Heat oil. Raw tortillas Rotisserie cicken Cream cheese. Schmear cream cheese across tortilla. Add shredded chicken. Roll. Fry. Dip in what you love. Devour.
@suzettefaircloth5037 Before. Put some cream cheese across the middle of the tortilla. Then some chicken. Roll it into a little flauta or taquito. Fry in oil, turning so cooked on all sides.
I suffered a brain injury and lost my ability to cook and had to learn all over. Im hunting for simple but delicious dishes to make. I really really appreciate these recipes. Thank you!
I'm 79 yo and I can remember as a young child, i watched my mother hang wall paper with flour and water paste. I've used it for sealing egg rolls, too.
My grandmother showed me how to make a flour-and-water paste to glue pictures of girls (which I cut from newspaper advertisements for our local department store) onto cardboard (either a cereal box or cardboard from a new shirt; I used both for projects) to make paper dolls. My grandmother had learned the same some 55 or 60 years earlier.
There's only one thing that I would change/add... I would season the paste that you use to seal the flautas. Salt, pepper, garlic (SPG) is what I'd use. It adds another layer of flavor.
Angelica I know that I already left you 1 comment!!! But I also wanted you to know that you are an Amazing Person!!! Thank you so very much for sharing all the recipes that you do!!! I Truly Appreciate you!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Don't laugh please, but I use beer and corn starch to seal my flautas, fried tacos, papusas, and even my egg rolls. I also often season the paste a tiny bit with salt or bullion powder, black pepper, garlic and/or onion powder, chili powder, cumin, whatever seems to fit the dish. I dip the whole flauta in this thin slurry, drip off excess, and then deep fry. I'm a crazy Texas girl, so cooking TexMex is in my blood and breaking the rules comes naturally. Love your content and (now, finally) subscribed on all my accounts. You are a Treasure! Thank you Angelica.
I'm 70. Flour white. From 6 yrs old when Mexican food wasn't a thing, and i grew up near Pasadena Calif. Like 1962. ....I would beg to make tacos, or roll up a hot dog in a corn tortilla stick a toothpick in it fry it and boom. Make a line of mustard.. A taco dog. I still make these. I begged my mom for canned tamales and enchiladas. That is the extent of what was available. Long story short , I have taught myself how to cook Mexican. And lots of my Mexican friends say...how come you cook better than us??? Maybe I like to eat good food. Yep. I cook so much mex......more than what you would call just american food. In fact I just bought Thanksgiving food, but bought tamale ingredients to make if I have time. BUT YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME SEVERAL THINGS TODAY!!! Thank you!!! Oil on tortillas in the microwave. I've only steamed them and then have to hold while frying... paste. Oh my gosh. So simple!!! Ok...gotta finish watching . Hugs. You would be surprised how connected I am to the Mexican people and that food. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD. And I watch you but never have commented. Sorry. Hugs..and happy Thanksgiving.
I’ve made chicken taquitos for years. Sauté a chipped onion and add to a rotisserie chicken, add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and add to warmed tortillas. Roll and fry.
That freezer trick is great for lumpia, dumplings and pierogies too! Another added trick especially with lumpia is to use parchment paper in between if you have multiple layers in your freezer bags!
Great video I like the options you offer, from softening the tortillas in the microwave or on a griddle, to shallow frying or baking the flautas, the consume salsa, to freezing some flautas before cooking for future meals. Plus your flour slurry glue trick.
I am turning 80 this month and gluten free and I will try them today. I have been doing my corn tortillas all wrong. Than you so much for that salsa recipe also.
Angelica Thank you so very much for showing me how to freeze them and make them!!! I really appreciate that since I live alone!!! It's harder to cook for one thanbit is for a Family!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Thank you so much for the flour paste/glue idea. It works brilliantly. And talk about a budget buster for a quick supper - this one is perfect. None of us needs to eat meat every meal.
Thank you! I recently discovered “street taco” (mini) tortillas and was looking for a fun way to use them. Tiny flautas! Less oil + smaller pan is a plus, and I’m excited to try the glue!
I made the potato flautas tonight. I added diced onion in them. Fabulous! I baked them which was good but I’ll deep fry them next time. The clincher was that my son-in-law loved them. I forgot about the flour paste but I won’t forget next time. So yummy! Thanks.
My niece's teenagers are in the 'make dinner' rotation and frequently resort to Hamburger helper type meals. This is a very simple, economical and fast meal or snack recipe for them! I'm sure they'd be happy to try it.
One never stops learning, I learn new way to seal them, and in the OVEN FANTASTIC , how to freeze them OMG I am so excited to have seen this .THANKU great cook.
Can I just say I have always struggled with how to keep a taquito tortilla from cracking/tearing and also how to keep them together without toothpicks. I have been cooking since I was a kid with my Mickey Mouse Cookbook in the 80's. I am 54 now. Your method fixed both of my issues and today was the first time I was able to do it successfully. Thank you Thank you thank you
So glad I came across this video video. I love it we make these taquitos all the time but we use chicken, green chilies, green onions and a little shredded cheese and add mashed potatoes at times. They’re such a pain in the butt now I know how to glue them thank you thank you.❤
They look yummy, and they’re quick! You might try queso flautas! Those are super easy! Just replace the mash potatoes with a piece of queso and fry it, they’re delicious with a sopa de conchas!! It’s kinda like a mozzarella stick but better!
Thanks for posting! I'm a man that is not a good cook to say the least. I once caught my house on fire trying to cook. I can make pretty good squirrel on stick over a fire, I think I will try this one 😊 much love ❤️ 🙏
Hi, I am a new subscriber! Just the other day my husband was telling me he felt like eating flautas, but he didn’t know how to make them (my husband is the cook of the family). I am fully awake and it’s 1:21am. I was surfing through UA-cam and came upon your channel. I saw flautas and said to myself you need to watch this! I did and I am glad that I did. My husband is sleeping soundly so I will share your channel with him tomorrow! Your flautas look delicious 😋!! Yummy!
I always get two-three+ meals from a chicken. First is obviously as chicken, second i shred every last bit of meat i can get from the bones(minus the icky ones, but save those) and make flautas or something similar or a pot pie, third i use the bones and last bits of meat to make a broth/soup with leftover veggie scraps as well, toss in some rice/noodles
You are just a cooking genius for us quick, simple, delicious wanna be cooks !!! Thank you for always sharing your recipes and making us believe we are able to replicate the process !!
Thank you for the tip, about heating up the tortillas with oil,I have a spray bottle so next time all prep the tortillas like that. I enjoy listening to you Thank you again.
I m 71 and My mexican husband Will love these 3 recipes. He loves flautas but he Will see the Big diference. I m new, thank You God to having guided me to your channel. You are beautiful in all ways. I m from Quebec and married and living in Nayarit since 2005. 🍽️❤️🌹
I love your easy recipes because honestly I am tired most of the time so cooking easy and quick once in a while helps. and the taste is never disappointing ❤
I've watched a lot of your videos and I've made at least six of them to great success but this one was a game changer for me! It's sooooo easy and I think I've made it even easier. I hate the smell of oil that's left in the house after frying so I used a little more oil when preparing the tortillas and then I cooked them in the air fryer and - it worked! AMAZING! Thanks so much for all of the variations as well. The green salsa recipe is a bonus but I'm going to stick with lazy at least for now and use store bought. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your recipe. Wow, one of my favorite dishes. At 76 years young, I finally found a great flauta recipe. I’ll be making your delicious flauta’s and sauce a lot. Love the paste to seal instead of tooth picks.
One of my favorite after school snacks when I was growing up was taquitos and guacamole but I never knew that I would learn how to make them! My mom used to buy them in a huge case at our local butcher. Thank you so much for this video! I will definitely be trying this! I'm so excited now😂
You are my favorite person to watch to cook 🤷🏻♀️ my mom was the Best Cook ever she forgot to teach the Baby , ME To cook lol RIH MOM ❤️ your channel is #1 for Me love you Simply Mama
Brilliant flour paste. . . I have never, 50 years of never been able to keep the tortillas closed! Plus, who doesn't want an extra crunch? Can't wait to try it!
Right? Me trying to explain how make my recipes to my adult daughter but have never used proper measurements other than pinch or handful or splash or “about to here” measurements 😂
Thank you so much for this. Especially for the idea for the flour paste( instead of tooth picks. ). I’m cooking more and more of my meals at home now and I absolutely love taquitos
This video is the first of yours that I watched, and because of how well you explain everything I have subscribed to your channel. In addition, you have a lovely voice to listen to. I have watched a couple of your other video compilations to see if I could find a beef flautas recipe, but I couldn't find one. Could you please consider making a video with beef flautas? My curious to know what cut or kind of beef you use and what seasoning you use. Thanks.
Heat oil.
Raw tortillas
Rotisserie cicken
Cream cheese.
Schmear cream cheese across tortilla. Add shredded chicken. Roll. Fry.
Dip in what you love.
Devour.
You can dip them in red or green enchilada sauce to make them pliable and add flavor.
👍👍👍
Love the freeze in a layer first rhen store in zip lock bag.
Do you put cream cheese on before heating the tortilla or after? If it's before then do you only heat one side of the tortilla?
@suzettefaircloth5037 Before. Put some cream cheese across the middle of the tortilla. Then some chicken. Roll it into a little flauta or taquito. Fry in oil, turning so cooked on all sides.
Geez, I'm 75 & just now learned to make a quick flauta! Thank you!!!!
I'm 65 & have never made any but these look easy enough.😊

I suffered a brain injury and lost my ability to cook and had to learn all over. Im hunting for simple but delicious dishes to make. I really really appreciate these recipes. Thank you!

My Korean Mom taught us 2 use cooked rice 2 glue our homework projects. 1960's. I miss u mom!❤
Flour & Water IS Paste!! We used that formula in Grade School!!🙌🙌💓😅😅👍👍
I take apart my rotisserie chicken when it is slightly still warm and it is much easier and less waste shredded in a bowl in the fridge ready to use!
I like the flour/water glue trick! And the freeze prep trick!

OMG, my ex-wife use to make potato tacos that were awesome. I am definitely going to try my hand at making flautas.

Thank you so much, like the person before me, I’m 77 & had no idea on how to make these wonderful little marvels of goodness, again Thank you.
I’ve made chicken taquitos for years. Sauté a chipped onion and add to a rotisserie chicken, add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and add to warmed tortillas. Roll and fry.
I’ll try these, thank you !

Can you PLZ share your lumpia recipe?
Yum! Just potatoes in a crisp tortilla! YES!
