I really enjoy the results from this method. For me this worked fantastically and the results are obvious from the video! Thank you for your nice comment!
@@sonalikaganguly9380 yes, you can use this method to paint over acrylics. Just try to buff the surface of the nail before applying. If the nail surface is smooth, the gel can chip and peel off. I know this is a year late, but hopefully this will answer anyone else's question who see your comment in the future.
Depends on the prep and how well the paints were applied. Nothing beats CND Shellac though. I've been able to get 6 weeks of wear thru chores such as dishes, yard work, raising a puppy and being a teacher.
its a nail dehydrator. you can also use acetone to dehydrate and wipe away excess oils on your nails if you don't have ph bond although it may last longer with the bond. -licensed nail tech
After watching a video with that expensive stuff I wondered if all it was was just top coat and polish and I was right! That stuff is ridiculously expensive! What a racket. Oh and now I can FINALLY buy someone those holo taco polishes I've been wanting! I don't think Christine realizes the amount of people she alienates by not making gel. I am not going back to air dry, never.
How long does the manicure last? Does this really work? I have read so many articles that claim that this does not work because these two different types of polishes just cure too differently.
well i kind of think this does work somewhat i have clear polygels and the nail polish i mix it with cures the same way just keep it under the lamp a little longer than normal
U can put reg polish between gel base and gel topcoat and it works like a dream.you JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE REG POLISH IS DRY.and apply gel polish as normal.suzie from yt channel "nail career education has a great video and a yt short on this method and other have videos on it too👍 This way seems to be the preferred method but I've mixed all my reg polish into all types of gel and it's always worked.but im not a pro like that and I'm not hard on my myself nails so....🤷♀️
Hi. I tried this method and it works beautifully... however, taking the polish off the nail was a pain. The acetone didn’t melt the gel as it usually does. so i had to use a metal tool and buff the rest of gel out of my nails. Did you have the same issue?
Gel is usually file off which is why it doesn’t come off in acetone unlike regular polish and acrylics even the gel polishes once you’ve applied the top coat you need to file it and break the top coat seal for it to even penetrate gel
I was wondering that too, but I think the issue there is that you’d have to apply the top coat to a wet regular coat.... not sure how that would work out.
The whole point of it was to not wait for it to dry. If you apply gel top coat over regular nail polish and it hasn't dried for like 24 hours it will wrinkle
Hello, I see that in the video you mix the normal nail polish with the rop coat. My question is after the base, you can't apply normal nail polish, let it dry well and then apply a top coat
Yes a lot of people do it this way. The normal nail polish must be completely dry before gel top coat otherwise it will wrinkle. People recommended just waiting until the next day to apply a gel top coat
Finally received my polish in the mail. It was hard to find. I initially did a swatch of love letter unalteredthat took 3 coats to achieve the coverage I wanted. I then mixed equal parts of love letter with my favorite gel glossy top coat and it took 5 coats to get the coverage I wanted. Because it was a gel, the drying time was much shorter so I was very pleased with the results. Thank you very much for video.
The brush is from a nail art brushes set that I've got for cheap a while ago. The whole set was not expensive at all - I think I've paid 1-2 US Dollars for it.
TFS! So you did not experience any smudging or peeling from the tip with this method? And what kind of material did you mix the nail polish in and how did you remove the excess from it and clean it up?
Wow, really helpful video!! 😊😊 I've spent so much money on OPI Nail Laquer gel with my OPI base and top coats using my £50 quid LED lamp and it's awful!😣 I applied it myself at home, let it cure and the OPI nail laquer is difficult to apply, despite me ordering a less translucent colour thinking it would work! I tried Alpine Snow Mail Laquer (white colour) and Put It In Neutral Nail Laquer (pink colour) and the consistency is horrific. I tried 50 times, worked on a clean base after dehydrating my nails with 100% acetone, and after applying the OPI base coat. Still didn't work and wasn't coming out smoothly when I was applying the colour using the brush!! I have Avon 7 in 1 nail strengthener polish (in a neutral pinkish colour) which is a dream to apply using my opposite hand. I will mix 1:1 of the regular polish with the gel top coat and follow all the steps. See what happens and I will let you know! 😀😀😊😊
@Tabo Maonde It didn't unfortunately:( I couldn't get it to work and I found it difficult to apply the nail polish with my right hand (my opposite hand) as I'm left handed I have tried countless times to sell my LED Watt Lamp and the rest of my nail equipment without any success on Ebay and Fb for 8 months! Its brand new just need a buyer as I'm not allowed to have gel nails and nail polish at all in my job I live in the UK, any buyers? Please?
yes it works ! make sure you let the regular polish dry COMPLETELY, at least 5 hours or more, then go over with gel top coat and cure, and it turns out so pretty !
i know this is an" old" video what so ever, girl, you just safed me a lot of money 💅🏼
Safed?? Shouldn't that be saved...
can't wait to try this method!! I'm tired of ruined nails due to nail polish not totally dry...regular nail polish can take so long to completely dry!

I almost gave away my regular nail polishes . Thanks for the tip.
Great video! Now I can use all of my nail polishes and turn them to long lasting gel nail polishes :) thanks

@@Meech817 and can I apply on polygel?
@@jiya_6610 yep! You can apply this on any dried enhancements. So polygel, acrylic, hard gel, fiberglass, full cover nails, etc.

Use anything that will dry out ur nails..much cheaper

Do you have to put the ph bond on acrylics
No, I apply the PH Bond to my natural nails.

Glogluxx use a nail drill (Makarrt do a stable one - use a sanding band).

I like Gelish but it's £15 a bottle over here! Expensive! Nice nail tips! UK 🇬🇧
Great info, but I'm new at this and never know how long to cure.
UV lamp 60 seconds per layer, LED lamp 30 seconds :)
@@ivonabakotic36 thank you!
I never use bond and I never have any issues with peeling or chipping.
Do you matify your nails first and then go straight to base coat?
No way😮 i have to try that.
Hi! Have you tried just applying the Top Coat over the regular polish instead of mixing them? I wonder if it works the same? Thanks! 💖
