Can we please talk about the fact that apparently god made that little girl sick -- traumatizing her and her parents, presumably leaving the parents with huge medical bills, preventing the little girl from being able to go to school or spend time with her friends during an important developmental period in her life, and nearly *killing her* -- all so that girl could someday tell the reporter lady that god loves her?! Not to mention being in the article means that little girl is gonna be hounded by Christians for the rest of her life as a miracle near-death-experience-haver. I feel like the kidnapping stuff is child's play by comparison! *This* situation is the scariest thought of the movie! 😱😱
Willie, you are extremely talented, funny, compassionate, and intelligent! You absolutely don't need to be making the same video over and over again. What this viewer wants to see you do is analyze and riff upon whatever topics bring you the most pleasure and most deeply stimulate your curiosity. :-)
When you said her boss was Rowdy Roddy Piper, I thought you were joking. HER BOSS WAS ROWDY RODDY PIPER! "I've come to chew bubble gum and discuss existential angst in a post-modern amoral culture, and I'm all out of bubble gum."
39:38 That lady is no "Greatest Generation" she's a boomer if ever there was one. She's somewhere between 70 and 80. The person she's supposed to represent would be in their 90s at least, any younger than that and she would have been too young to even remember her brother's leaving.
Yep. I'm a late boomer and she's not much older than I am. My dad wasn't even old enough to enlist in WWII. He did 18 months in the Army as soon as he legally could (17 with a parental waiver) so he wouldn't get drafted in the Korean War.
That's so funny to me because in some ways Latvia is one of the least Christianized places in Europe? It was one of the last places to be converted, shockingly late, like the 1200s or 1300s. Yes, yes Martin Luther set up a library there that is part of the university and everybody is very proud of that, but other things... Put it this way: I finally went to Latvia last year and it was lovely! However. I missed out on the Totally Extremely Very Christian And Not Thinly Wallpapered Over Pagan Holiday of midsummer (Jāni) bc I broke my arm. This is a festival that revolves around: drinking, wearing flower crowns and oak wreathes, singing, dancing, drinking, bonfires, staying up all night, drinking, cheese, driving away witches, jumping over bonfires, drinking and of course--searching for the mythical Magic Fern Flower in the woods with someone. It's everything St John would have wanted.
UA-cam ads are weirdly specific to the videos they're shown on, but at the same time completely clueless about the angle. I've gotten an ad for meat lovers pizza on a video about veganism, an LDS church ad on a video about a mormon cult and a manosphere podcast ad on a video about why alpha males aren't a real thing. I guess I'm glad advertisers are wasting their money on trying to sell me things I'll never buy, and the creators I watch get paid a tiny bit for it 😅
Someone needs to bring an eight-year-old, a generative AI, and a Christian movie writer together, give all three of them the same prompt, and see who can produce the most coherent story.
I hear you, Mr. Muse. The older I get, the weirder my body image perception gets. Sometimes I’m like, “Hey, all things considered, you look kinda nice!” And sometimes I’m like, “Holy crap, how can people interact with the horrible half-human blob monster I’ve become?” And sometimes I glance in the mirror and go, “Dad?” Or “Granny?” Or “Mom?” So I have no consistent physical self-image. It’s weird, man.
I *think* the little girl was saying that in a "Jesus wants you back as a fully devoted Christian" way, not in a "you're gonna die soon" way, but ngl, it took me a minute to figure that out. 😂 I guess it's pretty creepy either way.
Pfffft I'm sorry but that shot with angel dude lurking behind the dad straining to lift his son up off the side of the rock, his face just looks so casual while he makes vague hand gestures that looks a lot like strangling him from the back of his neck and pushing him off or something, and with that filming angle.. Honestly thats hilarious Also to your point about your channel, by the wise words of Muse 'endless growth is unsustainable', basically plateauing is incredibly expected and normal, the ones who are all still here are here for a reason. Idk if that helps but heres hoping. Also we're predisposed to be our own worst critics especially us with mental health difficulties, rule of thumb, believe the least harsh version of yourself your brain will let you believe (unless youre someone with narcissism issues of course but that doesnt apply here obvs)
29:30 imagine being a professional reporter and typing your article directly from your mind into the indesign formatting page for the printed newspaper. forget rough drafts, forget editing, just rawdog that thang straight from brain to final product. incredible.
25:02 This second story is the one that annoys me the most. 28:35 and this is why it annoys me. Of course the father is going to save his son. It's a no brainer. There's no conflict in saving the son, especially since they're both tethered together still, and if he let his son go it would pull him down too. A real test is if they had gotten apart and the father fell, then the son would have to decide to save his good for nothing father or not.
I think that would be just as much of a cop out tbh. I think the whole saving thing is just a rushed solution to a non existing problem . Because they are both disappointed by each other they don't hate each others gut,so of course they would save each other. But that doesn't mean that their strained relationship is therefore better and everything is solved. I think it would have been better if they had to work together in a dangerous situation and learn how to trust each other and rely on each other to get away. Also even if the son would absolutely hate the dad there would still be the problem of them being tied together so saving the dad would be a no-brainer as well, even if the son wanted him dead and gone, but would he die with him?
I know at least I haven't been watching every video lately only because the movies are sometimes triggering for me on so many levels that even your gentle, hysterical, and poignant commentary cannot make me not feel bad about myself afterwards. The movie still needles inside my head and makes me feel the bad things. Sometimes I'll put your video on mute on my tv and listen to an audiobook instead though! Regardless of what you do, thank you so much for always being you. When I can watch, your optimism is always comforting and inspiring, and your sense of humor is a perfect way to trigger the good thoughts instead and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that.
My feelings too, pretty much. I've been in a bad headspace, so a lot of topics have been triggering to me. Had to quit watching so much cool stuff in my subscriptions because of it 🙄
I had to give up on your last video just because I’m feeling extra stressed and jumpy lately and all the homophobia was rubbing on my raw nerves. Hopefully I’ll get back to it when I’m more stable. Good luck and happy holidays 💖💖💖

You’re very funny but also insightful and you’ve brought up some ideas that are new to my mind and I really enjoy it. Thank you for the effort you put into this.
I absolutely HATE the sound of sneakers squeaking on the floor. Who was their sound designer? and why did they think that was a good sound to continue for 13 gd seconds?
In their defense, as soon as I heard that sound, I knew exactly what they were trying to communicate even with both actors off camera.... and to their discredit, it made their entire reconciliation insufferably annoying even before I saw the awkward roughhousing.
I really appreciate how honest you are about where your channel is at and just how you feel in general. I admire your vulnerability, along with your dry sense of humor. I found your channel at a really dark time in my life and it's nice to know their are other weirdos out their with very specific interests.
I think all the versions of you are true. We are multifaceted creatures and how we perceive ourselves varies not only from how others see us but also from how we see ourselves based on the context and our mood and like the song we heard first on our alarm clock this morning. I'm currently trying to emerge from body neutrality to body euphoria and I find that acceptance of myself simply as I am is a vital but difficult first step. 😊😊
30:00 Istg, this man invoked his inner Rapsittie Street Kids' grandma because I had to rewatch like 3 times to understand the words under all the slurring
Don't worry about other people covering the same thing. Not everyone watches those other people and even if they do, most people like seeing different takes on the same thing. Like I've seen videos that one of the true crime channels I watch covered, and then watched it again when Mr. Ballen covered the same story. Each person provided new insight or new information that wasn't available to the others.
Agreed! There aren't always overlaps in viewership and even when there are, I know a lot, like you mentioned, that listen to multiple people do it to hear different takes! I'm definitely the latter, and I have plenty of friends who are, so please don't let it stop you, Willie!
The most horrifying part of this movie to me is that apparently God let that little girl die of sickness and then ONLY sent her back because he was insulted that the brainless reporter lady didn't like him enough. And for some reason he needed a little girl (that he clearly didn't care enough about to keep from getting sick in the first place) to play messenger for him. Why is this considered an emotional, inspiring story to anyone? That little girl DIED in front of her parents. Sure, she came back, but this seems more likely to be traumatic than uplifting. God does not come off as compassionate and loving in this story. I have to think he had other ways to communicate with the idiot reporter lady. Like, this could have been an email, we didn't have to schedule a face-to-face with your 6-year-old secretary. Although reporter lady is pretty damn dense so she may have needed this more extreme approach. If I'm honest, I think I understand why they had her doing fashion reports and wedding season stories for her entire career (because she's either had a recent career change or she's been doing this for 25+ years.) So yeah, my entire takeaway from the movie is that the faith of dumb older ladies is worth more than the lives of sweet little girls.
Saw is incredibly plot heavy, there's so much stuff going on that i think most people just check out between the traps, but i promise there is a fuckton of stuff going on with a bunch of people who have different motives and interpretations of John Kramer's Jigsaw ideology.
You have quite the talent in making such funny ads. My favorite video of yours is still about the "gay" film with the bees and the one with the Bigfoot. I rewatch it every now and then for a quick laugh.
I've seen 2 other creators cover this movie but I am a certified Willie thumbnail clicker no matter what. Because you always have something new and wholly Willie to bring to the table!! I know 'stealing sloppy seconds' is a joke, and trying to figure out what the algorithm wants is *no* joke, but give yourself more credit in your intros! We love ya
Rodeny Ronny Piper's half slurred speech about graying is so uncomfortable. But hey good on the writers for finding another euphemism for "gay people are allowed to exist and therefore morality doesn't anymore"
Also gotta love that God is just exponentially more upset about homosexuality being legal than he is about genocide and slavery and Jim Crow and segregation and lynching and child labor and legalized domestic violence.
I'm not sure "talking it out" is so important that we need to be kidnapping estranged family members, but it's nice that the movie centers communication in its own very silly and confusing way. The concept of Saw is honestly a bit much for me, so I sort of admire the idea of drastically lowering the stakes to where it's basically slice-of-life.
Brain is fried today, but commenting for the algorithm! (I've heard from a lot of smaller youtubers that they're getting less views recently, I think perhaps youtube changed some settings?)
Long time coming, just wanted to give you a super thanks because you’re the reason I picked up crochet and I’m so grateful. I can’t crochet without looking at my work like you can with your knitting but that skill is what inspired me. Keep up the great work Willie! Love your videos.
Do christians... not understand what horror is? I mean, I get that they don't understand most things, but like... this movie casts God in the roll of Jigsaw. Jigsaw _is_ the monster in the "Saw" movies, he is the terrifying threat, a'la Freddy, Jason and Leatherface. Imagine watching something like "Hostel" and thinking, "God would fit really well into the role of those rich assholes who pay to torture people". And yeah, he would all things considered, but christians would depict that as a good thing!!

Never give up your calm quiet style! But maybe some knitting corner branding would make your channel stand out more? But im no professional so take this with a grain of salt!
What I personally would like to see from you is a playlist of your christploitation movie reviews Also more Knitcholas. We get to the premise and I start thinking, what if I were in this situation. There's not a goddamn thing I could say to get my sister to see me as human rather than a wild animal that needs to be beaten into submission, so odds are one of us wouldn't be getting out of that room alive. Not every relationship can be solved by talking because not everyone is willing to listen in good faith.
I think the movie is even more horrifying then saw because it implies an allmighty being can abduct you at any time, let you die and then throw you out of heaven to talk to one random reporter. In saw, it was only a human with limited power.

Willie I just wanna let you know that your voice/ the way you talk is really comforting. I think because there’s not as much tone changes there’s more reliance on length changes (when there’s pause and emphasis etc) which is a lot easier to digest and understand for my tiny smooth autistic brain
At the segment with the reporter talking to people who aren't religious leaders right now (specifically the scene with the little girl) and. That man either does NOT know how to use a paring knife, or he's pretending that he doesn't know how, because WHAT is he doing to those apples Anyways it's hilarious watching that section with the priest as a person studying american religious history, because.. lol. For pleasing YT, I’d suggest splitting off posing for the thumbnail into a short. Since watching to the end of the video is a really important metric for YT, you’ll often find that people who keep the end of their videos short do better (think of Penguinz0 who just abruptly cuts with “so yeah”). Then you’d also get a short out of it. Also, don’t panic about what you look like! We notice different things in pictures each time we look, and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong, except that you’re judging yourself so harshly for it.

That's where I'm at too - I like the variety! I hope the numbers aren't getting you down too bad, Willie.
The “Oh fuck you right in the skull!” was a masterpiece of timing and delivery.
I wish they had assigned some competent actors to this movie. 😂
When you said her boss was Rowdy Roddy Piper, I thought you were joking.
HER BOSS WAS ROWDY RODDY PIPER!
"I've come to chew bubble gum and discuss existential angst in a post-modern amoral culture, and I'm all out of bubble gum."
RIP to a legend of wrestling. I'm sad he was in this, and it was released the year he died. 😭
Reminds me of that meme with Duke Nukem.
The fact this movie was filmed so close to his death means Willie's speculation that Piper was intoxicated is definitely possible.
39:38 That lady is no "Greatest Generation" she's a boomer if ever there was one. She's somewhere between 70 and 80. The person she's supposed to represent would be in their 90s at least, any younger than that and she would have been too young to even remember her brother's leaving.
Came here to say the same thing, no way was even in her 80's. "I was just a girl during the war", yeah Korean war maybe
Yep. I'm a late boomer and she's not much older than I am. My dad wasn't even old enough to enlist in WWII. He did 18 months in the Army as soon as he legally could (17 with a parental waiver) so he wouldn't get drafted in the Korean War.
I had the same reaction! Even if she had been a "young girl" during the war - that would have made her Silent Generation - not Greatest Generation!
Yeah, the Greatest Generation is DEAD, yo. Don't try to fob boomers off on us as the greatest gen.
@@betterlatethannever4536Not all of them. Don't death wish my grandma's, please.
I got an ad for a Christian festival in Latvia (I live in Ireland) on this video, so I think UA-cam is confused by the substance of this film
That is the most wildly random YT ad I have heard of yet. I mean what the fu
Are you using a VPN?
I guess I'm glad advertisers are wasting their money on trying to sell me things I'll never buy, and the creators I watch get paid a tiny bit for it 😅
I had some random Christian dude want to Pray with/for me. Like...every Willie muse that covers Christian whateriems is full of them XD.
I feel like someone told the screenwriter, "the journalist part needs to relate back to the kidnapping plot," and he took it literally.
That Angel standing behind the sad on the cliff - the closest moment to actual horror
100% Practically a jump scare. Lol
My issue with this channel is that Knitkolas has been silenced and I'm not okay with that.
I miss him & his snark
He was always silent, wdym?
@@Jay_one he’d still have his thoughts subtitled.
He's definitely plotting something.
#freeKnitkolas
I see the horrible half-human blob monster every time I try on clothes.
I *think* the little girl was saying that in a "Jesus wants you back as a fully devoted Christian" way, not in a "you're gonna die soon" way, but ngl, it took me a minute to figure that out. 😂
I guess it's pretty creepy either way.
Honestly thats hilarious
Also to your point about your channel, by the wise words of Muse 'endless growth is unsustainable', basically plateauing is incredibly expected and normal, the ones who are all still here are here for a reason. Idk if that helps but heres hoping. Also we're predisposed to be our own worst critics especially us with mental health difficulties, rule of thumb, believe the least harsh version of yourself your brain will let you believe (unless youre someone with narcissism issues of course but that doesnt apply here obvs)
29:30 imagine being a professional reporter and typing your article directly from your mind into the indesign formatting page for the printed newspaper. forget rough drafts, forget editing, just rawdog that thang straight from brain to final product. incredible.
Plot twist: whole movie just extended ad for Christian relationship therapy escape room rental service
Willie: "I guess, maybe, they're both meant to relay information..."
me, trying really hard to figure out how chickens are meant to relay information
Had to quit watching so much cool stuff in my subscriptions because of it 🙄
thats my problem. I have been having a lot of personal stuff and just need goofy videos
This is exactly why I'm so excited about the Bones content!
I had to give up on your last video just because I’m feeling extra stressed and jumpy lately and all the homophobia was rubbing on my raw nerves. Hopefully I’ll get back to it when I’m more stable. Good luck and happy holidays 💖💖💖
valid
I always love a twist that's super subtle. "His mild limp wasn't even there! How slightly surprising!"
Willie, I don’t know why your views have dropped - probably the mysterious algorithm or some other X factor - but I want you to know that I really love your videos and I get a lot out of them. You’re very funny but also insightful and you’ve brought up some ideas that are new to my mind and I really enjoy it. Thank you for the effort you put into this.
Old pastor: "Our founding fathers, in the main, had a deep faith in god." 35:14
Willie: Noooo! [Very loud incorrect buzzer sound.]
I absolutely HATE the sound of sneakers squeaking on the floor. Who was their sound designer? and why did they think that was a good sound to continue for 13 gd seconds?
I was getting really angry
'Not quite as intense as saw, but I still probably wouldn't want it to happen to me" is for some reason the funniest thing I've ever heard 😂😂😂😂
Never mind, "So what's with the cane" just topped it 😂😂😂😂
your tiny hats make me so happy
Exactly!
38:23 is the realest reaction because if a child said that to me while smiling and staring into me like 👁👄👁, i'd be sprinting away
7:06 "You probably wouldn't want it to happen to you" would be a hilarious movie poster. I'm imagining it read off in movie narrator voice.
You're either going to be pleasantly surprised or thoroughly disappointed in a movie that was advertised like that
The most horrifying part of this movie to me is that apparently God let that little girl die of sickness and then ONLY sent her back because he was insulted that the brainless reporter lady didn't like him enough.
If I'm honest, I think I understand why they had her doing fashion reports and wedding season stories for her entire career (because she's either had a recent career change or she's been doing this for 25+ years.)
So yeah, my entire takeaway from the movie is that the faith of dumb older ladies is worth more than the lives of sweet little girls.
Saw is incredibly plot heavy, there's so much stuff going on that i think most people just check out between the traps, but i promise there is a fuckton of stuff going on with a bunch of people who have different motives and interpretations of John Kramer's Jigsaw ideology.
yeah man the original saw movie was a masterpiece honestly
You have quite the talent in making such funny ads. My favorite video of yours is still about the "gay" film with the bees and the one with the Bigfoot. I rewatch it every now and then for a quick laugh.
that one does crack me up
in the sequel, the reconciler will trap people in their homes to force them to do basic chores and pay bills.
As a Saw fan, I think the cane was meant to stand in for John Saw playing dead on the floor of the Saw Bathroom
I did the Titus from Final Fantasy laugh about two octaves higher when the guy said what The Reconciler's M.O. is 🤣
I'm not sure "talking it out" is so important that we need to be kidnapping estranged family members, but it's nice that the movie centers communication in its own very silly and confusing way.
The cane twist is really just the movie being like, "Remember The Usual Suspects?"
The scream reference has me foaming on the floor automatically the only valid Halloween video
(Tho your content is fun keep creating, your stuff is fun and I like ur humor :])
Christian version of Saw...well I didn't see that one coming, but I should have 😂
I’m bummed you’re getting less attention Willie! I love your videos so much. They’re calming but entertaining- You’re funny and engaging! The algorithm is shit >:(
As a random non youtuber maybe having an intro song/ card could help? to remind people your channel name? And it gives the impression of professionalism (weird i know). Never give up your calm quiet style! But maybe some knitting corner branding would make your channel stand out more? But im no professional so take this with a grain of salt!
What I personally would like to see from you is a playlist of your christploitation movie reviews
Also more Knitcholas.
OH SHIT I HAVEN'T MADE THIS YET!??!?!
I absolutely adore the way you do your movie reviews. The way you talk about the plot, your jokes, your takes. It's so great!
You disappeared off my reccs for a while. Glad your videos are showing up again. I should probably turn on notifications for uploads
willie did you buy that prop phone just for incogni?! you deserve all the sponsors
That reporter’s floors are better waxed than the gym in high school musical
I'm glad Willie decided to cover this movie because I probably would never have found out about this wild time otherwise
I think the movie is even more horrifying then saw because it implies an allmighty being can abduct you at any time, let you die and then throw you out of heaven to talk to one random reporter. In saw, it was only a human with limited power.
WIllie!! You are one of my top favorite movie commentors on all of YT. 🥺 And your comedy literally always hits so good. I always look forward to your new vids!!!
"Something Something Christian wh○r€ film" *ears perk up* I'm listening 😂😂
Thanks
Sorry you've been experiencing a view slump! I find your videos super fun and have been watching more regularly lately because I have finally (after way too many years) figured how to get UA-cam to show the things I want on my page 😂
Also, I cackled at your Vyvanse comment and I hate zombie movies, but I would ABSOLUTELY watch the heck out of that movie as someone who relies on many medications to keep brain and body stable 😂
That man either does NOT know how to use a paring knife, or he's pretending that he doesn't know how, because WHAT is he doing to those apples
Anyways it's hilarious watching that section with the priest as a person studying american religious history, because.. lol. Anyone who says "the nation has become less and less christian!" should define what they mean by "christian" because I guarantee, you don't know the first thing about what some of the first religious groups in america believed. Shoutout to the folks who believed jesus had a womb in his stab wound!
I just found your channel a few days ago and binging a lot of vids. Makes me smile during work. 😊
I'm genuinely impressed by how boring a movie can be. Somebody signed off on this as the final product.
I'm really struggling not to fast forward so Willie gets a full view for the video!
My immediate thought for something that a chicken and a filing cabinet have in common is that they both have eggs in them. I may not have the best grasp on what a filing cabinet is used for.
The intention to stop, then more talking, then the interrupting song about (recording) on Vyvanse. I have never felt more seen! (and never thought it would occur in a Christian Horror movie review)! 😆 I see you too, my siblings in pharma! 😆
They really saw the villain of saw and thought “that seems like a good place to slot in our god”
I find it so funny that they fully copied the structure of saw too (a main "game" and smaller side stories). The fact they bothered to watch the original instead of just doing something more vague is incredible. I just wish they copied the over the top editing too.
I didn't think you were posting as much since they weren't showing as often on my home page.
"damnit I thought I was gunna get murdered" is such a mood
New Willie??? Count me in! I love your videos! I would love to talk to you, I feel like you would be the funniest person to just chat with over anything
Willie has the only ad reads I consistently enjoy
Your videos get me thru my 10 hour shifts, I love the longer videos and the ramblings at the end when you're doing the thumbnail lol ❤❤❤
I didn't realize this was a premiere or I would have clicked sooner. I really need to pay more attention to the things I read lol.
Wildly telling that the "horror" element is literally just having an open dialog with someone you don't get along with.
I had been relying on my feed to keep up with your videos, I had lost track of you in the past month or so. Glad to find more Knitting Time with Willie on my home page so I can get around to subscribing!
This is the first ever youtube video I've watched premiere! Love your work willie! Rewatched an old drawfee live last night and you were funny as always in there!
Hi i just discovered you last night but I really like your videos. You have this chill vibe where it feels like I’m just hanging out with you having craft night in your knitting tent
"This is what I'm like when I record on vyvanse"
I've never felt so seen. Big relate
10:46 oh Willie, it's like you're not even thinking about the fact that a chicken and a filing cabinet can both hold thousands of eggs inside them during their lifespan, smh
I was bummed i missed the premiere but happy to see another Willie classic!
The cobweb sweater is the best sweater. Love and appreciate you, Willie!
I laughed so hard at the ad read that the rest of my family in other room were wondering if I was okay.
bruh wtf is this movie. like wtf. anyway i was listening as i was (supposed to be) doing an assignment and tbh unhinged christian movies + willie (and knitcholas) + the premodern perception of barbarism is just what a nice wednesday night needs. also wish me luck because i'm gonna ask someone out tomorrow and i'm a nervous wreck with social anxiety, horrible overthinking problems, and self-esteem issues to boot. this was my way of calming myself down so thank u. please continue continue to be weird and wonderful
Hi, Willie! I hope the views get better for you soon! I've loved your content for a really long time, and I always find myself coming back to the channel and rewatching videos over and over again. There's something very comforting about the format and your humor is exactly my kind of humor. Regardless of what you're talking about, I always look forward to new videos, and I would honestly rather watch you talk about a piece of media I've never seen than watch it directly.
