Asking whether to sell a ZX-14R is like living on the north beach of Oahu and wondering if you should move. But if you’ve got enough disposable income to experiment, make yourself happy. You can always buy another one when you realize your mistake… 😉 Also, I can save you some money. With all that torque down low, you don’t have to cruise in 3rd gear on neighborhood roads. For all the things the -14 does well, it’s ALSO a touring bike. So as long as your tach is above 2K, the engine won’t lug and your mileage goes considerably higher…mine did. Ride safe!!
Yeah, it was just time to move on to something different. I don't know that I will ever find a bike that I am so happy with, that I keep it forever... My record is 14 months... Most don't even make it 12...
Sold my second ZX14 this last summer. Went and got a 2024 MT-10 in Dec and now I'm buying a 2024 ZX14. I just love those bikes and even though the MT is amazing it is there is just something about a 14. Now I need to decide if I want to keep the MT and have two bikes or sell it.
They are both amazing bikes in different ways. It's a hard choice, but now that I have the C8, I don't need two sportbikes... I want to free up some space in the garage for the Yamaha, the Ducati and then maybe put the Vette in there...
@SquireSCA get that .. 100% I've got a 2023 C8 and that was part of why I sold the 14 over the summer. Unfortunately (for my wallet) a few of my good buddies decided they wanted to get back into riding after being ho hum about it from the past few years and I like it too much not to join in. Lol
the ZX-14 is a nice bike, but it's pathetic how Kawasaki has blatantly neglected the bike. If I were you, I'd skip and go straight to the H2 lineup the like SX or ZH2. I had a MT10 and it was a nice bike, but I wasn't totally impressed with it compared to some of the stuff I've tried so far. I sold my MT10 and jumped into a Aprilia Tuono V4 instead. Best decision I've made.
@@DeltaElite121 I'd be happy if Kawasaki stripped everything out of the bike except the ABS. Cruise control, shift assist, panniers and heated grips would be nice options, but all I really need is a solid engine with two clocks, a closed-loop DFI with a heated O2 sensor (to which I could add an A/F-XiED) and a real throttle cable. Everything else is just something to fail, sooner or later.
All they need to do is upgrade the dash to digital that way you can see the miles per hour clear and add a bunch of different colors to your options when you order the bike
Honestly, I would want to see a new TFT dash, better electronics and a quickshifter with autoblip... It's electronics package is at least 10 years old and archaic by today's standards...
If I don't use I sell it. Only me but I have had some great vehicles that would today have made me a fortune but I can't see things sit. When's the Vet going on a track day?
I am gonna sign ups for the Ron Fellows Corvette racing school out in Vegas later this year. Will get to spend 2 days thrashing THEIR car on track. :-)
Oh, and riding without talking is not a bad thing. Don't think you have to stop the video just because you don't have anything else to talk about. Just record the rest of the ride (if you want), and there are people who like that, actually. A sort of motorcycle ASMR portion of the video. 😁 I just saw a video of someone riding their bike at 3 AM, no talking, and people loved it in the comments. 🤷♂️
Nah, bikes are meant to be ridden... can't have one and just let it sit in storage in the hopes that one day it might be worth as much or more than it is today. Already sold it.
As above, if it's not being used then it's pointless having it sit around gathering dust, I'm down to one bike now, but it's up to you.... Oh if your doing a drive video this weekend and you want questions, how about trump loosing the court case and having to pay out $83 million to that woman...if he has no choice to pay, will it come from his many supporters..???
It's an awesome bike. But I get bored, and I wanted to go down to one bike now that I have the Corvette, so I sold the 14 and the MT10 and got a Ducati... I have had 35 motorycles... 34 of them since 2006, so this isn't anything new. 🙂
@@quadkrazykeith Its a fantastic bike. I enjoyed it on the street and track. But I spend a lot of time in the car now, so 2 bikes didn't make sense. And then I figured, if I am gonna do down to having only one bike, I wanted another Ducati.
@@Daves_Man_Cave I think dual sports are safer in certain ways: if a car swerves into your lane, or you have to swerve suddenly to avoid an object, you can quickly jump in the grass and still be totally fine. Dual sports are versatile. 😉 I don't ride but I was really thinking about it some years ago, and my first bike was going to be a dual sport. 👍
@SquireSCA I figured it wouldn't be available. I just bought a FJR1300 today for a steal, not really what I'm looking for so I'll clean it up and sell it. I see a handful of zx14's for sale but it seems like they're hard to find? Any suggestions where to look?
@SquireSCA I live in a tiny remote town in Utah. It's a riders paradise, people visit here from all over the place. Highway 12 goes from Torrey to Bryce Canyon and I'm in the middle, Escalante. I've mostly ridden dirtbikes but I'll be 62 in a couple weeks so no more motocross for these old knees. I've always loved the ZX14 though so maybe I'll get one for my birthday! I'd love to find a clean used bike if possible.
