We are blackish lol. Still trying to get my stuff together but I am itching to get back out! It is really a drive. Strange how it feels like it takes less time to get up north than across the state. I will say though, you really should get over that way, especially after they finish the Riga shelter, the view in the morning is perfect!
HEY HEY!! Back at it kinda for now but still intermittent unfortunately. Hopeful I will get to get out a bit more frequently in the near future. Good to hear from ya John. ATB, Gary.
Hi. Enjoyed the scenery from this walk - thanks. I hiked up to this point twice - once in Fall, 1974 while stationed at the sub base in Groton, and another in Dec. 1986 while in CT for business. In 1974, there was a wooden platform sitting on to of the rocks. Always enjoyed the views from Bear Mountain, hope to see it again one day.
Hello Ken, I do like bear mountain but honestly as far as the CT section goes, I kinda love mornings at the Rigga shelter a touch better. Something about being greeted by the first light of the sun that makes the day start a bit better. I hope you get some time to get back there though because no matter where, the AT is a bit other worldly in the general feeling and helps you feel a bit more in touch with the world. All the best, Gary.
Love the hike! You ol' geezers! 🤣

@@ConnecticutBackcountry Thank you Gary. I do hope to do the entire AT in CT one day, so will hopefully get to see the view you described.
What camera is this?
Hiya Nick. This is just a GoPro Hero 10. Great for most things except low light or even moderately low light. Thanks for dropping by!
there’s a big nasty beast in those mountains, that the highest levels of government don’t want you to know about. Please be careful
That's a little vague. Can you elaborate please
