Come to think of it, if Luigi didn’t take Polterpup in Luigi wouldn’t even be able to beat Luigi’s Mansion 3 because he’s drown in the pipe works/sewers, smashed into a big painting in the finale and even die to fall damage when the hotel collapses.
We do see that the hotel itself is wider then the rooms though. Like castle mcfrights only shows it's explorable area layout. Not it's seating place for the arena for example.
Also you should do more of this. I miss when game theory was actually about making silly video game calculations and not stringing together a theory based of shoestring sized "clues".

Honestly, I never expected to find a video that explains the insanity structure of the hotel. Very well detailed I might add. This was a very interesting video, congrats. The heaviest floor that I accounted was obviously spectral catch but tomb suite was something I didn't think about. Anyways tldr, thanks for the video I'm glad I got recommended

I said it in the video but no joke, after I calculated the one floor of the sand tombs I was like “no way this is real, this room is so big that it doesn’t make sense” and yet it did somehow
The sad thing is that king boo didn’t even have to do any of this. If he had just put Luigi in his painting while he was sleeping like he did for Mario, peach and the toads then he would’ve won instantly. The only reason he lost was because he felt the need to give his big dramatic speech
Idk if it was while they were sleeping, if you enter their hotel rooms there were signs of a struggle (Peach's parasol is bent, Mario's room being an overall mess). Also Peach's screaming woke Luigi up.

I think only the first 3 floors are actually part of the hotel and the rest are the "spirit" of locations related to the guests.

It probably would’ve helped to extract some of the models and maps from the game in order to get accurate size measurements in relation to Luigi
