave it a like, maybe a sub now 😗
We’ll have lots more Tesla content coming!
I have a very early deposit on a Rivian, Nov 2018. After being to several times about delivery dates, it now seems early 2021. Not wanting to wait any longer, I also ordered the new Model Y Performance, Nov 15th, 2019. Luckily it's promised release date of late 2020 now seems imminent, March 2020. I really hope to get mine early summer, cannot wait. I'm sure the panel gap issue has been resolved. Keep up the good work. I am also keeping my Rivian for now. My $100 deposit on a Cybertruck will probably only get it to me in late 2021, as I was slow in placing my order.
YOU GOT JASON CAMISA?!?! AWESOME!
NICE! Liked for Jason.
Nice opening! kudos to the Jason Cammisa cameo.
I checked all the gaps at the delivery center before I took mine home...I was lucky...all the panels lined up great. Only issue was the deck lid in the back by the rear window started rattling after about a month.
BEST INTRO EVER!!!!!
Thomas- Very interesting that you are wearing a star wars t-shirt! Is this Tesla the future of driving? Love the review
Tesla fans are watching. They could be watching from ourside your window
Just checked, one looking through the blinds.
There is one in my room...oh wait, it’s me. 😛😉
But... I'm a Tesla fan =(
How did you know? Who else knows...?
The car has a nice XPEL wrap on it. Really cool!
These guys are becoming my favorite “go to” for automotive reviews
God dam how you guys so funny not much makes me laugh but you get me everytime! Haha love it
Great review! I never understood folks wrapping their car. Why hide the beautiful paint job and keep it pristine for the next owner to enjoy.
Liked the introduction 😂
Your intros are priceless
"You see a gap, its yourssss" 😂😂
That was an amazing intro 😭😂😂
Jason! Awesome.
Finally you can order one in the UK, we've been waiting for months. Now I've just gotta convince the family that it's worth it lol.
£10,000 deposit and no contract purchase available or leasing. :( Been waiting since the beginning, now not sure how I'm gonna make it happen.Wondering what insurance will be too.
@@jasonchurchill3961 you can change the downpayment on HP, rumours are PCP coming in a few weeks to the UK.
Did a quick insurance quote the other day on confused.com but seems most insurers don't respond yet so got a £7000 quote 🤣
Hi Dan, thanks for this. PCP coming good to know. Re insurance, they need to get their act together. Think they continue to rip off even though least likely car to be involved in and accident and also safest should it happen. Here's hoping we both get there somehow.
Just take your family on a test ride and they will be very likely convinced to buy one :-)
@@jasonchurchill3961 well apparently Elon and tesla is working out a new insurance program and it'll be far cheaper than most insurance offers out there right now
Ok, probably the best intro yet!
You can solve the panel gaps by wrapping the car with enough vinyl protection like this car.
Acknowledges panel gaps, ........SUBSCRIBED!
Love your videos can’t wait for a review of a 4.5L twin turbo V8 diesel Land Cruiser
A more exciting steering wheel for the Performance model is a great idea. Although the steering wheel is just fine and fits the minimalist theme. However, in regards to a HUD... try owning one for awhile and you'll understand why not. It would be distracting, it would ruin the minimalist theme, and it is entirely unnecessary because the main screen is basically a heads-up display in function. No more looking down between the steering wheel. I thought the same thing, it should have a HUD, when I bought it. Now that I've owned it for awhile I'm quite glad that it does not.
Portland Curry totally agree, people who test drive it just aren’t used it. It’s just as functional and now I’m wondering why we had the gauges in front that partially blocks a driver’s view and is blocked by the steering wheel.
I've had mine for a while, and at this point I would actually be really annoyed if they ever decided to add one when the times comes for me to upgrade.
I'm pretty sure if they added a HUD you would have the option to turn it off so I'm not sure what you're on about
What is Jason Cammisa doing these days, he is my favorite car journalist, better than even CH.
Great chassis, especially when it's missing adhesive.
Fantastic review 🤣
optional electric bag for your heads. that elon guy is a genius!
You got Jason Cammisa!
Don't tease us with a Jason Cammisa crossover. Don't you do that to us, TH! (But seriously, though, you need to do that.)
Matte gray looks so clean
You guys need to do more stuff with jason!
You just keep doing it every intro 😂😂😂.
We got 2. Our P3 has panel gaps. And Tesla could not fix them. Love the speed and performance. However, our buying experience was lacking. When other companies catch up we may not be back with Tesla because of the disappointing experience. Jaguar F pace please!!!
Every Wednesday they said... new video they said...
Haha jk. Love Throttle House videos!
2:51 the TM3 acceleration wiped the snark off his face tout de suite.
Agreed. To get it, you have to drive one.
Jason! 😍😍😍😍
I thought that phone ring in the intro was mine XD
"For better or worse, different"? You forgot to mention it doesn't spew poison.
It's superior in most ways, and absolutely superior in some essential ones. (I suppose that's different, yes.)
You had me @ Who's they.. Lmao 😂
I appreciate that this exists and others are willing to be the guinea pigs
dsmluck as someone who works in Silicon Valley and knows countless owners of Tesla products and have heard of their experiences, I’m quite confident in my comment. If you rather use a term like “early adopters” instead of “guinea pigs”, I’d be fine with that.
James appearance >>>
Alien beetle is a pretty good description 💀
They always have the best intros
awe i thought Daddy Jason was gonna be in the review 😭
Finally, can you please tell me if the performance is worth the money vs the Long range AWD? I am not a car person but i want to experience the 0-60 of the performance. Probably the closest Ill ever get to driving a sport car. But is that fun worth 10k difference.
"The confidence you have pulling out and giving it the gas..." THE GAS?
