- A beautiful hike up Mount Kearsarge North with an overnight in the fire tower. We took the Weeks Brook trail for the 5 mile in and 5 mile out trail covered in moss and following a stream to the top. My father Gary and Allen came along for the trip and we met some new people at the top.

Look at those amazing fall colours!! Wow, such great 360 views from the tower for sure! Yup, we have a few open air privies as well...a great way to see the bear as he approaches when you are bearing all! lol Fantastic sunset and a beautiful morning...but looked a little chilly to start. So wonderful to share an experience like this with a like-minded father and friend...and congrats on the 1,000 milestone! All the best!! Bruce and Otis
Well TBH if I saw the bear while sitting there I would be in the right place to avoid a change of underwear at least lol.
That wind drove the temperature down for sure but it wasn’t too bad as we were all prepared for it. Thank you sir. Give Otis a treat or two from me. All the best, Gary.
Good seeing and awesome seeing this beautiful view ! 🤩
That view was something you see infrequently in my opinion. I could just set up a chair and live in that moment of first seeing it for a long time. All the best, and thank you! 👋
Nice video 👍
Beautiful scenery :)
Didn't know Ct. had a place with such a view. Nicely done my new friend. Hope to see you soon.
Mike! It was nice to meet you the other day! This isn’t in CT but New Hampshire. I don’t always post CT content, the views tend to be a bit better from a bit higher than we can get in CT.
I’ll watch for ya around for sure. All the best, Gary.
Awesome video! Amazing hike...looks like you guys had a great time!
It certainly was. Thank you much! 😃
If I were younger & in better condition I would love to hike up there to the watch tower. Enjoyed your video.
Thank you and if all goes as planned you can join along all our hikes via video. As long as there aren’t too many technical issues lol. All the best, Gary.
Very cool looks like a great time . Hope you are doing well . And good to see you
Ron T Sawyer!! Hello sir!! It really was a good time, thank you. :) good seeing you as well! ATB.
Been many a year since I've been up there. Great spot. Didn't know you could camp in the Firetower - that's pretty cool.
Yeah, glad it wasn’t full. Kinda taking the risk banking on it tbh as there is a 1/4 mile FPA off the top but we got lucky. :) I had my hammock so I coulda just hung under it would would have been a special kinda cool lol.
Killer !!
=D Thanks bro!
i can only imagine how much gas was passed in that fire tower that night...
😂🤣 snoring was epic too!! I am impressed anyone slept.
Unless I missed it. How did you prepare you meal for the night or breakfast ? Or did you not bring a camp stove ?
Hello and oh no, I didn't show it. I am a bit soft of taping while others are around as to not disturb their experience. I just did instant mashed potatoes and a packet of white chicken breast. I warmed the water in my Jetboil Stash. I alternate stoves and on a short hike like this I don't mind that weight, not that it is much more than my other cook systems.
First
Lol, goof. :)
What on God’s Green Earth is a fucking “privy”?
