    There is a lot of tradeoff when it comes to our single gear motorbikes. If you use a larger sprocket, your max speed is limited by port timing and how well the crank is balanced. With a smaller sprocket, you need more engine torque to pull away from a stop but you can achieve greater speeds at lower RPM. To increase torque, you can delete the base gasket (increases compression and gives less exhaust duration/blowdown), use a high compression cylinder head or sand down the top of the cylinder until you have between 130 and 140psi compression, add a reed valve/windowed piston, and stuff the crankcase. To increase top RPM, increase exhaust duration by raising the roof of the exhaust port (don't overdo it!) and installing a larger carb to allow more airflow.

    I hated the 44 tooth sprocket, I like to cruise fast. Currently I'm rocking a 28 tooth and getting over 40 mph top speeds. Sucks from a dead stop though. I think the 36 tooth will be ideal.

      Can you get going from a standstill using only your clutch and throttle with a 28 tooth? It sounds like you’d need to peddle.

    • @jeffcard3623

      Yeah, it would take feathering the clutch forever otherwise, and it is obviously quite hard on it.

      Nothin much other than treatin her right since I got it. Always break in fully with richer mixture. As of now, I have about 3,900 miles on it. They don't really last this long, over 25mph it really doesn't like but anything slower in neighborhood is fine.

    Should be lubricating your chain atleast once a week anyway they always rust if you dont. Rain humidity moisture keep it with nice oil clean with a rag beforehand if it's dirty with oil.

    When stopping then going at stop signs, you need to use the clutch, pedal a little whilst letting out the clutch slowly with some gas, and she will have way better acceleration for traffic

    • @WhiskersTheFish
      @WhiskersTheFish  3 роки тому +3

      @LocalsOnky-06 3 роки тому

      Only problem with that is it wears out your clutch. But for a gas bike in my opinion when the clutch is worn out it works better becuase for mine it’s so far gone I don’t even need to petal from a stop. I just slowly let out my clutch and slip it all the way till like 10 mph when it’s fully engaged

    hey...I watch a lot of videos to see what I can do to improve my two bikes...I just ordered a 36 tooth sprocket, can't wait till it gets here. Did you run your bike on that speed test with that sloppy loose chain? Man, that's dangerous. if that chain ever came off at speed because it wasn't tensioned properly, you could very easily go right over the handle bars when it does come off...slide that whole tensioner back towards the rear sprocket. I'd hate to see you get hurt havin' fun man...PEACE

      Just got that new stinger chopper frame + the stage 4 bbr kit. I know a lot of people are hating on the stinger frame right now but I'm 6'1 215 lbs, I fit well with the seat all the way up, and it feels well built except for vibrations at high rpm. Havent gotten a Speedo yet, but with a 36 tooth sprocket and about a quarter throttle it's probably doing 20-25 ish. Very peppy motor, but unfortunately I can't use the banana pipe because it doesn't fit. Probably just gonna have to modify the stock exhaust

    Is it possible to start without pedalling from a stop on 36T?

    • @WhiskersTheFish
      @WhiskersTheFish  Рік тому +2

      If you are talking about taking off from a dead stop, I would not recommend it. I've just barely done it once. These clutches are meant simply for engaging and letting go of the engine's power, they are not meant to slip. It will not only take forever to take off, but it will very quickly destroy your clutch pads. If you cannot pedal due to an obstruction or mods, consider one of the wider pedal crank sets to extend your pedals out further.

    • @WhiskersTheFish
      @WhiskersTheFish  3 роки тому +2

      It all depends on the engine really. Weaker engines like mine will not gain much at all from this. Mine only gained about 5mph. But a phantom 85, or true 100cc engine will gain a lot from this sprocket. Probably 15mph. When I had a tuned expansion chamber exhaust on this bike(it added about 1-2hp) I got to 42mph with this sprocket.

    38cc won't pull at all with that sprocket,, 49cc will handle it but peddling required for sure, and the slightest hill will annoy you,
    66cc or bigger is suited for those sprockets.
    As to your chain, a bike chain is not under the torque or stress as the drive chain for the motor, decent budget chain lube will keep your chain moving freely and won't prematurely wear out the rookies or open up links.
    Upgrade to a stainless 415 chain 110 link, PJ One chain lube once a week and your good to go 👍.
    Oh yeah, I don't slip my clutches, I peddle and just let it out quick and gas it, usually 3-4 pedal rotations is plenty for my bikes to pull me
