Today I’m going to be sharing with you how to make the best flaky beef empanadas seriously super delicious! The dough is just perfect and the ground beef is so flavorful, hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!

Don’t want to fry them? No problem, brush each empanada with olive oil and bake for 20-22 minutes at 400 degrees
Refrigerate for at least one hour
Ingredients: 20-22 empanadas
Empanada dough
3 3/4 c AP flour
12 tbsp cold butter
1 tbsp sugar
Salt I’m using 1 1/2 tsp
Ground Beef Stuffing:
2 lbs lean ground beef
2 small bell peppers (chopped)
1 Anaheim pepper (chopped)
1 small onion (chopped)
4 minced garlic cloves
2 tsp Mexican oregano
2 tsp thyme
2 tsp parsley
2 tsp basil
2 tsp paprika
1-2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
Salt I’m using 2 tsp
🧀 your favorite melting cheese, I’m using medium cheddar, Monterey Jack and Oaxaca cheese
1 serving of love 💕

Every recipe I have tried so far has been really good, no complaints on anything!
I do have a suggestion though for those that make their own pastry dough, put butter in freezer ahead of time and then grate, makes it so much easier to incorporate into the flour if you're not using a food processor.

Grated butter works the best every time. Just freeze it and grate away!

I made dozens of these and bring some out of the freezer every Friday night and cook in the air fryer. They are ABSOLUTELY delicious. Thank you.
Do you freeze them uncooked?
@@sukiofficial3012 yes I freeze them uncooked. The meat sauce filling is cooked but not the pastry. I don’t wait for them to thaw .I egg wash them frozen and place them straight into the oven to cook.

That’s how we make our empanadas in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 but we add chopped green olives with pimentos in the meat mixture. Those empanadas look delicious.
I made this for my hubby and I and they came out delicious! Thanks for the recipe! I only fried half of them so now I have a stash in the freezer to pull out on days when I’m too busy with my newborn :)
For anyone going through different UA-cam channels trying to figure out which recipe they should choose… CHOOSE THIS ONE! I didn’t have the veggies to make the beef empanadas, so I just made Tinga de pollo and used that as my filling with claudias dough recipe. I also made just some plain chicken and Monterey Jack cheese empanadas for my babies. I also used the juice of the Tinga as my dipping sauce. And served with rice and lechuga. These empanadas were the star of the show
You don’t need the veggies. I’ve made plain beef you can even just add onions. The veggies is pretty much to make the sofrito but you don’t necessarily need it

It’s super easy, don’t ever feel intimidated in the kitchen 😉mi mom always told me echando a perder se aprende and well that’s how i learned, and lets say I’m here to make it easy, i learned with my moms measurements and instructions and lets just say it wasn’t easy 😅

After watching this video multiple times, and multiple empanadas with store bought dough, we finally made the dough homemade!! We put them in the oven and brushed with egg wash. It came out flaky and butter. Super delicious!! If only I could attach a photo. Thanks Claudia ❤ gonna try the one in the stand mixer next time.

I made these just as Claudia demonstrated and they were fantastic! My son and hubby don't like cumin and we were delighted to see this didn't have it in the recipe. The flavors were so good! The only change I made was using Goya puff pastry empanada discs. I have used them in the past and always get some to have on hand. Also, I made them in the air fryer instead of deep frying them. I used 1 egg and 1 Tbs water to brush over the tops, then put 3 in the (preheated to 340 F)airfryer for 9 minutes. SUPER DELICIOUS! Thanks Claudia, we can't wait to try more of your recipes!
I've made these empanadas 4 or 5 times now and they're always delicious, I even double the recipe and freeze them for later! Any chance we could get a follow up recipe with a chicken filling or other things we could fill them with? Thank you!

I grew up eating all kinds of corn flour empanadas and just last year tasted the flour empanadas with chimichurri sauce they were amazing and wonder how they were made …thank you very much now I just need the chimichurri recepie 😉

Thanks for sharing Claudia! Gotta make some for the office colleagues to share. Here in Singapore we call ours curry puffs. Made similarly, the filling is usually, potatoes, ground beef, chicken, spiced up with curry powder and cilantro leaves. A favourite for snack or tea.

Hi Claudia. All your dishes look amazing. I notice you use a normal flat spatula for meat. I came across a thing called a meat chopper bought most stores and online. It makes browning meat so much easier also making cake batter, mashed taters and so many uses. I highly recommend trying one. Bought one for my step mom and that coming Christmas she bought every aunt one. It's seriously best kitchen tool ever invented

Claudia, this is one of the easiest flour fried empanadas! I can't wait to try it. It reminds me of an Argentinan Empanada of Choclo that is with a corn, cheese, and perhaps some form of herb? I can't remember exactly as we ate them in the city of Veracruz, Ver Mexico, where I grew up. David Siles, owner of the local soccer team, Los Tiburones at the time, also had a few restaurants with basic meats and street foods from his homeland of Argentina. These look as if you made them for his business! This is just how professional and presentable the appear. Congratulations on your cooking show here. It is one of my new favorites. Your voice and steps you take in the methods you use to show us is soft and flowing and just draws one in. I will try this recipe asap! Thanks for the effort and time to show us what you know.
