- I played hooky and went to NH to hike the Beaver Brook Trail to Mt Moosilauke! I was supposed to stay in CT and hike the New England trail but, yet again, it decided to rain and I am done with hiking in the rain for a bit so I ran to the White Mountains in New Hampshire and hiked Mount Moosilauke.

Oh my, running away...yup, gotta do what ya gotta do to chase the sunshine! Fabulous cascades for sure...my place for a cup of tea! Snow!? Noooooo.... lol Gorgeous summit for sure! I wonder how affective that sign is...that psychology would only want me to prove it wrong. Great adventuring! Have an awesome week...Bruce and Otis
Lol, that sign! It sure does present a good challenge when you read it lol. Otis would have had no trouble at all I bet! Give him a scratch for me. All the best.
Hey Gary
Thanks for taking us along !
As always - the mountains call and following that waterfall of a stream must have been awesome !
Looking forward to your next adventure
May all your journeys be adventures and your havens safe
Oh it was for sure awesome! I had to edit the audio in the video because it was a bit loud but I’ll take that over city noise any day!! Thank you John! All the best sir.
Looks like a great time! 👍
It really was a good time for sure, a bit tough but it's the challenge that makes it worth it!
@@ConnecticutBackcountry yes sir! Just went canoeing and camping with my brother last weekend. It's ALOT of work but we'll worth it. Uploaded a video of our adventure if you wanna check it out. ua-cam.com/video/xTPLzmKWra8/v-deo.html
@@Katana-Karl funny you mentioned it, I already had it curled to play while I ate my tacos! =D
Great sharing video's bos good job n have a nice day....
Thank you Khalid! Have a good day as well.
Nice job, Gary! I would agree that it’s the best video yet not on content alone but overall pro feel. Sweet execution and background music. Thank you for the effort to show me that hike!
John, thank you, I’m glad you liked it also, I appreciate hearing it.
I am headed to Lincoln NH in June for a week and am so excited to see all the endless mountains in the White Mountain National Forrest!
Excellent, enjoy!! Lincoln is a great area and you will certainly see some beautiful mountains on the way there. :)
Awesome Casey editing at the beginning...
I was wondering if you would pick up on the influence, that means I did it right! Lol. Thanks bro!
Great video
Thank you Timothy!! Hope your week is great!
I also love to explore
Cool cool! :)
Gary I love this mountain, I’ve hike it three times. You picked the most difficult route for sure. It’s very popular for a reason. The bald summit provides views for miles. Great video take care.
Thanks John. The trail was tough but I just kinda stuck a dart and went where it told me and I am so happy with it that I can understand your 3 times up there! Have a great week. All the best, Gary.
New subscriber here. Nice video my friend. Thanks.
Robert, thank you, glad to have ya along! All the best, Gary.
Got a secret campsite on the way up by the river. Great memories on that mountain. Got 3 of the 4 shelters done for my pachaug patch. Maybe see you again on my hikes..
Frank, hello! Hope all is good! I imagined you might be one of the first to finish the patch challenge! I'm glad to hear it. Have fun out there and yes, I would not mind running into you again out there as long as you aren't stuck in a cave LOL!
I applaud anyone who does that drive both ways in one day. Haven't gone up that way yet but I'm due for another trip up the Moose.
Bro. I think you have me beat in traveling to go hiking lol!!! I hadn't been up there before and I loved it, would for sure go back but I have 45 more to get to first lol.
@@ConnecticutBackcountry yeah but one thing I don't do is drive up and down on the same day. That shit wears you out. I salute you!
im from CT and i do day trips like this all the time. my longest day was driving up to hike mt. washington up and down then driving back home. won't do that again, it really drained me. i had to stop at 3 rest stops to rest my eyes.
@@tallicafan85 Yeah that's too much for me. I lucky that my wife doesn't mind me going up for the weekend so I usually drive up on a Friday and come back on a Sunday.
Nice video. My nephew is moving to NH, so I’ll have opportunities to hike more up that way.
That is great! I absolutely enjoy NH in every way except the cost right now to get there lol.
Miss ya’ bro! Hope all is good. City has been hot lately!
Hey bro! Yeah, I’ve taken a bit of a break to get some stuff done around here, thank you! I wanna stop down there and see y’all anyway.
Great video and some awesome views. How many people were hiking the trail? Was the trail busy or just the top? Thanks, really enjoy the channel
Thank you Larry! The trail up and down wasn't crowded at all. I think I saw 3 up and 3 down scattered but the top was probably 15+ people all huddled around the foundation hiding from the wind. There are a few ways up so I would have to guess they came up one of those ways.
nice. i from CT too and i hate CT so much i always go to NH for day trips to hike. hiking this trail tomorrow for a new hike and like always on my days off, rain chance.
Hey, how was the hike? Did you get to without rain? I like CT it can just be a bit blah at times, with no vistas and stuff.
@@ConnecticutBackcountry didnt do the hike up this time. went with my dad and he wimped out at the climbing part at the falls. rain stopped in the morning. did mt osceola yesterday. that was a fun hike. i be doing a full run up the moosilauke trail on my own, my dad cant do what i can.
@@tallicafan85 I’ve been off for most of the summer but my dad and I are headed out this weekend, nice being able to get out with our dads even if they do back out once in a while I think.
I looked at your channel, you gonna make more videos? Looks like we are in the same town. There are a couple nice spots to get to hiding in the woods near you. Bog Meadow and whatnot.
@@ConnecticutBackcountry on the trails i was a yelling to my dad, " i hear the old man of the mountain" :D bog meadow on bog meadow road? i been there as a kid but they area is blocked off. last time i was there i saw a bag with beer cans and blood and never went back. i do my biking and hiking in colchester alot and air line trail for biking.
Hi.
Enjoyed this video - thanks!
I'm hoping to visit this area one day and hike up:
1. Mt. Moosilauke
2. Franconia Ridge
Question: Have you done Franonia Ridge? If so, is it possible to do it as a day hike, up-and-back?
As a long-time hiker, I appreciate your channel, look forward to more videos.
Ken, hello and thank you! I haven’t hiked Franconia ridge but plan to eventually. If you are looking for a peak bagging loop, I believe there is a 16ish mile loop that could theoretically be done in a day by someone in good shape. I would plan a stay after the hike though. I’m pretty sure there is a mapped hike that covers Lafayette, Lincoln, Liberty and Flume. You could potentially make use on an AMC hut or what not to camp for an overnight baring in mind that the AMC and RMC charge for some of the platforms and huts up there.
I’d be interested to hear about your trip should you do it.
All the best, Gary.
@@ConnecticutBackcountry Thanks Gary - I appreciate your tips and this fine video! Will let you know what happens.
Bro, I won't lie. You forgot to add a stone to the cairn and that is disappointing. Looks you gotta go back now
😂🤣😂 lol! I will for sure go back but I am no hippie lol. I kinda wanna make a carin in the back yard now though!
@@ConnecticutBackcountry do eet! We had one for a moment then knocked it down before a kid got squished
