The girl that had no role in the anime that became a cult favourite character, and is better deserving of the red uniform than Lunamaria. Rumour has it that the Nami Tamaki refused to voice Shiho because every other character voiced by a singer was killed off. Due to not having any lines, Shiho was just in the background and thus survived both wars. Would have loved for there to be a proper OVA for her (but we're nearly 20 years too late).
Wonder why didn’t they cast someone else to play Shiho? Surely there’s a number of potential VAs that would suit her well enough. I’m pretty sure even people here would have a couple in mind too.

I remember finding out about Shiho's existence by randomly coming across these fanarts where she was paired off with Yzak, and no joke. For the longest time I thought she was an OC!
That and, you know, not casting singers for roles they’re not gonna be able to commit to for very long. Also by that train of thought, never cast the same singer that you killed off last season for another role that’s exactly the same as his last one.

Miguel was a skilled ZAFT pilot (even had its custom orange GINN) and was killed off in 3 episodes since the voice actor obviously couldn't work full time on Gubdam Seed. In Gundam seed destiny (the 2nd season), a guy named Heine Westenfluss shows up. Guess what? He's a ZAFT ace piloting an orange custom Gouf Ignited and is voiced by Takanori Nishikawa (again !). Needless to say, he died in about 3 episodes. So... Don't cast singers as voice actors, that's an instant kill.

Luna was the only female to wear a skirt...whitch turned into a long coat in the final plus. Riika was also a red uniform but wore a short coat red similar to the green coats

I appreciate these Gundam SEED lore videos. Gundam SEED/Destiny is one of my favorite series to reimagine. I'm currently working on a a kind of "re: vision" of both and one of my goals is character expansions by either getting them more directly involved in the plot or the creation of OCs. Shiho definitely deserved a bigger role in the story and I'm definitely gonna try to integrate her more in my reimagining. This video helped remind me of here current stance int he series and it'll help me decide where to start bringing her in, so thanks again!

I know of Shiho through Super Robots Taisen W, along with the other Astray units and pilots like the Sword Calamity, the dagger unit with the gunbarrel etc. I admit she puts her duty before her feelings for Yzak is commendable. Her Cgue deep arms is one of my few SEED MS favourites. I sure wish they go deep into her lore.

Unlike Orb and EAF uniforms are monotonous and standard (although EAF recruit uniforms comes in blue and pink to designate gender). Wishing there was s lore about the origin of ZAFT Redcoats.
That's because ZAFT was always founded as a voluntary militia, with unofficial rank structure. Another note is green coats for the earth members were black and cut off..and it always seemed like they were considered second class to the space zaft (with the desert tiger being the exception)
Orb and EA adhere to traditional military structures of old. With clear, regimented and hierarchical lines between soldiers. ZAFT on the others hand are made up off coordinator volunteers who encourage free thinking and individualism on the battlefield. This is reflected in their uniforms being less standardized.
It did annoy me about them having their Elitism though. Oh I'm sorry what's that your a Red Coat and that makes you special in what way Yzak? Cause from where I'm standing I just heard Miguel point out to Athrun you guys had no mobile suits after returning with your stolen G Weapons. Meaning you FRESH graduates don't even have your own assigned mobile suits yet so your rank means squat. And then Miguel goes and claims Coordinator superiority only to decide, since he had no idea Kira was piloting at the time, that instead of allowing a "filthy Natural" best him in combat he's gonna bail from his borrowed GINN and have it self destruct while he's safely runaway like a coward. Yep pure superior skills and tactics right there in the first few episodes.

Kira is a true Coordinator, not a natural, and so he's expected to win against other coordinator like Miguel. He is still correct. Coordinators are superior to natural, but Kita is not a natural.

In my school vr game shino harnesfust and her deep arms where in ultra space and the deep arms went into the ultra water system and it came out the same but there’s a difference 1 she is now part ultra beast 2 her deep arm super overheating is now completely thrown out of the window and finally doc mikhail coast was in trouble sense in the game he was her bully but after the dunking she was a lot better and heck she even befriended goalius and he upgraded her mobile suit to the deep arms custom
Shiho would've been voiced by Kelly Sheridan in the English dub EASY if she had spoken lines...pretty sure Kelly even dubs her in at least one SEED game (English VA for sango for reference)
I can’t be the only one to notice that the beam cannon placement on the CGUE DEEP Arms kinda looks like the null rays on Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp/all the other Seekers in various Transformers series.

True, the BuCue head does cut through mobile suits pretty well. Too well actually, which is why Lowe opts for physical blades over beam sabers in order to control how much damage he inflicts; plus beam sabers draw a lot of energy and more energy saved is more beam rifle shots available. In any case, Shiho might not live if her suit got hit by a beam saber; either that or the damage dealt to her suit would’ve been too costly to repair which would leave her without her signature mech and she’d end up like Miguel.
Well one thing that Shiho appearance has done is she provided a character for fanfic writer a heterosexual pairing for Yzak. As before this is eitier gay with Deakea or invent their own mary sue/OC. or some weird pairing with Flay

Correction- Shiho left the military after the war was over but was called back for the war of "Independence on united states of south America" where *she used the dated deep arms one final time* with zaft assisting independent faction telling EA to back off. All of this took place in the manga Destiny Astray
@Kakarot197 Here's what I don't get about the CGUE Deep Arms: it's built to test OMNI Enforcer beam rifle tech recovered from the G-Project MS...**even though** ZAFT already built (or at least fielded) MS-scale beam cannons of their own **first**. Sooooo, what was the point, again? I'm not sure you can even argue it was in pursuit of miniaturization; discounting the GUAIZ (or the Test Type version preceding Freedom/Justice), the succeeding Regenerate and Providence Gundams each pack a huge-ass gun just like the earlier anti-fortress beam cannon used by GINNs. If the Deep Arms was testing an earlier variant of Freedom's plasma cannons, ok, that'd make more sense, but it's explicitly testing beam guns; honestly, this sounds more like something the Principality of Zeon would have built.
They were fun...but the shows themselves were rather baseless at times....cosmic era is known for being fleashed out the most out of any gundam AU largely thanks to side material and astray

Man, those are really well done lore videos and SEED definitely has some interesting stuff despite it being not well liked. Speaking of which, I bought Never Ending Tomorrow a few years ago and it DID feel like a discount Encounters in Space. At least I learned about the Astray stuff thanks to that so something good came out of it I guess.
"not well liked" actually, belive it or not, seed still remains one of the most popular gundam series that exists. dont take the vocal hate it gets as proof. there's a reason why gundam build fighters went with a strike for its main machine. also, even with all its faults, seed destiny is incredibly beloved all over asia to the point of competing with the UC stuff for most sales. there's a reason why seed is considered the savior of gundam...

I think Blaze pack is her most likely choice... I don't see any ace choice Gunner pack(except of Lunamaria which Ironic Considering she had bad aim) if some ace pilot than fitting to use Gunner probably Dearka but his choice was Blaze (which make his experience of piloted Buster being wasted)

Idk how she got her red uniform, but aside from snipers, suckers usually end up with ranged support duty in mobile suit battles, so... Pretty much. GBO2’s OST is composed of practically every soundtrack shared across several older Gundam games that managed to make it here to the west (save for Crossfire). I think the only music tracks that are actually original to GBO2 are the title, base camp + seasonal variants (aside from New Years), and a couple of menu themes. Everything else: Rise From The Ashes, Zeonic Front, and the english localization of the Seed MSV theme. Of course it’s hard to hear them most of the time over the sounds of gunfire, bazooka shots, support fire warnings, and that ridiculously cartoony “THWACK!” sound all the melee weapons make when they hit something with a down-swing.
They're the universes with the most lore to work with. I might be wrong but I think all the other AU lore outside the shows could fit into a single video

I can’t be the only one to notice that the beam cannon placement on the CGUE DEEP Arms kinda looks like the null rays on Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp/all the other Seekers in various Transformers series.

True, the BuCue head does cut through mobile suits pretty well. Too well actually, which is why Lowe opts for physical blades over beam sabers in order to control how much damage he inflicts; plus beam sabers draw a lot of energy and more energy saved is more beam rifle shots available.
In any case, Shiho might not live if her suit got hit by a beam saber; either that or the damage dealt to her suit would’ve been too costly to repair which would leave her without her signature mech and she’d end up like Miguel.

@Kakarot197 Here's what I don't get about the CGUE Deep Arms: it's built to test OMNI Enforcer beam rifle tech recovered from the G-Project MS...**even though** ZAFT already built (or at least fielded) MS-scale beam cannons of their own **first**. Sooooo, what was the point, again?
I'm not sure you can even argue it was in pursuit of miniaturization; discounting the GUAIZ (or the Test Type version preceding Freedom/Justice), the succeeding Regenerate and Providence Gundams each pack a huge-ass gun just like the earlier anti-fortress beam cannon used by GINNs. If the Deep Arms was testing an earlier variant of Freedom's plasma cannons, ok, that'd make more sense, but it's explicitly testing beam guns; honestly, this sounds more like something the Principality of Zeon would have built.
Man, Seed and Destiny must've been weird and wild times. (Somone who got into Gundam during 00)
They were fun...but the shows themselves were rather baseless at times....cosmic era is known for being fleashed out the most out of any gundam AU largely thanks to side material and astray

Man, those are really well done lore videos and SEED definitely has some interesting stuff despite it being not well liked. Speaking of which, I bought Never Ending Tomorrow a few years ago and it DID feel like a discount Encounters in Space. At least I learned about the Astray stuff thanks to that so something good came out of it I guess.
"not well liked" actually, belive it or not, seed still remains one of the most popular gundam series that exists. dont take the vocal hate it gets as proof. there's a reason why gundam build fighters went with a strike for its main machine. also, even with all its faults, seed destiny is incredibly beloved all over asia to the point of competing with the UC stuff for most sales. there's a reason why seed is considered the savior of gundam...

I got Mobile suit Gundam seed the never ending tomorrow it wasn't that bad of a video game though I could see how they tried to recreate and what they did in Mobile suit Gundam encounters in space for the PlayStation 2 which is also a great game

In the second to last stage, there was a blue cgue with a fully revealed female pilot face but doesnt have voice if i remember correctly. I wonder who is that girl? I think Blaze pack is her most likely choice... I don't see any ace choice Gunner pack(except of Lunamaria which Ironic Considering she had bad aim) if some ace pilot than fitting to use Gunner probably Dearka but his choice was Blaze (which make his experience of piloted Buster being wasted)

Pretty much. GBO2’s OST is composed of practically every soundtrack shared across several older Gundam games that managed to make it here to the west (save for Crossfire). I think the only music tracks that are actually original to GBO2 are the title, base camp + seasonal variants (aside from New Years), and a couple of menu themes.
Everything else: Rise From The Ashes, Zeonic Front, and the english localization of the Seed MSV theme. Of course it’s hard to hear them most of the time over the sounds of gunfire, bazooka shots, support fire warnings, and that ridiculously cartoony “THWACK!” sound all the melee weapons make when they hit something with a down-swing.
