Far Eastern arts have a specific origin, Yong Chun County, Fujian, China in the Ching dynasty. A total weapons ban imposed by the Manchus forced the insurgents to practice their weapon movements without the weapons and disguise them as Daoist animal frolics. This is why these practices emerged here and in very few other places. In modern times the empty handed weapons forms were reinterpreted as boxing strikes. Savate and Danmye also appeared in situations where there were restrictions on the abilities of commoners to defend themselves. Look for a documentary called "Dances with Weapons".

Thanks for the video. Great content. When I reasearch about this topic found that Hanumanti is not only about superior technique but the speed of technique application. Hanumanji faster like air. Jambavanti more related to grappling like modern jodo Or jujutsu as you mentioned. Jarasandi is more about joint locks and breaking them. Balavanthi (Bali) is kind of modern Ikido technique, which takes advantage of opponent power. As you mentioned, his story says he gets half of opponent power before fight begins. Last Bimseni uses shear power and physical size.
If you want one more topic research on "Mushtiyudha". Indian muythai. Which existed till the year 1940. I heard some last generation practitioners may available even today in kashi, Varanasi area.

Apart from the references you mentioned, the greatest Mal yuddha fight reference in that in Ramayana. It is when Ahiravan kidnaps Ramji and Laxman ji and is about to sacrifice them in front of devi. It is when Sankatmochan Hanumanji comes to the rescue of both and fights Ahiravan and defeats him Mal yuddha. And thereafter the devi blesses Hanuman with the grace that whenever Mal yuddha would be practiced he shall forever be worshipped.

Here's a proposed breakdown of Indian Martial Arts from my side:
Malla Yuddha(first Indian mixed martial arts and oldest and first mixed martial arts in the world.),
Kalaripayattu(a far distant discipline of Malla yuddha that used weapons, also known by different names in many other countries and in many other states of India.),
Mushtthi Yuddha(striking part of Malla Yuddha later known as Lethwei, Muay Thai and by other names in some states of India and in many other countries.),
Kushti(the grappling part of Malla Yudhha which later became separated from it and is now known as a popular sport in many countries by its other names and other forms and in many states of India by its other names and other forms.).
This is just an opinion from my side maybe I am wrong and maybe I am right.

Combat wrestling was a proper combat war art of unarmed combat.
Beside combat wrestling there are musti yudh ..indian ancient kick boxing.
Most other Indian martial art are weapon based like "Pari kandha", "Mardani khela", etc.
King Vali actually used the techniques of using opponent forces and power against his opponent itself.
A glimpse of something we can see in Jujitsu and judo...throws.
So people started calling that he captures half of the power of his opponent.
Due to our lack understanding of our own ancient culture whe are still confused about scriptures. The powerful tribe who used to make their kingdom within jungles rather than cities where called van-nar and then distortions made it vannar.
Similarly, the very technical things like combat description also got distorted and became fantansy.

According to my research the Burmese Boxing, Lethwei, derives from Malla Yuddha which probably influenced much of the martial arts of South East Asia along with Kalari, considering that in most cases those territories were a cultural extension of South India. (The Khmer empire is a clear example of this).
Muay Boran for example is strongly linked to Ramakien, the Thai adaptation of the Ramayana.

Is there a higher goal than to cultivate one's self to be a Civilized Spiritual Warrior of Peace and be One with the Creator?
If there is I have not yet found it and your knowledge inspires me.

Kushti is an persian (Iranian) version of wrestling which was introduced in India by the mughals which does not have any strike like punches Or kicks, whereas Mallayudha also had strikes

Thank you bhaiya ☺☺☺. And Lord krishna was not very lean there are some description about him like he was tall about 8 feet he has broad shoulder which are spherical like a mace and a broad and muscular chest his arms are so long that they touches knees his palm was expanded like a lotus. also described he has a diamond strong fist wrist arm chest. His arms was like pillar his thighs are strong as trunk of elephant his chest is like a doorway. After taking a look I think he has a perfect physique he was not shredded and ugly like today body builder he would have a 15% body fat he should have a v shape body his arms are a bigger as his finger touches knees but not as big as his leg he had a big palm like a boxer. There is a statue of bahubali(real) it's just like it. We can get an idea by looking statue. how old warrior looks like. Jai shri krishn

My G that's bs Shri Krishna was 5'10 ft. Stop believing in Nonsense from dumb ppl on internet. If he was 8 ft gravity wouldn't allow him to move very fast. He is mentioned shorter than all Pandavs they were 6ft+ Bheem was 6'5

Thanks for your explanation brother, Krishna was really super he was super intelligent super stretch super everything, Your explanation is perfect. There are so many aspects that I miss in the Mahabharata movies especially when approached from the perspective of a martial arts practitioner. I think the Mahabharata series of sadhguru is very well explained, I believe that the Mahabharata and also the Ramayana really need a remake with the best Special effects. And people like sadhguru and you should also be involved. And one should not mess with the original story by copying from another film. I think PETER JACKSON (director of the hobbit) is the best person to direct these movies
