The tulwar has been pretty effective for a LONG time.
In any case, people often don't realise a tulwar has to be handled different from certain other swords. (arm vs wrist, etc).
I have to admit I wasn't originally a fan of the tulwar, but once I learned how it was actually meant to be used, I did some rethinking..
Problem, with limited knowledge that guy had about indian Talwar,
japanese Katana didn't even face the kind of wars indian Talwar faced for thousands of years, it's stupid to say Talwar is impractical.
The mini katana guy did not say that indian talwars r impractical. He only disliked the handle.. of course he was not familiar with indian martial arts style.
@@pulkit8628😁, see iam the example of limited knowledge, I just saw his video😅.

Very true
Why Japanese sword, why Japanese karate? India is the source of martial art. India has a great legacy of ancient sages and warriors. Why Japanese karate? What everyone thinks of as Japanese karate is karate for everyone, a stupid and useless profanity. They believe it themselves. Now is the time to get back to the roots. Please turn your face, heart and mind to Indian martial art. From Moscow with love.
Why are you living in Moscow? Get some time and come back to India..
@@mansishmahakul3052 I haven't been to India. My mother has been. It was related to her work (pharmacology). She liked India. There are people in our country who practice yoga and Hare Krishnas. Vivekananda at the end of the 19th century said that the European yogi is a parody of the Indian yogi. So it is. I have developed a program of functional strength training with bodyweight 5x5 Program (5 exercises x 5 sets). Publication in J. Military Knowledge 2021-09. The closest analogue and prototype is Navy SEAL's Workout. 5x5 Program is good thing, but I like to train in the Kushti style. I'm not about red swimming trunks and oil. I'm talking about exercises. In the Western way, everything is done straight and separately, in the eastern way it is tortuous and merged. It works better.
@@igorkozlovskiy3591 Couldn’t agree more with your assessment. Talwar was a secondary weapon unlike the katana, the comparison itself is not apples to apples. It is more a wakizashi!
@@venkom I mean, karate for everyone is cheating. It makes no sense to teach everyone martial arts. Karate for everyone is not self-defense and not a path of spiritual development. It's a way to make money. Karate for everyone is based on principles that don't work. Bruce Lee called it classic gibberish. So it is. The most important thing in karate for everyone is 4 blocks. It doesn't work.
@@igorkozlovskiy3591 I was agreeing with your assessment on Karate. Not disagreeing..
AS A RAJPUT PROUD TO SEE YOU BRO ...JAI SHREE RAM❤
The talwar seems to me very similar to older Viking era swords, where the guard locks your wrist in place. Later European swords let you use a lot more wrist movement, like katana.
Oh, actually European rondel daggers are more similar! Don’t know why I didn’t think of them
No ____Talwar or Shamshir are not at all like Vikings swords but much more modern then that....talwar/shamshir
R manly weapons used to slice the whole person into two....Vikings swords r only used to stab..
@@khalsa7332 Vikings swords r only used to stab i dout!
@@killerkraut9179in a sword that "stab" is called thrust (thank me)
Sir, please read more about a Talwar. It's a weapon which sliced Bahlol Khan into two pieces along with his horse. The wielder of that talwar was Maharana Pratap. You'll see, Talwar is made for slice a person into two pieces whereas a katana is made for piercing and cutting deep into the flesh. It's just that a Katana is very popular now a days.
There was fight between japanese katana and Nepalese khukuri. In ww2 Burma, there was a fight between gorkhas and Japanese in close range. 2 gorkhas died and Idk 81 or 87 japanese died.
Nepali gorkha is always superior ❤ love from India.
Obviously they stand no chance
An unnecessary conflict, 'cause japnese came here to fight with Britishers, and in there army too some Indian soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj were present lead by Sc bose.
@@ManthanStudio-zi3ci does not change they got their ass handed.
@@ManthanStudio-zi3ci Japanese soilders were eating indian people. i dont say britishers are all good but if they never came to indian subcontinent then there would be India. The british came here and won different kingdoms and made british india . Now you might be say there was akhand bharat but there wasn't . there were 650+ kingdoms in Indian subcontinent before britishers came here . They won war against mughals, sikhs, bengal, maratha but couldn't defeat afghanistan and nepal. Its not only india who is affected Nepal have been affected too. Nepal lost 60% of its land and mostly it couldn't grow otherwise Nepal would be 10x bigger than present Nepal.
With due respect to japanese martial arts and Katana, i wanna let you know that a Talwar is known to be a Baddass in wars as compared to katanas.
One incident showcasing the real power of a talwar is when Maharana Pratap sliced Bahlol khan into two peices along with his horse. I doubt a katana can ever do that. They were made differently nd for different purposes. In ancient Indian History, Talwar is known for it's ability to chop warriors into two halves nd these incidents are well recorded as well. A talwar was a very effective weapon in a close combat. On the other hand, a katana had some similarities with the Talwar but a Katana was less flexible, was built for piercing and cutting deep into the human flesh rathar than slicing. So, according to me Talwar had an upperhand as it could do everything a Katana does but the it had the ability to slice a person or an animal into two halves. It's just that katana is more popular in the present times.
yea and talwars were very flexible(therfore hard to break by bending) and also light(supporting their one handed use)
@@DaManCave123 plus each Talwar was different than the other cze unlike a Katana you could actually modify a Talwar according to your comfort in wielding it. It was a master weapon in close combat nd if you go by authentic Indian Talwars, you can't find a weapon more trustworthy and strong as Talwar in a close combat.
ABSOLUTELY loved how you explained.
you surprised me with your skills with a tonfa that was really well done.
Katana was mostly used as a ceremonial sword . the last weapon of choice in battle. And indian talwar 😂 thousends of battles . millions of people were killed with Talwar. Its not for show just. 🤣🤣🤣We still use it in riots There is no comparison between talwar and katana. I love a katana dont get me wrong. But its just for show.
I think you guys should visit seminar conducted by Gurudev Nihang Nidar Singh. It may give you a different prespective on Indian Martial Arts and fighting system
Katana - Japanese Stays calm but katana swing
Talwar - Talwar stays Calm but indian perform deadly dance
One thing people must understand that mentality is more important than tools and ys everyone knows it but forget it while comparing.
But yes tools play an important role after having strong mentality.
Dude this is so underrated
It is interesting to note that in various traditional blade weapons the talwar like the kris, kampilan, etc. have unusual design and different maneuvers. I am not an expert in talwar or katana, but only with some knowledge of arnis. Perhaps a beginner would feel awkward if given either katana or talwar as weapon for protection - the katana requires both hands to hold while the talwar limits the tilting movements of the hand from the wrist. For a beginner it may be better to complement the talwar with a shield.
どっちも使い方の問題で、武器自体の性能はそこまで変わらないと思うんだけどね。
どっちも長く使われてきた事を考えれば、どっちも完成された刀なんじゃないかな。

Stfu and accept the fact that Japan will stand no chance against India
the katana is a great sword but its pretty useless in cavalry becuase you would much rather use like a naginate or yari , the tulwar is useless in infantry unless paired with a sheild but a killer in cavalry , I can't emphasize how well you can use the tulwar to cleave infantry if you're up on a horse.
Same has an assault rifle there are 11 kind. Big deal 😊😊
Bro you actually know they made a very good hype for katana in animes like the man standing here ________________ and the opponent gets beheaded which is very good and there are more teqniques in them but in india they never showed us the power of our Talwar they never made any type of animation or movie you :)
*_The Talwar is a Beautiful, and frankly more preferable iteration of the Scimitar, similar to the Arabic/Middle East cultures! The Katana is a Beautiful sword and I’m not knocking them whatsoever! But they’re honestly just another iteration of a sabre designed blade! They’re ideal • • • for the Japanese cultural period of the Samurai and specifically, for open land, one on one duels! Shoot, the Samurai didn’t even resort to using their Katanas first in open battles! They preferred long weapons like pole arms, spears, and naginatas over using their Katanas! The need to pull out your Katana, unless you were in their cavalry, probably meant you screwed up somewhere’s along the line!_*

Talwar is used with the force of the shoulder.
I think with the tulwar grip you sacrifice reach and delay the impact to get more power!
@@killerkraut9179 it depends on practice
@@KSBTSYSTEM I think it essential to the grip!

All martial art have their origin in india but the sad thing is we forgot all these and discarded them as old and barberic wepons while china and japan have created sustemetic sports for their martial arts thus promoting and preserving them 🙏🙏🙏
Darun darun dada.
@karate tv Bruce lee punch speed vs fastest viper strike bite speed?
Well sqid
Good explanation 👍
I respect all swords or forms of combat. They are designed to do bad stuff. Moral of the story be nice to people. Don't fight people with swords. Lol
Fair enough 🙏
Knife is use to cut vegitable and same can be used in crime that doesn't mean it is designed for bad stuff... We never attacked someone with bad intentions... Moral of the story intention matters
Talwar is a hack and chop and Katana is slash and slice based on what internet has to say. It is probably not fair to compare.
Plz tell exercise for arm wrestling
Are there Indian 2 handed swords ??
Yup
Khanda sword is the most dangerous. Thats why khatri warriors had a kill ratio 1:100 and used to defeat armies even 10 times the size. We defeated Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Huns, Turks, Mughals, Afghans...
Bhai Indian khanda bhi speed me achha hai 💪
Told me Madhu traditional weapon
Funfact :- This man lost his common sence. In olden time their hands palm were pretty big. To fit that shape. Thats why the round part which is at the end of talwar was not a problem for that people. Thats why INDIAN sword is superior. I am american HINDU and I am going back to america by guys.
Thats why INDIAN sword is superior?
If you use the tulwar grip to sacrifice reach and delay maybe the hit to get more power it is woth it?
@@killerkraut9179 Indian talwar is ment for reach, speed, power, flexibility and quick reflexes. it's possible because of wrist techniques only. you don't know the scale of Indian wars talwar faced since thousands of years. it's the most practice weapon out there. and it is supposed to be used with a shield in other hand or another talwar.
@@Yogis_BitterTruth_Nirvan But not often much succesfull wars !
With a blade you get more reach with a saber grip for example!!
@@killerkraut9179 no, the most sucessful wars were faught by Indians only in entire world history. we faced all kinds of invaders that exists in this world from thousands of years and we are still 90% in India. have mainted our existence thanks to our weapons, techniques, science, arts and skills. you know nothing even Alexander the greek couldn't enter India. there is no evidence of him stepping in India except greek one sided exagerations. stupid western enforced history.
There is major difference is Talwar always fight with "DHAL" (Shield )That's why we use only use one hand , Japanese dont use DHAL (Shield). So In real duel Talwar win easy B.cos WE defend katana strike on Dhal & They dont
Isnt that easy !
Its more complicated!
@@killerkraut9179 Yes , Using Wrist & shoulder movement

Talwar or katana you need develop good skills and need good teacher
It's all about hype and marketing, pop culture has made katana so famous that people think it's the best sword in the world. It definitely is a good sword but not the best, historically japan had very poor quality steel and that's why they had to fold their steel to get rid of impurities and increase the strength, it's water quenced which makes it brittle which has its pros and cons. Also katana wasn't even a primary weapon and was used as secondary or cremeonial weapon whereas talwar is a battle tested weapon. If u look at british/french accounts talwar was feared among the Europeans .
BRUHHH...🔥💪
i like that sgirt! thats my life cycle

To see the use of talwar see forged in fire
