Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. I pay respect to the proper technique. Yesterday I did only 15 Sadharan Dand, but slow and with detail. 😊

Very rightly and very intelligently explained! Yes, many of us run behind the numbers, but the form and quality of the workout is very important too. There's not much benefit in doing an exercise until and unless the full potential of it is achieved, which one gets by proper form and technique only. I totally get you sir ji.... 🙂👍

Your said something amazing - highlighting that at times quality is better but quantity has its value too is something to remember.

Great video. In Mysuru side, they make you go fwd by an extra inch while you are in Chaturanga Dandasana. i.. when you dive down, keep moving fwd till the feet are perpendicular to ground. Most fast desi workouts the "heel" is behind the toes of the feet, like a slant / . However if the feet are like | then, it really works on your triceps and core. I never felt 1 inch of change could make such a difference.

Hahaha, that story about doing 100 push ups reminds me of what my judo coach also did. I was supposed to do an uchikomi drill with resistance bands, 50 reps on each side. I struggled through it, and feeling proud of myself, I told the coach that I finished the reps. Then he said "okay, now do 100 more on each side". I think they just do it to test whether you're going to be serious with your training, how much you REALLY want this.

not really a good idea, when a person has exhausted himself, doing such bullshit thing would lead to injury, extended periods of cramping and further decline in training efficiency

One of my past martial arts trainer (about 6 years ago, and he was not a very good coach), had us do 500 push ups every day for about 90 days when I signed up for personal training with him. He even told us to do by cheating the form so that we hit 500, as it was supposedly important because people in akhadas do it. That man had never been in an actual akhada himself, is what I later found out. I still have shoulder problems to this day, unfortunately.

Exercise is not about reps. It is about increasing your capability to do more reps by doing more reps in enjoyable way( not brutalllity with body). Follow Vidyut Jaamwal. He teaches us that listen to your body first. We do not need a personal trainer because they will train u according to their physique not according to your body.

Hahah, your demonstration of the "fast and hurried" way of doing it was still so much smoother than the people who do it that way. It's a lot more unstable and swingy when other people do it.
