    My fav thing about you is your voice! You’re unique on YT bc you are so chill. Never anxiety-inducing. Always such a generous, open spirit. Always so patient. You give important information to novices but without condescending. You don’t know me but for years I’ve felt like you’re genuinely here to help me be my very best.

    As someone who literally just started using gel polish, this video couldn't have come at a better time lol I just did an easter mani with builder gel as my overlay on my natural nails and I had the shape somewhat okay but they were nice and smooth, now they look a little thick and lumpy, I now realize I went too heavy with my first coat, I happen to have a gel brush so I think ill also give that a try next time! Thank you for sharing! Happy Easter 💜

    I have had issues in the past with the gel polish being too thick. The problem was the gel polish. It would get old or too thick in the bottle and hands down the best method I found for fixing this was simply soaking the bottle in hot water. I take water out of my coffee pot and just soak the bottom portion in the water for a minute. It returned to being nice and thin and applied amazingly well.

    For those of you new to using a drill be sure to file lightly and keep the bit parallel to the nail. Otherwise you may carve into the natural nail. It doesn't take much.

    When i found my hubby in South Africa 8 years ago and moved definitely to this awesome continent i had not the money to go and get my nails done. I started watching videos and bought slowly slowly everything i need to do it myself 😅
    With your support, experiences and ideas i got so motivated that i am now part of the "beginners" and i just love it❣️

    Thanks again, Suzie, please make lots of videos for us...you are a ⭐️

    Flipping the finger up side down at ~45 degrees to the floor for a couple-five seconds before putting it in the lamp also helps to redistribute the bulk from the edge towards the center.

      Honestly Top Coat is not a builder layer/ it’s simple to seal in and create shine
      If your top coat is flowing like that / it’s too thick

    • @DE-qy9om
      @DE-qy9om 2 роки тому +20

      @@NailCareerEducation a top coat can be used for leveling. Yes, it’s not a builder layer and doesn’t add much structural support especially on longer nails. However, when doing nail art design such as adding lines/decals/paintings/etc or even with minor imperfections in regular color layer, a top coat can be used to level and smooth out the final surface. Having said that, one should be mindful of the overall thickness of the finished nail. If done right, the builder layer would be adequate for support, but the nail won’t be bulky even with all finishing/leveling layers.
