I couldn't figure this out by myself in a million years if I tried, and to be honest I have no clue how half of the stuff you did works, but I was able to follow your tutorial and achieve the same result. So props to you for being not only a geometry nodes wizard but an excellent teacher.

Great tutorial, explaining the logic behind nodes and math - unlike so many "monkey see, monkey do" videos out there. This one really gets your neurons activated.

dude your tutorial is a treasure, the way you teach on how you want to do a certain way makes it more clear how the nodes works together which a lot of gurus are lacking when doing a tutorial, it's awesome keep it coming!

Incredible tutorial, I really appreciate sharing the thought process behind the nodes rather than just giving a recipe.

If you make a course explaining from the very fundamentals of vectors (and subtracting / adding / multiplying them) / math / etc / building up the concepts to stuff like this I would totally buy it.

FYI to anyone confused like me, the merge by distance node is in 3.1 *beta.* The alpha build doesn't have it.

Thanks a lot, very interesting tutorial and effect, it open maybe a way to help me folding inside out in GN and already modeled mesh or part of mesh, like a snail eyes mechanism

Pure genius. What if you wanted to 3d print this? You can use solidify to give thickness but how can you use geometry nodes to close gap underneath?
