I usually make them with Goya disc’s , but this dough looks very easy to make and I enjoy preparing food from scratch, so I will give it a try😊

Hi! I want to make the dough and store the discs for later use. Do you know where can I get something to separate them so they wont stick together when stacked and stored away? Like a plastic film sheets to put in between or something?

Walmart sells "Durable Paper Squares" 100 per pack. They are non-stick. I buy food in bulk, and I use them to separate lots of foods that I don't want sticking together. They are wonderful!
@@1nanahouse Thank you! 😊 I did look up Walmart on-line and in-store, but only found a few options on-line that were too big for the discs, they were more for deli (wrapping sandwiches and such). But, I will look again now that you mentioned these square ones.

After kneaded the dough very very soft and during put the filling the rest dough very oily.

Wanna jiranantana, control adding water and if it’s your dough really soft little by little add more flour until you get the right texture.
Noted with thanks for your advised. The final result of this time after baked is crispy just some piece was cracked. Anyway, I will try it again.

I tried it but I think I overwork the dough and rolled it too thin. It doesnt taste bad but its a little hard and not flaky. Does overworking the dough make the empanadas less flaky? 😢 if yes i will want to try again 😅
Don't over work and try to keep the butter cold. If you can rice your cold butter into the flour and rest in fridge you can get a really nice puffy flaky dough

My advice for people would be to rice your butter when its really cold and rest the dough in the fridge (aka keep butter cold) you'll get a cheater puff pastry effect that's so good

Your discs are too thick and too small in diameter. Empanada dough should be about 1/8" x 5" for the best results. Your dough recipe is OK, but you don't need both oil and butter . . . on or the other is sufficient.

Vie cilic, Yes 7 tbsp of water I’m not show everything in the video the way I put the water because I don’t want my video more longer I cut some of it. Just gradually add the water it still wet add flour when it’s dry add a little bit of water
