Your motor has a very severe air leak. Every time you pull in the clutch I can hear the motor rev up. It could as simple as a o ring in the carb or a left side crank seal those are known to pop out very easy.

Yup, it’s the offset intake. Which worked to my advantage on this project. I also ramped up the idle so the motor would rev. I’ve since switched it back to the cnc intake to tame it down.

The motor shouldn’t die out like that going uphill on a 36t sprocket sounds like your lacking power and you have a air leak as it revs up when you have your clutch in I would port your cylinder cut the exhaust pot 36-38mm wide 1mm on the roof intake not as wide and 1-1.5mm down you will have more rpm less torque but torque isn’t that important I don’t run reed valves I say you can get better performance out of a piston port with a ph21 carb and there a lot easier to tune I’m running a 32t on a 66cc get 52mph top speed uphill does 20mph but there are some drawbacks to piston port although very informative video good job 👍

Instead of having the 46t installed, my pure cycle bike came with a 14t already installed on the left side rear and it fit and lined up! Is it wise or idiotic to do! It’s my first build and would appreciate any input! Good or bad! Thank you guys!👊🤘

It won't have much low end performance but will have good top end the stock 44t you can get to 32 to 34 mph and every tooth less is roughly 1 mph faster but it may take a long distance to get to top end with a 14t it may help to have higher compression and a turned exhaust to have pull or acceleration.. me I like the 40 or 44t sprocket to get to cruising speed fast say 28 30 mph because of stop and go for city travel with a 14t by the time you get up to speed you'll have to stop and start the long process all over again unless you're on country back roads

Many will appreciate this descriptive information when choosing sprockets. Much gratitude to you as the hill I have to traverse is an average of 14 degrees and over an eighth of a mile. Hard on brakes goin down. Performance engine heavily ported 21mm carb expansion chamber lightweight aluminum with steel swing arm soft street suspension . Even so the hill is at a barely legal grade limit (one short section exceeds the 17degree limit at the very top making it a challenge with my 42 t. Halfway is as far as I’ve got. I’m thinking about that 58 dollar nitrous kit for this one hill. The rest of my travels are small slopes mostly flat so I don’t wanna go to a lower gearing( larger sprocket) If I could attack the hill at a speed nearing the powerband 6800 rpms attempting to accelerate but nowhere to build up speed over 10mph at bottom. Jack shafts rob power and good ones are heavy. I’m thinking about a two sprocket using a modified upside down front derailleur as my motocross chain tensioner will easily take up the slack but I gotta get up this damn hill at least twice a week. Stranded time an again. Pushing it up or leaving the bike roadside not an option so I just wanna sleep in my own bed as opposed to roadside or waiting on a truck or disassembling my bike into 3 parts to carry in a car. @@tonytaylor5087 yeah something tells me helium balloons and rocket power might be a bit too much Wylie Coyote for this county to tolerate. Alternate nitro / alcohol fuel tank ?? Maybe even devising a quick change sprocket . One damn hill is not gonna beat me . Actually it’s a mountain but im gonna chop it down with the edge of my hand🎶

I weigh 155lbs. The 32T does me perfectly fine. I like top end speed. I don’t care about torque I can petal like the bike was meant to do. Once I get the rpm’s going I have more torque than your big dumb 44t-53t sprockets on flat ground gaining speed WAY faster than a 44t.
If your engine isn’t ported or upgraded some you aren’t going to get rpm’s with a 32t.
32 and 36t are the best sprockets for the 2 strokes if you weigh 155lbs and like speed.

The 20 mph test is strange for me because the bigger the sprocket the more power/ acceleration and that was the opposite in your video how does a 36 tooth have more power/ acceleration but doesn't go as far up the the hill

Yet on certain set ups one can create great speeds and not sacrifice in power a whole lot. I'm working on providing Proof of my theory yet it's probably been proven years before me.

Your description is deceptive. 634-588=46 feet rise. The graft angle you show on screen is 25 degrees. ???? Maybe you meant 7 percent grade? I have a few hills like that here. 36T l had to pedal at 1/2 way, 44T l start at 25mph, no pedal, and reach top at 22mph, not bad. That's pulling a WeeHoo single wheel trailer. The 36T was stock, the 44T is BBR Stage 4.

Here is the answer to the question everyone wants to know, whats the difference in top speed? Here is the answer, on an average 26" tired bike and a standard kit which is based on a 44 t rear sprocket, for each tooth you go down you increase top end 1mph and the opposite. So if you go 30mph on your bike with a stock 44t rear and switch to a 36t, that is 8 teeth or 8mph, so now you will hit 38mph with a slower takeoff and more pedaling. same way, your 44t will outrun a 36t until it tops out then the 36 will overtake it and go 8mph faster all other things being equal. your welcome!
