  • Hiking/Backpacking the New England Scenic Trail, Mattabesett Trail sections 1-4. The trail is a beautiful trail with it's own particular set of Connecticut like challenges. Full of mountain laurel in bloom and well flowing streams, June may well be the perfect time to see the Mattabesett Trail.

Wow, what a fantastic trail...and through some beautiful country for sure! Ah yes, breakfast of champions...Otis would be drooling all over me :-) Guess one has to be prepared for every kind of weather. Looks like there was a lot of peace and quiet to be had...and lots of great adventuring. Thanks a million and make sure to take great care...Bruce and Otis

Bruce, I’m Out in the same forest tonight and it is starting again lol! I’m in the hammock and will be making storm flaps I think! The rain held off for the day at least and after 18 miles today it will be nice to sleep to. :) hope all is well. Give that Otis a Pat for me! ATB, Gary.

    Gary
Thanks for posting another enjoyable video
There are so many awesome trails to hike and the section markers are cool to be able to select a portion of the trail and visit it myself.
Meets all my criteria; journey, adventure & safe haven !
Biscuits and gravy just might need to be added to the list
May all your journeys be adventures and your havens safe

Oh John, if you don’t have biscuits and gravy on that list I may suggest an amendment! :) this is a really nice trail so far, did another 20ish miles this weekend and will have a vid up shortly. No shortage of parking for shorter sections too with a few restaurant stops!
Hope all is good and you had a good Father’s Day! ATB, Gary.

@@SophisticatedDogCat for sure it will. That is the worst part about hiking in New England I think, the rocky and craggy stuff but it gets you to great views!

Oh bro, I don’t know where the hat is from, the missus got it for me at Christmas. I can ask and see if she remembers.
Thanks bro, I do try to get out, to some nice spots in the summer. Hoping to get some mountains in this summer, will be some great views there! :)
Hope you have a great week TC!

@@ConnecticutBackcountry so far I’ve restored 2 Coleman 425e white gas stoves almost in the same formula as your tutorial video. It was just stuff lying around at work that I used . Didn’t cost a dime. Wire wheel, spray paint , carb.cleaner. Thanks CT back country!

That crunchy grinding noise while you're walking, is that gravel under your feet or done on done in your knees
