1997 Lincoln Town Car Cold Start and Rev
Переглядів 1168 місяців тому
Car is a 1997 Lincoln Town Car Cartier. The Cartier trim included a true-dual exhaust which raised horsepower from 190 to 210. Here is a short video showing that exhaust on a cold start at 40 degrees.
55MPH FLY-BY ON MINIBIKE WITH NEW STRAIGHT PIPE!
Переглядів 154Рік тому
I had to get a new exhaust because my old one was too heavy and kept breaking the exhaust studs. This new exhaust sounds very nice and leans out my engine a little, which was needed because it was too rich before. Here is me doing a flyby with the new exhaust at approximately 55mph.
Coleman BT200X Mini Bike Gets a Straight Chain!

The torque converter is no more. I have switched to just a clutch and straight-chain to the rear sprocket. After upgrading the engine the torque converter began to slip to the point where I couldn't take off without the engine reaching unsafe RPMs. I have now switched back to a clutch. Acceleration from a dead stop sucks, but no more slipping! And when it's engaged, the bike just takes off! I h...

Hello everyone, I didn’t have time to post a full video, but wanted to show y’all what I’ve done to the bike since the last video. I installed my Mikuni VM22 that I had on the old engine. (I tuned it really nicely). I also added some pipe fittings onto the exhaust to make it a rear exit, and a little longer. The bike is pushing 60mph now. A video will be out within the month! Soda Can Muffler for F2 Thrust Pipe Motorized Bike!
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
In this video I made my own muffler for my F2 Thrust exhaust with a metal can. It made the exhaust quieter for sure at the expense of lowering the torque and top speed. I went on a long 10 mile ride with the muffler going through trails and areas I was exploring. Enjoy the video! Make sure to Subscribe!
Seltzer Can Muffler for Motorized Bicycle

I used a hose clamp to attach a truly can muffler to my bike’s f2 thrust exhaust. It is noticeably quieter and from what I can tell doesn’t affect performance. It also sounds kind of cool, better in person than on camera.

In this video I go full throttle with exhaust baffle cap removed. Also, the screeching you hear is not my tires sliding on the ground, they are my bicycle's brakes.
I headbutted it
Awesome video. I love the 97 but I dunno how practical this car is as a daily. Let me know what car issues you’ve had with it so far curious to know what problems this year gives.
Overall these cars are tanks. However, being that a 1997 is 27 years old, expect to do some minor repairs to things that have aged. The really only main thing that will cost a lot is replacing the intake manifold. The original ones had a plastic crossover for the thermostat housing and they always crack and leak coolant. Mine started to and I had to replace it. Look out for rust on these cars and front end components like the balljoints and shocks. Other than that I've just done little things here and there. They really are reliable cars, very practical too. Huge trunk and super safe. 97 was the last year of the "good" town cars as stated by many people. The 1998-2002 model years were by far the worst in reliability. Look for either a 1995-1997 or a 2003+ town car for maximum reliability.
@@WhiskersTheFish thanks so much for all that information really learned a lot I appreciate it! I’ll subscribe to your channel got some good videos. I hope you make more Lincoln town car videos. If you don’t mind me asking where did you find such a mint condition town car. And yeah I’ll definitely look out for the intake manifold and other things you mentioned 🙏💯
You think it’s worth getting the intake manifold changed out soon as I get a car or just wait till it goes bad. It’s gonna go bad anyway might as well get it done asap I feel.
@@Mrnormalsense I found my town car on facebook marketplace, It was a 1 owner car that lived in the midwest all it's life, garaged as well from what I can tell. I feel like this is one of the best platforms to find them because often there are estate sales and family members selling their grandpa's town car and stuff like that for super low prices. As for the intakes, try to look for what design it is, it may have already been replaced. The original ones are plastic all around. Look at the thermostat housing and alternator bracket areas. The original ones are completely plastic, a newer, replaced one has an aluminum thermostat housing and an aluminum alternator crossover bracket. They like to crack at about 120,000 miles but mine somehow lasted until 167,000 miles and I live in Illinois so that's even worse for it. If you find a clean town car with less than 100,000 miles I would probably wait to replace it, but if it has 120,000 to 150,000 miles and it's original I would probably just replace it instead of waiting for it to spew coolant everywhere :). Also, if you do end up buying a town car, you should change the oil at some point. I'm noting this because online and at auto parts stores they will list 5w-20 oil for the town cars. Originally these cars called for 5w-30 oil. The reason the parts stores say this is because of an emissions recall in the early 2000s, by using the thinner 5w-20 oil the town cars will get better mpg slightly. I highly recommend getting what the car originally wanted which was 5w-30. The thinner 5w-20 oil is not good for the engines, especially high mileage ones, and its more likely to cause blow-by. If you have a very high mileage town car I would even recommend going with a thicker than factory oil like 10w-40. I would never go thinner though.
UPDATE ON THE TOWN CAR: Shortly after this video the car started misfiring. It turned out that the spark plugs were original from 1997 and had 167,000 miles on them! One of the plugs had failed completely due to age. After replacing all spark plugs and spark plug wires the car drives like a dream again! There was also an increase of 4 miles per gallon to the average fuel economy. More videos to come on the town car soon!
I believe this goat is a mix of Ripped Goat, Space Goat (because the way it stands) and Tall Goat.
its actually ripped goat with the animation set of space goat
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nice!
The gold tinted glass was an option. It is supposed to defrost faster then the regular glass.
Such a beautiful czr. I am trying to buy a 97 town car right now. hope they get back to me.
The most important things to look for when buying one is the intake manifold and the rear air suspension. If the car is sagging in the back, or the pump is always on, the rear air suspension is going bad. Make sure there is no coolant or wetness around the intake manifold. Other than that, these cars are tanks. Good luck on buying one!
@@WhiskersTheFish Good to know and thank you for your reply. I am very tall and sick of making myself fit into things. I believe the town car won;t give me any issues with that.
@@danstone8783 I can assure you that you should be just fine in the town car. I'm 5"10 and I drive with the seat maxed out in the "up" position with several inches still above my head. There is an incredible amount of leg room and head room.
Great video definitely enjoyed it 😁👏
One my cartiers had a 10 disk cd changer in the trunk I loved that one
I've had 2 of these cartieres a 1996 and a 1995 I think they were great cars
Beautiful car!
How do u install it
I have bt200x 196cc I wanna use this until it breaks. So what do I need So it doesn't smoke?
If you do not want clutch issues but want to run a straight chain use a 72 tooth sprocket and a longer chain for it. The trade off is top speed.
maybe for the street! need Torque off road!!
Speed before and after ?
Should be lubricating your chain atleast once a week anyway they always rust if you dont. Rain humidity moisture keep it with nice oil clean with a rag beforehand if it's dirty with oil.
How to bypass the governor
remove the air filter
I had a 1996 Town Car Signature. I paid $500 for that car 11 years ago and now it belongs to my dad because I gave it to him and bought a 08 Crown Vic ex-cop car. That was the best $500 I ever spent on a car. It still runs well with 370k on it. It never let me down the 6 years I had it and it never let my dad down either.
If you take the air filter cap off and you take the cap off the muffler you will double your hp yes literally double so try it and let me know how fast it goes after that
When i was younger I HATED THIS THING IT SCARED ME SO BADLY
I just straight chained my Coleman and when I took it for a test drive the clutch started sparking and when I turned it off it was smoking bad
great video, just brought a 224 now I'm looking for minor performance parts to put on.
Where did you get the rear tire and what size is it ?
I got it on Amazon, it’s the same size as the original Coleman tire: 19x7x8.
Had the same setup on my bt200x with a stock 196cc and i blew it up after 2 months so now im swapping to a 212cc
Get the predator 212 racing
Or at harbor freight it's 224 max performance is on sale 159 right now
imagine living in Schaumburg, IL
What torgue did u purchase for it? Any links?
I just bought a 30 series torque converter from amazon. I'm not sure the exact one I bought, but here is one I found. www.amazon.com/Torque-Converter-Clutch-Predator-Replacement/dp/B07S3TX4C5/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2INLJVVG3MDGU&keywords=30%2Bseries%2Btorque%2Bconverter&qid=1697060931&sprefix=30%2Bseries%2Btorque%2Bconverter%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1 Keep in mind you will have to raise the engine about 1 inch if you have the same bike as me. I used 1 inch square tubing from gopowersports, but you can get square tubing from the hardware store yourself and drill holes if you want it cheaper.
U don't need to take links out the reason ur chain loosened is most likely do to the chain tensioner vibration loose just move it back towards the wheel and it'll tighten
What kind mod u got on it
I have a 22mm Mikuni carburetor, header pipe, governor delete, and a torque converter.
@@WhiskersTheFish What gearing?
@@Deucealive75 50 tooth sprocket on the back, 10 tooth sprocket on the torque converter I believe.
Get a job lil nigga
Sounds great👍
id miss the power from the torque converter. but a regular chain and clutch is best for street rides anyway
Did you ever put a 60 tooth on it if so how’s the take off?
What do I click if im doing it all on android?
Yo, could you make a tutorial on how to make the soda-can muffler?
thanks brother
No problem, glad I could help.
Sounds like shit😂
Bro my mom always gets mad at me for riding it in the streets I’m suprised ur comfortable with it and not nervous about getting a ticket do u think I’ll be fine riding in the road? The bike goes fast enough for the streets it goes about 45-50 anything I could do to make it look legal ?
Wear a full helmet, and always obey traffic laws. I’ve been pulled over 3 times. Luckily I was given warnings. Just be careful.
thanks so much i was helping my grandma upload all her photos to a usb and this setting fixed it somehow, all the old photos that were heic also uploaded somehow thank so much
Hey so I had a stock Coleman bt200x. The engine blew. I ordered a predator 212 didn’t come with a clutch. Ordered a 3/4 12 tooth clutch #35 chain. It didn’t fit. The teeth were too small to fit my chain. What clutch do I need ??? A #420 10t clutch?
Yes, the big Coleman bikes all use 420 chain. Depending on what rear sprocket you have will determine the size clutch you need. If it’s the stock 50 tooth rear sprocket it’s probably not good for a 10 tooth clutch, it will burn up pretty fast. I’d get a 60 tooth rear sprocket if you are riding anything else than street.
@@WhiskersTheFish okay so what clutch do I order for stock 50t. I don’t do hills just ride trails and hardly street . I have a 212 predator with 50t rear sprocket
Do I get the 3/4 420 chain 12t?
Also a spacer for the shaft?
If you have $50-$60 I would get a max torque brand clutch. If not, I have gotten some Ok clutches from Amazon for around $25.
20 mph is faster though
o hi again, I just tested my top speed and I got it to 54mph but there is one really bad thing. The clutch was super hot and the chain kept slipping on the sprocket. Do you know how to fix it or do you know what was wrong and thank you so much.
How many teeth are on your clutch and rear sprocket, and what size tires do you have?
@@WhiskersTheFish the clutch sprocket has 12 teeth and rear is 50 teeth. Also do I think it was smoking because of the chain because the chain was a #40 and the clutch is supposed to have a #35 cause if that’s the problem I am super dumb and wasting your time.
@@RealestateKingThe1 The chains should be the same. 40 chain is larger than 35 chain. What size tires do you have? Is your bike a large mini bike or a classic sized one?
@@WhiskersTheFish oh it is large Minibike. And tire size is 19x7. 00-8
Also it says the clutch is a 35 chain so would I need to get a 35 chain for it and if I did would it fit on my Minibike. And again thank you so much for the help without your help I would’ve been stuck.
What size nut did you use in the shaft for the clutch I bought like 10 different nuts and none fit please help.
The predators use standard size bolts, 5/16″-24 would work. Not metric. If you can’t find the exact length, go for a slightly longer bolt, you can always add washers later. Also please use a lock washer between the shaft bolt and shaft/washer. I see too many videos of bolts coming loose and things breaking.
I recommend buying bolts from your local hardware store. It’s much faster, and easier to see the bolts in person. They sell bolts for predator engines on Amazon but they are usually $6-$10 a piece and with shipping that’s ridiculous for a single bolt.
@@WhiskersTheFish do you know what size bolt you put on it looks very good. And thank you for all the help
Np, mine is a 5/16”-24 grade 8 bolt I think. Mine is a little too long, I used washers though.
@@WhiskersTheFish oh alright thank you so much this will help a lot
What size chain do you need and can u send me link to the chain that you used
The large Coleman bikes use 420 chain. This is the one I am currently using. Pro Taper 420MX Premuim Gold Series Chains - Lg. 134 a.co/d/dNVgCIw
Thank you what size is the nut you put in the shaft to lock in the clutch because I also have a predator 224 but I don’t know what nut goes in the shaft so I can keep the clutch in place.
@@WhiskersTheFishyo hi again, I just tested my top speed and I got it to 54mph but there is one really bad thing. The clutch was super hot and the chain kept slipping on the sprocket. Do you know how to fix it or do you know what was wrong and thank you so much.
What mirror did you put on yours?
Got it from amazon. The lens fell out because the vibrations from my bike broke the glue inside, so I duck-taped it. www.amazon.com/RYANGO-Adjustable-Handlebar-Rearview-Handlebars/dp/B09MH2TP65/ref=sr_1_13?hvadid=616931589040&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9021515&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15280821728380221897&hvtargid=kwd-738052173&hydadcr=24664_13611849&keywords=mirror%2Bbike&qid=1684098919&sr=8-13&th=1
So you don't have a fix for Android?
I'm not familiar with the Android operating system, so I'm not sure how to fix this problem for it.
Where did u get the motor that style is rare
Got it from Amazon like 3 years ago. It’s a motoos 66cc 2 stroke engine kit.
Good Point on the Lower CC ---Now if ya all wanna boost speed you can go small Nitrous , super easy to install , or use a E Bike Tire BOOSTER ..which connects to the back seat pole takes 60 sec to install ..you can also use a toggle switch to get in the booster ...JZP Yuma AZ
Can anyone help me out? I have a bt200x with a 224 predator i put a 10 tooth clutch and it keep smoking and gets extremely hot .. it only happens when i go slower but when i got fast it never happens
What size is your rear sprocket?
Me as well, but I have noticed that it seems as though the 224 is too powerful for these clutches and they are most of the time trying to engage even while idling.
