Guys, just ad pigment powders (eye-shadow, blush, actual pigment powders etc) to clear gel topcoat. That's what I do & only gel I ever buy is clear topcoat
Exactly what I was looking for, had the idea but didn't know whether it would work or not! Will add that Sensationail (and probably other companies I just haven't seen) do a specific normal to gel transformer :) aaand lastly, perhaps buy some empty nail polish bottles from online or reuse old ones if you wanted to keep a colour as polish AND a handy gel version too.
+Li's NailLife I didnt try on my nails yet, just mixed it tried ti dry. The next question is: Is it easy to remove this mixture from nails. Usually I remove top coat with nail file, and after it I soak nail with acetone... But this mixture is made of top coat, will not it be a struggle to remove it? Thanks
I've found you get a more intense colour when you paint your chosen colour between clear gel, so that would be paint your nail clear gel, cure it, then paint on your colour, let it dry then coat a of gel cure it over the top.
I know that, that's a thing. But it is very tricky because the nail polish has to be completely dry, or else the polish will crack of the top coat might slip off. The mixing trick is fool proof, but yes does take some coats to get full opacity! TFW!
Really, the best way to get a manicure that wears like a gel one is to just 1- prep the nail like normal for a gel manicure; file, buff, clean with alcohol and lint-free pad, then add primer. Let dry the recommended time for that primer. 2 - Do a standard clear gel base coat, cure, and cleanse (wipe off the sticky layer; it holds moisture). 3 - Paint your regular polish on the cured and cleaned basecoat; do a thin layer, it dries almost instantly on top of the gel. When it is dry, do a 2nd coat, give it several minutes to fully dry. (rapid dry drops can be used if you are pressed for time) 4 - Top coat with clear gel, cure fully (if using the Sensationail lamp like I have have, go 2 full minutes instead of the recommended 1 minute) and clean off the sticky layer. I do this ALL the time, and my polish lasts at least 2 weeks.
Great method,as I have done the "Gelly Sandwich",but find it doesn't last long,so I think YOUR method of mixing regular polish with gel top coat will last longer.Going to try it as I have LOTS of regular polish,& I don't want to start buying coloured gels!Thank you for sharing.
SuperGirl1970 Carver I wouldn't recommend doing that because it increases the chances of the mixture not curing well enough which causes liquid chemicals to be trapped inside the nail. This could cause lifting.
I'm wondering with all the coats you have to put on is it just easier to wait for regular polish to dry fully before applying a gel top coat. The polish was so sheer the first two coats it must have taken at least 7 or 8 coats to get full opacity, you have a lot of patience! Either way it's an interesting video, thanks for sharing.
The brush that she is using does that, is better you you a polish brush with more product, plus the polish she choose is already kind off jelly, it would work better if it was more opaque and pigmented
I haven't tried this with many gel topcoats yet but I suppose you could use a small amount of clear acrylic powder to thicken up the topcoat by mixing it into the gel before you add the nail polish?
+Sarah Dicken Hi! Yes, you could use acrylic powder to thicken up the gel top coat! But only do this for small amounts of gel and don't mix up your whole gel top coat, I did that once and after a week the compleet bottle was unusable because the gel went to thick! Good luck ;)
My favorite method is to use a peel-off base coat, leaving a margin around the edges of the nail so it won’t just pop off quickly. After 10-14 days, the edges start to lift and the polish peels right off with no damage. UNT is the best brand, by far, in my opinion. Good luck!
Gel top coat of Ingredient:Resin/RUBBER it should be okay to do this with regular nail polish right? Have you done this yet? Also did your's crackle crack the next day?
+Giuliana Mandriotti Hii! Here is the link from where I got my lamp. I got two of these, one from the link and one from banggood. unfortunetly banggood doesn't sell these lamps anymore, but this one is exactly the same! TFW! nl.aliexpress.com/item/New-Fashion-3W-Mini-Portable-USB-Nail-Led-Lamp-for-Curing-Nail-Dryer-Nail-Gel-Polish/32328213594.html
For removal file top layer off nail and then soak some cotton in acetone and wrap around the nail with aluminum foil. Scrape loosend gel off after 5 minutes and soak again. I will make a video if you like!!
Endless87Love The trick I use mostly is mixing some acrylic powder with my gel, but be careful you don't need much it becomes very thick very fast. Also only mix small batches at a time, only what you need, because over time the gel mixed with acrylic gets thicker and thicker and in the end unusable! Hope this helps, TFW!!
Can you use the brush from the regular nail polish? Or it will ruin it? Also, what’s the brush you are using, and how do you clean after use? Thanks for the video!
Buy empty nail polish bottles from eBay/amazon/aliexpress/wish or wherever else, oorr reuse old empty bottles. Perhaps only mix small amounts at a time, I'm gonna try it out soon. Currently have a dip powder on
Wow 6 minutes before getting to the whole purpose of video...tfs anyway but, next time only include the video material & tell ppl if they'd like to see your nail prep routine that you have those videos & they can go back to watch them
Or you could just have your own channel and post your own videos in the manner you have mentioned.... 🤔🤷♀️ Honestly curious- what makes you think you can tell someone else how to shoot and post their videos??

But i have loads of reg polish
And maybe this method wld help avoid so many layers? Thanks for the tip
Oooh, great way to coordinate makeup looks. I also have tonnes of eyeshadows including some colours I would never use on my face. Thanks :)
You can do This with acrylic too!
Exactly, I also have a ton of regular nail polish.
Thank you!!! I tried it tonight and my nails look amazing, thanks to you I will save a lot of money♥️

Thank you thank you thank you! You seem very passionate about this and I am with you. Going to order a gel nail start up kit...
Works with Zoya polishes and Gelish top coat. Zoya have rare and beautiful colors, which are not available in gel. So I am very happy. Thanks :)
You're welcome!!

I was able to soak mine off with just the same time and steps as I normally do!

+Li's NailLife I must try this, sounds promising 👍
I do this sometimes, but I hate waiting for the regular polish to dry. It’s a pain in the but!
Thank you Li! I really needed this video!! 💅🏼💗🙋🏼👋🏼

Why do you think it didn’t last never long? Did the regular and gel polish peel apart or where you getting chipping?
how long does it last on nails?
Sooo informative and point by point explanation. I know it has been 3 years, but where did you get this lamp? I need a travel option. Thanks
My main problem is it peeling up from the base coat
I saw the technique on other channel too but they recommend more polish then gel topcoat ratio.
SuperGirl1970 Carver I wouldn't recommend doing that because it increases the chances of the mixture not curing well enough which causes liquid chemicals to be trapped inside the nail. This could cause lifting.
I looked this up because I was curious if it worked. I only have white gel polish, but I want pastel french tips with gel polish lol.

What is a primer? What does it do?

What is procedure for taking this combo off? My pet peeve is that soaking the nails in acetone for 10+ minutes, leaving my nails dry as driftwood.

Thank you for the video... How many layers did you do?
I think 3 or 4! TFW!

Hey so if I do this same steps on acrylic nails will I have to use primer or is it only because it's your natural nail??
Its Munchkin usually base coats for polish aren’t needed on enhancements. You can go right in with this method on top of your acrylic.
@@sydniee thanks.... Check my progress IG #SetsByMunchkin
hows the removable process plz and thank u

How could I make gel polish thicker for nail art instead of buying the pods
Endless87Love The trick I use mostly is mixing some acrylic powder with my gel, but be careful you don't need much it becomes very thick very fast. Chemist recommends more air dry polish and only a max of 20% gel since it might not cure fully.
Why you clean it with alcohol wipes
How many watts is that light small light? Where did you get it from?
can i use any nails top coat
For the mixing part you should use a THICK GEL top coat! Like the one I linked in the description! TFW!
youre accent makes you sound dutch! :))
