I misspoke in the video, that button in the center console with the trailer and arrow on it is the “trailer backup guide” that assists you when backing up a trailer.
One of the best reviews I’ve seen so far on the new Taco. You chose a good day to record your video and the lighting is perfect for viewers. Your truck is awesome. It’s what I have in mind to purchase soon this year (waiting for the prices to come down a little, perhaps by Fall). Thanks for the post.
Excellent video!! Ty for sharing.
Super good review I've watched a lot of 2024 tacoma videos in this one isn't annoying👍👍thanks
You sir is a lucky man.. congrats on your awesome truck..
Thanks for all of the info. I am waiting for my Taco Off Road Premium to come in this video was extremely helpful with the interior gadgets. Good luck with your new ride and keep the videos coming.
One thing he didnt touch on that I learned the hard way, is a little dial to the left of the steering wheel with numbers on it. I thought it was for the brightness for the interior lights, but its a manual headlight leveling switch. I had it set to 5 and couldnt see anything driving at night. After looking in the manual, figured this out and fixed it by putting it back to 0. Grats on your new Taco, really enjoying mine!
Thanks for the info. I have never seen that before. I think I will be leaving that feature alone.
@@beacatron3559 I had no idea that's what that dial was for. It's very late and I'll look ridiculous walking outside to try that out. But I will definitely have to take a look at that tomorrow.
Great video, thanks. Just got my ‘24 Sport Premium. Loving it so far! Wanted the Limited but couldn’t find one available within a month. Traded my ‘17 Limited and love the difference in the drive! A little overwhelmed by the technology but we’ll get it figured out. 5th Tacoma I’ve owned, loved every one so far! Nice truck brother! Happy driving!
Awesome! I haven’t heard of one person not loving the 4th Gen so far.
Nice, congrats on your new truck. I'm enjoying my 21 army green tacoma 4wd with a manual trans. 😅
Save the manuals!
Great review bro. I got mine 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love it
Nice! What trim?
@@MuscleAmerican TRD Off Road, black with the premium package.
100% best Tacoma review I've seen.
Wow thank you 🙏
I love everything about the 4th gen. The Looks, interior comfort & features, mechanical upgrades over the 3rd gen are all awesome. Im not too hot on how the engine sounds and feels after driving one a few times but other than that its a great improvement over the 3rd gen. Toyota did a good job. Still love my 2019 to death and will most likely be holding onto it for several more years
Thanks for the video! I definitely would be interested in towing and especially at higher speeds to see how it performs
Absolutely!
An awesome truck, but I wish it was priced 20% lower.
I had a rubber Tacoma mat in my 2022 Tacoma!
I'm glad of the new changes. I had a 2016 Tacoma SR and hoping to get the new 2024 TRD sport.
Do it, that will be a big improvement!
Nice interior!
I live in SC where sales tax on a vehicle is capped at only $500. I would drop dead seeing a sales tax of $3919 on a vehicle. Great looking
truck by the way.
Wow that’s great! Wish that was the case here.
Nearly $60k OTD. TRD PRO's are going to be insane, price wise. Nice truck.
Yeah man... ill just wait until they are priced accordingly.
@@Scott-sm1bsI don't know if you'll ever see ones as loaded as the one he has here for less. But I bought a 4x4 TRD Off Road this week with an out the door price 11,000 less than he paid for this one (dealer had them discounted). This one he's driving is maxed out with a lot of cool options. But for 10-11k less, you can still get one that is very nice. Only thing I wish mine included is the Sunroof and extra cameras, because the massive 14 inch screen seems kinda pointless without them. I'm perfectly happy to not have a power tailgate and I can back a trailer just fine without assistance.
It’s not for peasants!
Congrats on picking a beautiful truck. I picked up my white TRD OR last week and Im in luv w it. I’ve only got windows tinted so far but planning on little bigger more aggressive tires and undecided whether to do a moderate lift or just Westcot level kit. I thought the same about E parking feature, it’s worthless and my sunshade also scrapes the roof. Looking forward to c what mods u do to urs.
The sun visor and parking brake are a little strange. Anything else you’ve noticed?
For mods I’m thinking Westcot with 33’s is the route I’m going to take.
Mine is also in white with the blackout package. Beautiful truck. Didn't care for white at first but as I was looking more at it, it's what I ended up getting.
Same. I wanted a manual transmission. All they had was white TRD OR premium. I traded my 23 OR automatic with 5k miles.
I’ve got a sport premium and I hate the parking brake hold, it holds me on hills until I take off but I can’t tell the person behind me that I’m driving stick
@@evanblackmaneb I like the hold w my automatic, I just haven’t found a use for the E parking feature unless I’m missing in what situations it’s good for.
Nice looking truck, but could you comment on the temporary spare tire and the plastic “skid plate” seems like an oversight on such an expensive vehicle
Hey man great video! I’m picking up my TRD Off-road next week and you got me so much more excited for it to arrive. A question I have is what am I missing not having the premium package? Mine says it comes with heated seats option and multimedia upgrade but it seems the premium comes with those as well?
So the ones that come to mind is the SofTex seats, duel climate control, ventilated seats, and power tailgate. Those are the ones that come to mind, I’m sure I’m missing more.
@@MuscleAmerican Called my dealership, They mentioned the JBL sound system and Remote start being part of the premium. I'm hoping the Multiple cameras is included in the base Off-road. Thanks for the reply!
@@Chicaronmanit’s not. It’s an optional package and it’s in the very high premium packages. Basically a TRD Pro package but you can get it. I’m missing that too. I got heated seats but not ventilated.
Nice truck! I owned a first and second gen Tacoma in rhe past. Both great trucks. Although the second gen had the frame recall. Currently driving my 2010 Tundra which I love but would like to go back to the Tacoma. Going to give them a year or two to figure out the four-cylinder turbo. Enjoy your nice new ride.
Hey thanks, Enjoy that V8 while you can!
Awesome explanation on all the features of your new gen 4 TRD Off road premium. I have the same one order except I’m getting the blue crush metallic and will add the roof rack, since I kayak. Trading my 22 off rd which I paid 45 for in 22. They’re giving me 42 trade in.
Awesome! You’re going to love it. And that’s some killer resale value for your 22.
Thanks for sharing. Please do a comparison
Absolutely! It’s in the works
I’ve only been able to work through my dealership, but the interior looks pretty, narrow, too!
Had a 2021 tacoma trd off road. Hated the gear hunting and had a little accident that made me want to get rid of it. Traded for a 2024 trd off road tacoma. So far no regrets. Feel like it drives better than the 2021, seats are more comfortable, so far just really enjoying it. Was hesitant about the 4 cylinder at first until I test drove one and really put my foot down. It won me over. There are only two tacomas I miss. A 2015 that I stupidly got rid of, and my first truck a 1991 toyota pickup, which again stupidly got rid of.
I got the most recent KD Maxx tune and my sprint booster optimized on 21 TRD over a year ago. Now it drives like a car. Absolutely no gear hunting. It just grabs a gear and hold onto it. Don’t even feel the shifting anymore. Also, the throttle response was like driving a completely different vehicle. Congrats on your new Tacoma.
Very nice truck! Did you buy your 2018 V6 brand new and if so how big of a difference was the out the door price?
I did buy it brand new it 2018 and paid $40k ish out the door
@@MuscleAmerican Very cool! Congratulations on being able to afford both 👍
Great video with good detail. Thank you sir. I have a toyota xrunner I want to trade for this truck in underground or white.
When you do the backseat legroom, measure the length of the seat for thigh support. See if you have more thigh support with the 4th gen vs the 3rd gen.
Good point, the seat could be larger. I’ll be sure to measure that.
About the flip up rear seat, I don’t think that strap is actually meant to lift the seat. It’s used to snap into the backrest to keep the bottom folded up.
It doesn't shut off with a remote start. Have you checked if someone can drive off with it without the key fob being in the cab?
You can’t drive off without the key fob. If you try to put it in drive before pressing the start button it will shut off.
I do trhink any of them are worth it without the 6 cylinder
Nice truck! I just picked up A pro X4 with every available option including leather and moonroof and trailer hitch 360 camera $47,000 Baja storm metallic 3.8 l naturally aspirated. 0 to 60 and 7.2 60 - 0 in 110 ft 9 speed transmission! Congrats on your new truck mine is made in Canton Mississippi 🇺🇸🤠
Yeehaw! Congrats on the pro 4X!
Just traded my 21 TRD sport MT for a 24 TRD sport MT. I didn't want to like the new 4th gen, but after test driving it, I knew I wasn't leaving the dealership with my old truck. Over priced? Yes, but lets be honest, most Tacoma owners dump tons of money in mods on previous gens that make them overpriced, and Toyota paid attention and did them for you
I bet the manual is a blast to drive. Congrats!
So I'm on my 9th Tacoma. I lease. I may buy this time. Currently I'm in a 2021 TRD pro. My last payment is next month. Apparently no one knows when the Pros will be mass produced, at least their not on any lot here in South MS. What is on the lot are some 2024 off roads and a TRD sport 4x4. I have a decision to make soon. One major issue is interest rates. My perfect credit locked me in at 4.9 2yrs ago for my lease. Going interest rates are around 7 or 8ish. And that is also with good credit score. Would the sport 4x4 offer more bells and whistles than the off road you think?
The sport and off road trims can be specd the same way, so there is no difference.
Got the same one as you without the sway bar in bronze oxide. Get it in about 2 months
Nice! Love that
My 2021 TRD Sport 4X4 has the Technology Package and it has the passenger door lock sensor on it.
Yeah 2020 is when they added it
Super nice truck! But I can't justify spending in Canada 15k more for almost same truck I got in 2020 TRD OR prem. thats all paid off now. New ones are nice, but not sure of reliability of new one. Especially made in Mexico. They have also cheapened a few things on new one like leather seats are no longer leather, but vinyl , 4cyl over V6, also LED headlights should be like the pro day time running lights.
Bro. Awesome truck I hope you enjoy the crap outta it.
Thank you 🙏
Always put it in nuertral first when engaging or disengaging 4 low.
Ive been a Toyota fan for over 40yrs because of reliable and longevity. I cant see that an overworked 4cyl turbo will get 300k miles.
Is there a heads up display on any of the new Tacoma’s,
There is a heads up display on the limited models
@@MuscleAmerican not even the TRD Pro?
@@dylansemp1474 pro limited and trailhunter get it
Just sold my 17 Tacoma TRD off road and man I loved that truck. Bought for 28k and sold for 27k after 5 years lol. But now we’re in a 24 tundra TRD off road
How do you like the Tundra?
Anyone know if its possible to get the Front Stabilizer Disconnect added afterwards? Mine didnt come with it either. 😢
Same question I'm trying to find out. Hopefully.
I wish there was an option to get the Prerunner wheels…
I look forward to your 120K review with a 4 banger turbo in a hauling vehicle.
I’ll never drive it that much to see those miles
Great looking truck! Your lucky Southeast Toyota didn’t get their hands on it. $79 phone cables, $129 screen protectors, $500 PPF on hood and door edges, etc. Drives me crazy
Yeah that stuff is annoying
Thoughts on cloth vs softex seats?
I like them so far. They are softer and have more of a cushion than my 3rd Gen. My only concern is how they are going to hold up over time. The durability is questionable, but we will see.
does the sunroof just go up or back or either?
It does both, you can open and close it or raise it up.
Was there an option to get this in iforce max?
Not at the time I got it but there is now. The hybrid is an additional $3k.
What is the difference in the off road vs. Sport.
Rear locker, off road tuned suspension and tires.
Nice video. Nice truck. Have yet to drive a 24. I’m afraid to lol may kick my 19 to the curb 😂
wait one more year. hopefully interest rates will drop and toyota will work out the problems in the new model.
I like to add that my 2023 Tacoma has the passenger door unlock sensor. Maybe the earlier 3rd gen’s don’t have it.
Yep I think they added that in 2020. Someone else made a similar comment.
My 2021 TRD Sport with the technology package does have the passenger door unlock sensor.
My Colorado Trail Boss has 310hp 430# torque 💪🏻🇺🇸👊🏻 41,100 with every option you can get on one and payed in full! ✌️
Cant believe they didnt fully fix the remote start. At least it doesnt shut down when opening the door
Yeah it’s a little slow and the AC/heat will not automatically adjust based on the temperature outside. But, at least it doesn’t turn off when you open the door!
How does the turbo sound from inside the cab?
With the radio off you can hear it whistle a little!
@MuscleAmerican I have an Outback wilderness now, and there is 0 turbo noise, which was a bit of a bummer. I am looking forward to some more content on this truck as you drive it
33s are a good choice. I think anything bigger looks weird on these smaller trucks
Agreed, seems proportional to the rest of the truck
35's looks better to me just my 2 cents
Hopefully the first year of this generation will not have problems. Thats a ton of plastic controlling a bunch of sophisticated electronics . That plastic drive selector knob and numerous buttons mounted horizontally right next to drink holders and the general debris collection zone seems like a recipe for multiple failure modes. The features are awesome but appear to be executed on the cheap and flimsy side without consideration for real life practicality. I will be surprised if these gen 4s have anyway near the longevity of the previous generations. The build quality and design considerations don't suggest that this will hold its resale value like previous generations. Nice video, great overview dude!
Are there rain-sensing wipers?
No it does not
I agree it actually looks way too small and they should’ve made it at least three answers longer
They should of kept the E Brake handle. Much funner
Channel name muscle America ends up getting a 4 banger 😂
Hey, It’s got a turbo! 😂
any added markups?
No mark up, paid MSRP
I got mine $1200 below msrp. 👌
@@thepdc6220 Premium upgrade?
How much ground clearance does it have ?
11 inches

Not crazy about that 4cylinder engine... I think I will hold on to my 2021 Tacoma Sr-5......
What don’t you like about it?
@@MuscleAmerican that 4 cylinder...... 4 cylinder means more rpm....a lot of strain on a smaller engine..... not to mention that rats nest when you pop open the hood.....
@@MuscleAmerican i also think the value of 6-cylinder Tacoma's are gonna go up......
why they hang out the pipe too far away ?
I don’t know, it does look a little strange
Can’t wait to get mine it’s in route 😎

Next video, point out the + S - (plus minus) shifting. No one is mentioning that.
You can hear the 4 bangin
She bangin hard
Not to mention that he’s probably not able to afford the “4 bangin” 😂
@@jonnyturcios2327 wish I would have waited for the 4 banger and not got my 6 banger.
@@jaymz0074 If the 4 banger isn't your cup of tea, just don’t buy it. But it's funny how some people get all worked up about it.
@@jaymz0074 Said no one ever 😂
Cant believe someone would pay over 50K in this xD
My 24 ORP 4runner , doesent even have remote start.. Count your blessings
Tacomas shld not cross $50k on top trim. Unfortunately, priced too high.
Wish it had memory seats though.
Maybe but if you’re the only driver, once you set the seats why would you change them?
on my 3rd gen i can lock an unlock on the passenger side as well. Just sayin lol
Oh really? What year is it?
2020@@MuscleAmerican
@@rhbowhunter good to know! They added Apple CarPlay that year too. It’s a good one to have.
Yes sir I love my truck, but I really love your new truck I may upgrade in 2025@@MuscleAmerican
It’s better to be little heavy footed since you want to vary the speed more during the break in. 🙂. Also don’t forget to wait until 500 miles to tow.
Go easy on the front differential 😂
I dont know about that wing and that one may not hold value so well😅😅😅
Badass truck. Yes it costs to much, what doesn't these days?
Yeah sadly prices are up across the board
Beautiful truck!!! I’d like one but god damn that price !!! Jesus h. Christ
It’s nuts I agree
You get a lot more with a bigger price. Upgraded everything I mean. Plus I checked on other brands..all prices are higher. Inflation.
You’re gonna pay for that torque again when the turbo burn out.
Nah
That's >$50,000? 😳
Yeah that trd sport sticker needs to go. Are you going to remove soon. Post a video of it be kool
58k for 2024 tacoma midsized truck...ripoff just have standard features. I just got 2024 rav4 xle awd with weather premium only package add on and out of door with 10 yr warranty total cost of $40k but wanted the tacoma that was not really in stock or high mileage used in black o white nobody wants.
ah understood. get one used.
Well. I guess someone has money.
most of these are sitting on the dealer lots because no one wants to spend 50k on this.
The last GEN was 50 K for the loaded Trd models, and in most places people are having to go to another state just to get one. Have no idea where you’re getting your information from.😂
Where are you looking. Dealer can't keep them on the lot here. Disappearing the same day they come in.
Haters will hate.
Yeah seriously, I was on a wait list for a year and a half for one of these and it’s still hard to get the one I want delivered. Other trucks hitting the lots are gone the moment they land or are already accounted for
These trucks are all spoken for upon allocation in my area. I absolutely love my new truck!
Deinately a much better looking truck than the older generations. The older gen look very cheap and the lower end torque was just terrible
Nope.3rd gen is a much better looking truck.they squared this one off to try and compete honda,Ford Chevy designs
@@terryeverly5617 3rd gen looks very feminine and girly. was never a big fan. wait and see the 4th gen will grow on you
Over $50k and no engine cover ? Toyota is on some bs
I’d guess it’s to keep it cooler when doing slow trail running. Turbos run hotter
Just got a brand. We 4Runner for 46k 12k less I’m sorry but you over paid it’s your money Brad truck thank you for posting but I’ve been watching my local market in not cal and out the door 41k on sr5 45/46k on your exact same truck in my opinion that was 10k over priced from fair market value
Nope ,I'll keep my 2023 , this thing is a electrical nightmare, I'm 60 paid cash for it and it will last the rest of my days or until Biden outlaws gas engines 😂😂
That price n made in Mexico?! No thank you.
Nice truck, too much money.
Well, it’s his money!
Hahaha. Who needs convenience when closing a tailgate. Ferry boys? Seriously. This new truck makes me sick. And in the end, it's just a four banger smart truck. Have to turn this video off after the first three minutes.
Note: the last video I had to turn off was this exact same model losing 4 wheel drive after a gear broke or something while doing some light offroading. Good luck!
Ok bro ✌️
The air dam improves fuel economy thats why its there regardless if you notice it or not. New Taco over priced, under powered.
The off road doesn’t have the air dam and pricing are up across the board.
What a nighymare to control your vehicle. All of those features are just loaded with headaches to make it work. Seems like they went through all that efforts with feature, but fail to fine tune it to make it simple. Why go through all of that useless step to just get one thing to work is just baffling to me. The guage cluster is just so primitive so outdated and dull.
Nope I will keep my 2021 TRD off-road Tacoma
Is that supposed to be a truck or some luxury vehicle you nit pick.
Who’s nit picking? I love this truck
Nope not worth the money you had to pay for it . Happy you can afford to buy it if that’s what you want , but out of my price range .
I do not understand why people buy a first production year of anything..... They are already having recalls. But I guess they need people to be their Test dummies, to Go through all the troubles and tribulation. So that get all the bugs worked out. There's already videos online of guys having their front differential exploding from the inside on these tacomas. And having to wait weeks to get a replacement.
I bought an earlier model 5th Gen RAV4 in 2018. So far no recalls and nothing has broken at 115k miles.
I agree it's not all the vehicles. It's just that there's so many growing pains when they do such a massive change in motor transmissions All those things even the first year V6 tundras had Some pretty major problems.
Link the videos of the front differential exploding. Other than the tfl video.
What is that?
18-21 year old financial decision …
Thank about puttig $60,000 in the stock market , over 20 years and keep adding $$$ . Retire a millionaire. Vehicles will ruin your retirement. With that said nice truck !
Don’t make me feel guilty 😂
Yoooooo, this mfer thinks he's gonna get to retire!! 😂😂😂
Any way you look at it you are paying roughly 60 cents a mile to operate a vehicle. It doesn’t matter if you’re driving something older or a brand new vehicle. Repairs and maintenance will increase as the depreciation rate decreases. As long as you stick with vehicles that have slow depreciation rates and are inexpensive to repair there is nothing wrong with buying a new vehicle every 5-10 years. Vehicles are expensive, but they are worth more when you sell. In addition many people die before or shortly after retirement. You need to live a little, but save/invest at the same time.
You only live once. Enjoy the truck
