Something i have noticed with lower torque bases like my lowest tier trustmaster is that is easy to turn the wheel more than needed.
In dirt rally it makes you oversteer and then demands correction to reset it,in more realistic titles it results in understeed and the loss of grip and traction.
Its a skill of course but its seems way more natural with high torques.
It reminds me of heavy loadcell vs weak spring potenciometer.I was very easy to do big changes and lock/release weight balance in a non smooth and controlled way.
Now with loadcell its so much easier to modulate braking force and keep the balance of the car and harder to brake too much and lock.
Those who say gear doesn't matter lie to themselves.
Oh gear definitely matters. But there’s a point after which you start to see diminishing returns.

use wheel with first person
