By far one of the best engines ever made, 4 cylinder turbo with massive torque down low, 0-100 mph in 8.3 seconds (draggy proof). You have to experience it to believe it. Problem is once you buy one there is nothing else you want to buy.

I borrowed a Cayman base w/ sport chrono package last time I was in LA and can attest that it is PERFECT in the canyons and does quite well in traffic. Actually more comfortable and more fun to drive than the 911 991.2 I drove a couple years ago. I actually liked the 718 engine a little more than a 981 I've driven. Just feels more responsive and quicker although both are pretty slow until 3rd or 4th gear. The Cayman is the only car I want! (because I can only have one car lol)
Look at for on sale 718's. They have miles on them unlike 911's. Those guys won't run the in the rain(?!). I do not own a Porsche, but after going to Barber PTX, I imagine the cars saying, "beat me, whip me". Metaphoric, but true none the less. The 911 guys treat their cars like rare Hummel's, and God forbid they get a stone chip or rain spots. Unless you own a Carrera GT, 918 Spyder or 911R, It's not an investment. I saw an ad for a 996 Carrera 4S that said in its copy, "investment grade". What a crock. DRIVE THE DAMN THING1 Many thanks.
As an owner of a 997.2 4S I disagree. I feel like most Porsche owners actually rip their cars and don’t worry about them. Many 911 owners were once cayman/Boxster owners myself included though. I have 116k miles on my car and it’s been in the snow rain, and driven hard many miles. That being said if people don’t drive them it’s a shame.
I tried a few times and that's the best time I could get, BUT we found out after the shoot that I didn't have the "juice" turned up all the way. I'll have to try again.
Do you ever feel like you want the NA F6 motors? I'm contemplating between a 718 S to mod or go for a 981 S ( balls out would be 981 gt4). Think I'd be perfectly happy with a modded 718

Thanks! I actually borrowed the car for the video. It’s not mine. So I don’t really know the answer to your questions. I did learn after making the video that the “juice” wasn’t turned up all the way on the settings. My mistake. I hope to featuring a new modified cayman soon in an upcoming video.
Unlikely considering she bought them for me as a present. 😀 I'm old fashioned and she loves it. My grandfather wore driving gloves, and now so do I. I also wear an analog watch.🤷

@@Shulcyostock 718S is 13sec faster than previous 981GTS on Norschelife and just 2sec slower than 981 GT4 (on Cup2, S on Pirelli and narrower). You have no idea and especially on tight roads its much faster than NA cars, even faster than GT3 as powerband is much better from low rpm.
The so called "midlife crisis" for men would be at late teens crisis if young men would have enough money then to buy expensive toys at younger age. There's no such thing like midlife crisis. Men will be always men and like their toys.
